I chose to work with Katy because she came across as very kind, professional, and responsive. She would drive all the way from the Woodlands to meet us in the Galleria area. Whenever I needed assistance, she was available. She also stated she did not work multiple weddings at the same time which was something that was very important to me. As time went on, I noticed her attention to detail was a bit off. The seating chart she created was not correct and we made notes to help her out. We offered to hire an assistant for her for our wedding because the more the merrier and I thought it could make things easier since the church and the venue were in two different locations. She overall declined which I thought was odd. A few days before Katy lets us know that she will have her assistance with her after all which I was happy to hear since there were a few moving parts that were going to be difficult for her to manage on her own. During the day itself, Katy was in and out. I managed the timing of the hair and makeup people. I assumed it was due to her having to check on our different venues. I had a groomsman who needed help with his tie and she was nowhere to be seen. Her assistant was there but didn't know how to tie a tie so a bridesmaid had to step in. I saw Katy again once it was time to travel to the church. Everything went fine except for the fact she missed cueing me in for my entrance which made for an awkward moment instead of a beautiful one. According to her contract, she was supposed to help us out with keeping up with the wedding/photography schedule but she disappeared after the ceremony. The groom had the schedule downloaded and was the one who assisted the photographer in knowing where we were supposed to be and when. Once we get to the venue after pictures, we are left on the bus for 20 minutes and now we are running late. I later learned that there was not enough valet, no one who gave a clear signal to guest to transition upstairs, and every last table was one chair off. The worst part was that this would not have been a big deal if the person I hired was there doing her job. No one could find Katy and my Mother-in-Law had to step up and work with the hotel vendor to correct everything. Katy eventually showed up but most of the issues were already being resolved if not resolved already. After that, I did not see Katy for the rest of the night. Her assistant was there but my Mother-in-Law is the one making sure people are ok. When we get to the venue my groom and I notice that are parents are sitting in the back. As it turned out, Katy did not put the table numbers in the right places so our parents and grandparents are the furthest away from us which is the detail that upset me the most. Later on, my wedding party, guests, and parents noted not seeing Katy all night. Using my super-spy skills A.K.A Facebook and Google, I found out Katy was working two events that day. Via text she admits she worked a "small engagement party" but also said "You were also absolutely my only wedding" Which I knew to be an outright lie. I took screenshots and sent them to her. There were several hiccups and she had an excuse for all of them. I wanted to hire someone who would only work my wedding for a reason. She lied and was not able to step up to help out when needed. I am thankful for my family and groom who handled the gaps in service. 0/10 - DONT LIE TO PEOPLE read more
