Sarah assured me she would have workers call me when they were in the area. Garrett R and Frank called and were there before 1. The smell was overwhelming but they both made me feel at ease right away. They were very respectful of my floors and leaving the door open etc. They worked hard at trying to get the blockage but weren't able too. They didn't just pack up and leave, they referred me to another company , called for me and they weee at my home within the hour. I would recommend both of them in the future to anyone needing plumbing repairs. A very positive experience because of them I will call again.

Delivery and service set ups were never a problem etc. Now, I try to order oil online as I do 50% of time and it says service not available and call AFC number. So, the girl proceeds to tell me because I'm not on automatic delivery during cold snap, I can't receive any oil for 4 to 5 weeks out. In December they wouldn't deliver my oil for up to 10 to 14 days because I wasn't low enough.(1/8) of tank??? So, I guess they must have started this conserve process back then. That's what I'm calling anyways. The girl on the phone yesterday tells me 1.) I can go somewhere else till cold snap is over. 2.) can put Kerosene or Diesel in my tank as needed till they can get there. 3.) Or close my account all together and go somewhere else. Which she said some of people were doing. So, I called Linda Ryan to verify and she pretty much in a nutshell said same thing. I asked if there was a shortage of trucks or oil. She said no, just that Automatic delivery people are getting oil first and they want to make sure they are taken care of first. So, I played the "game" called when I was down to a 1/8 of a tank this time so I wouldn't supposedly have to wait 14 days for oil and be told now you have to wait a month or better. WTH? Now I'm going to run out of oil in a week or less until I find a new delivery. Dead River buys them makes them bigger and now they can't deliver when it's cold? They should have a good amount of drivers compared to 30 years when they were a small oil company. If there was such a thing as oil discrimination, I would know what it feels like to be a part of the minority. Very disappointed @NOT VALUED OR NOT AUTOMATIC DELIVERY CUSTOMER!

Switching out individual breakers was no help so on a recommendation I called Quality Electric of Skowhegan. It was a holiday weekend but first thing on the next work day these guys called back and came out within the hour. They are polite, explained what they would do and fix the problem (a Maine 200amp breaker had burnt out) There prompt work saved a possible fire which would have required a way more expensive fix. I am now getting them to quote switching out the main load center to accommodate 12 more circuits

I called Augusta Natural Gas to get a quote to replace our water heater. A technician came out,…read morestood at the door for less than two minutes, confirmed that the water heater needed to be replaced, and left. He took a few pictures and that was it. He told me he would email me a quote. After waiting, I followed up with Augusta Natural Gas twice over the next two weeks because I still had not received anything. With no response, I ultimately went with another company. That company took the time to explain our options, provided a quote, and completed the replacement that same week. Three weeks later, Augusta Natural Gas finally sent me their quote -- which was approximately double what the other company charged. Then, a few weeks after that, I received a $140 bill for "labor" for the technician's less-than-two-minute visit. I called to explain the situation and try to resolve the charge. Unfortunately, the customer service experience was even more disappointing. I was yelled at, accused of lying, and told not to call again. I remained calm and respectful throughout the conversation and ultimately had to hang up. I understand that companies charge for service calls, but charging $140 for a visit that lasted less than two minutes, failing to provide the promised quote for three weeks, and then treating a customer this way when they call with a legitimate concern is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Augusta Natural Gas and will be taking my business elsewhere.

He called a little after noon said he would grab lunch and be right over. He quickly diagnosed the main problem and pointed put a couple things I had not noticed. He said he could right then or we could schedule for another time. I let him jump into it and left him alone to work. He finished it all up and gave me the bill. Absolutely terrible company to deal with. We purchased a new Wood burning fireplace, one of their…read moremost expensive, for our home and when they did the site visit, they did not measure correctly which we did not know until months later and construction had proceeded to the point of no return. When the unit arrived, they could not run the chimney under a beam that was always existing and known. It was also, apparently, on the drawing and despite them being a dealer for Regency they had zero understanding of how to install or the requirements for the fireplace. Long story short, I had to figure out the solution and did get it to fit, but Dave threw a grown man tantrum and decided to breach the install contract. In the end, he screwed up, refused to take 2 hours to come to our site and work out some details with the other contractors who were helping to fix their mistake, refused to accept responsibility for his mistake and then refused to refund money for equipment (chimney) that he did not supply. We are currently taking legal action because he will not provide the refund for the chimney despite the emails we have where, he offered to. It is ok because we have actually spent over $50,000 on additional HVAC, fireplaces and other contracts with their competitor Northern Energy Systems, who are real professionals, because they did not want to try to help get the job done. The new company we hired (to complete the installation of the fireplace they couldnt figure out how to install) thru Home Hardware in North Bay, were excellent and were able to solve the Chimney issue with very little extra effort. Dave's Heating just simply took zero time and effort to try and resolve the issue other than offering a refund...which they eventually did not follow thru with and ended up ripping us off $3k. I was also happy to spend extra money on construction changes to make the fireplace work. It boiled down to this entire conflict occurring because Dave would not come to the site, AT MY COST, to meet with the general contractor, to come up with a solution. Dave is a sad excuse for a business owner and an arrogant and selfish human being. I am sure the good reviews are for regular smooth contracts, but be warned, if things do not go his way or there is some situation where they make a mistake, they will rip you off and look out for themselves. I try to give out contracts to local companies being from the North, but this company belongs in the big city. We highly recommend Northern Energy Systems in Mattawa and North Bay Home Hardware instead of this company.
