This is so worth the visit when visiting the island of Oahu. If you get there early enough you can get free parking at one of the lagoons. You are free to walk the beautiful grounds of Aulani, A Disney Resort. In addition you can shop as well.

Forgot to pay for parking, got a ticket and ridiculous added fee within 24 hrs. Really ruins the experience and makes me not want to return.

I didnt even see the parking sign. Maybe a warning for the first offense would be appropriate. Why is there an additional fee within 24 hours of paying? Really makes me not want to return.

Beautiful area on the west side of Oahu. Lush & tropical complete with white sand beaches, a lagoon and a golf course. There are great bars and eateries, along with nice shops. Highly recommend!!

When you enter the area, you'll see a sign that tells you how many parking spaces are within each lagoon. Since it said there was opening at lagoon three we opted to go to this one. I'm so glad we did! It's located in front of the Marriot. There's plenty of sand and seating to lounge in. There's a bathroom and a rinse off area. The wind was blowing where you can see the waves beyond the rocks but it definitely slowed down the waves to the shore. I walked to the other lagoons and this one was the nicest. Lagoon 2 looked kind of murky and Lagoon 1 was too busy with a lot of people, which was at the Aulani resort. If you're hungry, they have a snack bar , quite pricey or walk to the market. I opted to go to the market at the resort. They had paninis, hot dogs, sandwiches, pretzels, nachos, Starbucks, ice cream, smoothies and other convenience store snacks. I highly recommend this lagoon for a beautiful beach day.

During my visit to Hawaii I stayed at Aulani which is a resort owned by Disney that is located within the Ko Olina community. I spent a good amount of time exploring the resort area so I figured that warranted it's own review - so here we go! Ko Olina is located on the southwest shores of Oahu, and contains a number of different lodgings, homes, and amenities. In addition to Aulani, the area is also home to a few more resorts such as the Four Seasons and a Marriott, as well as residences, shops, restaurants, beaches, and golf courses. Ko Olina is also home to Paradise Cove which hosts events such as luaus. I took the time to explore the grounds during my stay, and really enjoyed simply walking around and absorbing the aesthetics. There are a lot of walking paths and several lagoons with beaches. I was also impressed with the variety of shops and restaurants present - it's super convenient to get light groceries, sundries, or a souvenir. One of the drawbacks that I found with Ko Olina is that it's a little far from Honolulu. You can totally make a vacation out of staying within Ko Olina's grounds, but if you're looking to explore the island then it can be a bit of a drive to get to the main tourist sites - it really depends on the type of vacation you're looking for. Overall, Ko Olina was beautiful - it's definitely a picturesque place to spend time while in Hawaii with a lot of amenities to take advantage of. I would definitely consider staying at one of the resorts here again if I ever return to Oahu.

Back again, I just can't stay away, and why would I want to?! This is my reprieve from all things. There's people everywhere yet it's like I'm here by myself. I'm at Lagoon one and per usual it's clean, never cigarette butts anywhere absolutely grosses me out!) or trash. The sounds of nature and children laughing are my music. Practically no weight parking this time, that's always welcome!

    Beautiful day

Just did a drive by. Beautiful well kept landscaping, but too many speed bumps. Good for safety, but it took a long time to drive through and back out.great for maybe a relaxing staycation! Seems safe and less crowded than Waikiki & close enough to Ka Makana Ali'i if you want to shop & dine.

Rich show off a beautiful sun rise in Ko-Olina beach just the beginning glorious day.

Absolutely stunning place to visit. The locals are very friendly.in Ko-Olina and you definitely have so many must haves while you're there and visit quite a few areas please. And keep it clean so that we can all have something beautiful to go back to.

Sunday, 26th January 2020 the parking at Lagoon 4 was pretty open. We had a lot of parking spaves to choose from. We planned on going to Lagoon 4 but, upon arrival, the water was rough even with the reef blocking some of the waves. We really didn't want to leave without enjoying the water so we walked over to lagoon 3 to see if it was the same. Luckily, the water was a little calmer. It was about 830am on a Sunday when we arrived. Although the water was less rough, it was frothy and littered with leaves and other debris (not rubbish, just branches and other shrubs). After about an hour, the water calmed and all the debris cleared up. By this time, the water was so calm and clear you could see the bottom. The beach itself wasn't too crowded and the sun was playing hide & seek with the clouds so it was enjoyable. After about 2.5 to 3 hours we cleaned up and walked but to Lagoon 4 parking. By that time, there were a line of cars waiting for someone to leave so they could park.

