Horrible!!! Used…read morethem for possibly 5 yrs servicing 4 different cars. They are good at general mechanics. But complex, No!!! Here are 4 situations that made me see new mechanics: 1.) 8 yrs ago, I overheated the engine and cracked the block on my 1984 Landcruiser. They rebuilt the engine, for about $8,000.00. While in the process, Tim claimed the bottom did not need rebuilding. So they closed up the engine. But I was now burning oil. 2 Qts/ 500 miles. They refused to fix the problem. Tim blamed that I told them to not rebuild the bottom end of the engine. (Ask him about it!) 2.) Just last month, Feb 2026, the catalytic converter on my Landcruiser started to fail. They installed that about 6yrs ago, for about $1,200.00. 3.) 2006 V70,Volvo had a small radiator leak. I brought it in each of the 2 times the Low Level light went on. Each time, they could not find the leak. The 3rd time I brought it in was because the radiator blew and the car overheated. I told them to check that I had not cracked the block before repairing the radiator. They repaired the radiator first., about $1,200.00. Then determined the block was cracked. (Rebuild by Swedish Motors was $6,000.00.) 4.) 2009 S80 Volvo. Had them look at this car to see if it was safe to buy, for my 17yr old daughter. The results of their inspection was "it's in great shape". 1 yr later the transmission went. And I found out that this was the one yr Volvo used a Ford impala transmission. No replacement parts, used or rebuilt transmissions were available, per Swedish Motors. I had to scrap the car. When I confronted Tim and Tyler that they should have known this about this model they said that was something I should have known about the car. NOTE: These guys do not deserve those big stickers on their front window that say Toyota and Volvo. Call me .... Dave Longmont, Co 720-745-9460

After…read morethe diagnosis, I was told it was a misfire and they would have to change spark plugs and swap the ignition switch wiring, and all would be fixed. I was charged $1042.91 and the engine light is still on, and no one seems to know what the problem really is! Labor alone was $788.58. The mechanic mentioned they might have to do deep dive and could cost me thousands more. The Jeep has 72500 miles on it. I fully expected my car to be repaired, and it's not, and Autosport has really no clue what is wrong. I have heard great things about them, but this is not right.

Got it back after a few short days and will be getting some further work done as time goes on. This truck had belonged to my former landlord whereupon his daughter sold it to me as the old boy had gone to a retirement facility. In his later years maintenance and repairs had been let go but being sturdy and strong running, I bought it and am slowly bringing it up to snuff and it is good in the event I should need to do any long distance traveling with it. . Attended the new shop opening, located just off I-25 and Colorado route 66, where I met Mr. Maggio's family and some of the other customers who call Hands On Autotech their home for vehicle repair and servicing. I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

So far both the new CV joints they replaced have had to be replaced, I am now having to replace the rear struts because either the strut or the installation was faulty. I will not return to Stonum Automotive to fulfill the warranty because I no longer trust their competency or their honesty. Several things make me wonder about their competency and/or honesty as when I decided to have another mechanic look at the car, one that has very high ratings, they found some questionable conditions in my car. One of these was a belt for the alternator- excuse my lack of mechanical knowledge, that was the wrong size. It was too small and near breaking. Was this incompetency or more? I don't know. But no matter what I will never go to Stonum automotive again. If I could give them a negative review I would. So far, I am having to pay another $2000 + to fix their incompetency. I had used Stonum for several years and feel my trust was totally betrayed. If I could give a negative review I'd give them a -10.

I would wager our family has spent tens of thousands of dollars over the decades at Steve's. As of today, we are all done and want to warn others. My nephew was overcharged and had mystery charges that Jeff, the new "general manager" refused to clarify. Jeff is rude, unprofessional in demeanor and presentation, and not at all general manager material. He is the stereotypical dishonest mechanic. I suspect he's strong arming Charles in a bid to either tank or take over the business. A small mechanic shop does not need a "general manager." All it takes is one bad apple to ruin a business, and that bad apple is, without a doubt, Jeff. Buyer beware. Jeff does not give a toss about this staple Longmont business, nor its customers. This general manager only cares about lining his pocket by hook or crook. There are some veteran owned mechanic shops in town.
