We had the murder mystery lunch and she accommodated a vegan and 2 vegetarians and as had tomato bisque, scones and sandwiches. We also had a peach cobbler dessert. At 6, we had a ghost hunter named Bob and his wife give us a tour and tell us stories, it was really interesting and they were a lot of fun. The mansion is absolutely beautiful and breakfast was so good! We would all come back.

I had my bridal shower here and it was the cutest, sweetest, most perfect tea party…read more Let's start with the important things: food. The scones are the best renditions I've found this side of the Atlantic. I consider myself to be an amateur scone connoisseur after eating plenty on trips abroad (would that just be called an American that eats scones? ), and these scones were amazing. They were presented with clotted cream, which is a rarity in America. None of that mattered to the rest of my party - they loved the scones independently. They are that good. Apart from that, we were served cucumber sandwiches, strawberry sandwiches, tea and coffee on china perfectly patterned for a tea party in a 1900s-era mansion. Following, we had soup and salad, both of which were very good. The staff was attentive, the food was good, the atmosphere was adorable. Again, don't miss the scones. The mansion is beautiful. Apart from impressive architecture, much is original or has been restored in the time period. It's so pretty, and as many of the guest rooms were empty on this particular day, the staff was happy to let us tour. Holly, one of the owners, even gave us a brief history lesson of the place, including her personal ghost stories. She was quick to note that the Lapeer Historical Society presents a tour of the Peters Mansion, so she is not the authority on the history, but was happy to answer what questions she could. They're working on restoring the ballroom on the third floor! I can only imagine. And we're planning on returning for that. We learned that they're open most Saturdays for visitors (which we never knew) and plan on returning with some other family members for that, too. The staff allowed our party to continue for a few hours, allowing us to enjoy our time and never rushed us. They even jumped in to offer to take group pictures! They were just nice people, and you could tell that they enjoyed entertaining in the beautiful mansion. Highly recommend. I'm sad we didn't do this earlier and plan to make it a tradition!

This B&B far surpassed my expectations and I was so happy my husband surprised me with this stay for my birthday. The animals were so adorable (Sally tried to kiss my hubby!), the house had such a beautiful antique feel, and the bedroom was cozy and comfy. Even the bathroom was luxurious in its own way - but the best part was the breakfast. Maureen clearly has amazing skills in the kitchen. Even though the food itself was simple, the flavors were well balanced and perfectly seasoned. She is also very tentative and when our car failed us, she loaned us her truck so my birthday dinner want ruined. How many B&B owners would do that for complete strangers? That's God at work people. It brought a tear to my eye. All in all, this was a great birthday weekend and we WILL be coming back!

During the year, it hosts regular dinners downstairs for a nominal fee and the rest of the space is utilized throughout the year for public and private events, including club dinners, weddings/receptions, art/craft guild shows, etc. I've eaten here before, and while I tend to have a picky palette, the food is not bad at all. They are frequently rented out for some type of party or entertainment event, so I don't think that you have to be a member to do so. I attended a fairly large arts/crafts showcase here the weekend after Thanksgiving last year and there was plenty of space to house all of the vendors and their wares, while allowing for crowds to shop and look without knocking anything over or running into each other. It was very well run.

What once was an auditorium held the reception and it was pretty with high ceilings but again lacked much character. A ton of white everywhere. So brides/grooms need to bring in a lot of lighting and decorations to make the place theirs. Food was amazing. Buffet style. Food was hot and plentiful. Bar tenders and staff were friendly and attentive. Made great drinks! Bathrooms were updated and clean. Small cramped parking lot that was tricky to navigate. Wasn't that clear where to enter or how to get to the ceremony in the patio area. Overall, enjoyed ourselves.

Also, there are no drink carts or halfway houses. You only have one small area to park after 9 holes at the club house and the choices are very limited. As far as the actual golf course, there are too many holes that are just short, layup drives. The greens read pretty true but lacked true speed and the sand traps, even though well maintained, were hard and compressed. Not worth the price

The main road entrance starts with a welcome sign to Pine Knob Golf Course. The winding road will lead you pass the greens with golfers, then several expensive residential homes. There are two venue banquet buildings called The Carriage and this one called The Pine Knob Mansion. Both have valet parking service at their entrance doors. My photos attached will show how wonderful this place was from start to finish. The ceremony was outside in the Garden Gazebo area overlooking the ski lifts and property of Pine Knob with fold up chairs on the grass area. This venue can accommodate all seasons of the year for many memorable and personal events. The outdoor brick patio was large enough for both cocktail hour after ceremony and again in the evening with a DJ for music and dancing. The Bride and Groom performed their special dances together on it plus with their parents. The wedding and party time continued till midnight! The efficient servers were very attentive when eating the plated sit-down dinner. They also served refill of waters quickly too. The Formal banquet room was very elegant with Chiavari Chairs, along with great lighting. Check out my attached photos of Jess and Phil's special and lovely wedding which expresses it all! The Food was Fantastic and Oh My Deeeelicious along with Great plate presentation! This location can be found on The Knot and has different price packages based on your event for food and desserts. My Friends Phi and Jess opted to bring in their own seasonal desserts with cider and donuts along with mini parfait desserts for that special Fall Style Theme. My photos attached shows a wooden wall with pegs on it for displaying the variety of donuts. What a wonderful and impeccable wedding venue for Phil & Jessica. Thanks to the terrific and pleasant staff who showed teamwork working together serving here at The Pine Knob Mansion. Sincerely, Karen N. SpecialK :-)

It was really nice to be sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant and it was pretty cool to sit inside of this vault. Our server was great! He kept coming by cracking jokes and making sure that we had enough to drink. The Tilefish dish I had was okay. It was on special that night and I was expecting it to be some big showing for the market price it was listed at. The piece was pretty small, rice was mushy, and the sauce had no flavor to it really. The fish was great though, so the main part of the dish was great at least! I had multiple cocktails, one being an espresso martini which was excellent! Overall a great place though. The service was decent and our server was knowledgeable about the specials and menu in general. The food and drinks were hit or miss. The burgers, truffle fries, and oysters were a hit. The beet salad was bland. The espresso martini was pretty but did not impress, other drinks like the lemon drops were pretty good.