All of the Ko'olina lagoons are a great place to bring kids and beginner swimmers as well as to practice snorkeling. You've got some nice as well as some shady grass spots to have a leisurely relaxing day. Get here early so you can get one of the free parking spots and bring your own snacks if you don't want to buy some thing though, there is an ABC store before you get to lagoon one.

this side is closer to the hotel areas.

This is one of several lagoons that has public access. It is located in the area where Marriott vacations is. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon, and there was no crowd. Parking was free although with only about 20 maximum spots. Hotel area is demarcated from the public access side by a rope, but my companion and I used the hotel's beach chairs without incident. There were several fish especially by the rocky areas, so bring your snorkel gear. Water was clear, warm and calm. Public shower and dressing areas just within walking distance (2 minutes). Please no soap or shampoo - save that for your home. On other islands, there is a ban on chemical sunscreen. DO try to use reef safe products.

Great place to hang out IF you can find parking. They are strict about the parking too. Get dropped off it's a great place but be mindful of the millions of tourists! Ok that's an exaggeration....but still nice.

Theses chairs are on the roped off side.

Everyone kept talking to me about these lagoons that I just had to see so I took the day to go visit them. Unfortunately parking here is part of what keeps the lagoons so exclusive so I went from lagoon to lagoon until I found parking and ended up here . . . And I couldn't be more thrilled! After gathering all my stuff I headed up the walk way to the water and was greeted with a beautiful view. It wasn't crowded but what I did notice is that the beach is sectioned off for what I believe to be resort/hotel guest and us regular folks. I walked down to lagoon 4 and noticed that it had more people there so once again I was happy with where I was. I also passed a shower and a water fountain on my walk over, which is always nice so you aren't carrying half the beach back to the car with you. So let me state I was a rule breaker . . . There was a sign posted to not climb on the rocks but I just had to get closer, so climb the rocks (in my water shoes) I did and I don't regret it one bit! I was able to see crabs and sea urchin near the water as well as getting some great pictures. I was up there for about 45 minutes before someone politely told me I had to get off. I also took snorkeling gear with me and I was happy to see some fish near the line as well as near the rocks! So in my humble opinion this is a must do and it's also a nice place to bring the kids as you don't have to worry about the waves swallowing them and dragging them out to sea like some of the other beaches.

The utility work they are doing is really delaying traffic in the resort area during July 2018.

We arrived early but we weren't able to check-in until 4pm. No biggie though because we dropped our bags off and did our grocery shopping while we waited for our room to be ready. From a hotel customer service standpoint, it was pretty good compared to Maui vacation club resorts. The pools and especially the waterslide are the highlights when it comes to amenities. The waterslide is way too much fun! Another amazing part is the lagoons that are steps away from the hotel. No waves, warm water, and super clean. Being so close to a nice beach is such a luxury! They have some cool activities during the day to win prizes, which was a cool way to break up the day. Outside of that, the hotel was just ok. We found the restaurants to be fine but not great. Mid food, hotel prices. That didn't stop us from dining there multiple times because the options in this area aren't abundant. While the hotel has a gym, there's no tennis courts or even a shuttle to take you to the nearby shopping center. If you are staying here, definitely rent a car. $45 for self parking per night though. I've been to this resort a couple of times, and the contrast from staying in a studio versus the 1 or 2-bedroom suites is night and day. The studio rooms are a bit dated and honestly just feels like a standard hotel room. The studio room has a small kitchen area but no stove and really small fridge. The bigger suites are definitely the way to go.

