A new issue arose at my business this year so I called Oak Ridge Fence & Gate to see if they could assist because I was happy with their work that was done last year. When I called this time, I got Julie on the phone and she requested that we send her photos of the damage via text to which we did as she had requested. My assistant had a conversation with Julie and Julie told her that someone would be out at my business later that day or the following day to look at it in person and give us a quote for repairs. No one ever showed up. No one ever called and Julie never even confirmed she received the texted pictures. So since we heard nothing, we called Julie to follow up and to confirm whether or not she received the text/pictures. She was rambling on about the company moving locations or something like and that they would break more boards trying to repair the job and she eventually declined our job in a very unprofessional way, in our opinion. It sounded more like she had no clue on how to properly fix our problem. We feel in the very least Julie or a representative from Oak Ridge Fence & Gate could have acknowledged us or responded to the text we sent her per her request. We got nothing. No calls, no response, no one showed up. We found this to be highly unprofessional and we don't want to work with a company or a team who lacks communication skills.

Kathy in the office always got back to me with answers too. Julie, the owner, even came out to answer all my questions and explain the process. Wow, that woman has an eye for detail (and the patience of a saint). We ran into a problem on the neighbor's yard (shed in way), but no doubt I would have faith in moving forward with Oak Ridge once that is resolved by my neighbor. They were transparent, reliable, and kind and I will continue to recommend them.

Single worst experience I have ever had with a business…read more And I use the term "business" very loosely. I hired John Finn for a closet remodeling project that I thought to be pretty straightforward. John seemed knowledgeable throughout the bidding process and easy to communicate with. After getting quotes from a few different contractors we chose John. Boy do I wish I could hop in my Delorean, floor it until I hit 88mph and change that decision. Everything started out fine, and we were excited to get our new closet. Literally as soon as John had our money things went south. It was almost as if someone flipped a switch and he turned in to this unresponsive, unprofessional jerk. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The project was quoted to take 5-7 days. 2 months later the project was still not finished. John Finn had absolutely no idea what he was doing. The subcontractor he hired for the electrical work did such a poor job that they had to completely rip out the wires and start over to prevent a disaster. My family is lucky that our condo didn't burn to the ground due to John's negligence. To make matters worse he invited someone into our home that stole our property. A subcontractor hired by John stole my wife's tablet. When we confronted John about the missing tablet, he surprisingly acted like a professional and promised to either recover the tablet or replace it within the next three days. A very reasonable response. After waiting the three days I tried to call John Finn to discuss the tablet, he didn't answer. He went on to ignore over 13 calls and texts the next 24 hours until he finally responded with a voicemail. He said, and I quote, "I bought a new tablet, I hope you are happy. This ruined my day. I had to leave a job just to buy the tablet." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I am sorry it was such an inconvenience that he had to replace something he was directly responsible for it being stolen. Not only was he unprofessional, but he became very hostile and aggressive. At one point I overheard him talking to one of his subcontractors about wanting to physically assault me. It got to the point where my wife and I thought we needed to change the locks to our home. I ended up having to finish the project myself after he stopped showing up. A complete nightmare. I urge anyone who ever comes in contact with John Finn to immediately turn and run as fast and far away as possible. I can only hope that this review helps prevent this from happening to someone in the future.