The rooms come with a kitchen stocked with plates, utensils, bowls, a coffee machine, and a hot water dispenser. Laundry is complimentary and on the 4th and 10th floor. They provide the detergent, if you run out just ask for more! If you enjoy exploring local food, the on-site options are somewhat limited. There are two restaurants. One is by the market / koi pond. The other is closer to the pool/beach where you can order items to-go. This same place also delivers food and drinks to the cabanas at the pool and by the lagoon. We thoroughly enjoyed this service when we rented out a cabana for the day! The market carries everything you can think of - from food basics like cereal, to souvenirs. Prices are what you'd expect at a resort. Since we had a car, we drove about 15 minutes to a nearby grocery store to stock up. They serve Starbucks, but it's not the full menu and the line can be long. I preferred grabbing coffee at the restaurant next door (Longhi's) -- I paid ~$8 for a latte with a dairy-free milk substitute and didn't have to wait in that long line which probably would've cost the same price. Shoutout to Chelsea for valeting our car when we arrived, helping with our luggage, and bringing extra bedding and towels. Traveling with young kids can be stressful, but her calm, friendly demeanor made a big difference and didn't go unnoticed. Andrew assisted us with check-in and answered a lot of my questions--he was very helpful. They have an in-app texting service was also convenient. It's only available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. I ended up messaging a couple times after hours not realizing it, and they were kind enough to respond the next morning! One thing to note: if you order any kind of delivery (ie. DoorDash, Uber, etc) - you'll need to pick it up yourself, as staff can't bring it to you. They have a bill changer by the valet area which was a game changer once we found out about it! Make sure to tip these folks, a lot of them are working very hard and showing up with so much love. Overall, this is a great option if you're looking for a "home away from home" experience on the west side of the island!

During our stay, we discovered ants running across the kitchen area in our room. This was not just a few ants. It appeared to be a clear infestation. I have video showing the extent of the ant issue and what we experienced during our stay. We also spotted roaches on the property, which added to our concern and disappointment. Instead of spending our time relaxing, enjoying the resort, and making the most of what was supposed to be a special Disney vacation, we spent valuable vacation time dealing with pest problems, contacting the front desk, waiting for housekeeping, and following up in person to get the room issue addressed. We contacted the front desk right away. The initial call did not seem to be taken as seriously as we had hoped, and it was only after I went to the front desk in person that housekeeping was promptly sent to the room. To their credit, housekeeping did come, took photos, cleaned the area, and attempted to resolve the situation. However, by that point, the disruption had already taken away from our stay. What made the experience even more frustrating was the response afterward. Nothing was initially offered to address the time we lost, the food we had to throw away, or the overall inconvenience of dealing with ants in our room during a vacation we spent over $8,000 on. When we asked about compensation, we were told housekeeping did not have the authority to offer anything, which I understand. However, after speaking with a manager, we were told nothing further could be done beyond a $100 credit, which felt very disappointing given the circumstances. The most upsetting part was the suggestion that we may have brought the ants in ourselves or that we should have reported the issue at check-in. That response felt dismissive and shifted responsibility onto us instead of acknowledging the seriousness of the problem. As someone with over 20 years of experience in the pest control industry, I found that explanation very hard to accept. I hate to put this out there, but I feel obligated to share our experience. Many families save for a long time for a trip like this, and they deserve to know what they could potentially experience, especially when paying Disney resort prices and expecting a certain standard of cleanliness and service. Aulani is a beautiful property and has the potential to be an incredible vacation experience, but this stay did not meet the standard I expected from Disney. The pest issues themselves were bad enough, but the time wasted addressing them and the lack of a meaningful response made the experience much more disappointing. I truly hope management takes these types of cleanliness concerns more seriously in the future. Guests should not have to spend their vacation dealing with ants in their room, food loss, and repeated follow-up just to have an issue properly addressed.

The master suite was super luxe with en suite bathroom (soaker tub was used almost every night). Check in was a breeze with the super wonderful Angel and her partner. They checked up on us ever so often. Very nice people (understatement). Checkout services checked my flight info and accommodated us in very courteous way. I really can't say enough about our stay here. I should have stayed another week. Will definitely recommend and use them again. Thank you to the LHV staff, esp Angel and Suzanne!!!!! Mahalo

The Beach Villas in Ko…read moreOlina are out of this world- quality and amenities are top notch, all for a price you can't beat. I personally enjoy the exclusivity of renting a villa over a room in a traditional hotel. The reason being - some nights you just want to stay in and cook a beautiful meal in a real functional kitchen instead of going out every meal, everyday. I enjoy the space the villas offer and the staff that facilitate and manage these rentals are both professional and warm/welcoming.
