I was told one of the owners, the friendly one, is having health issues and cannot work - that is why the store is going downhill. It's definitely still worth a visit ;-).

Very disappointed with my recent visit. I've shopped here before without issue, but this experience…read morewas completely different. First, Google listed the opening time as 10 a.m., but the store did not open until 11. We had driven from Baltimore to get ahead of bad weather, tried calling multiple times, and found the voicemail full. There's no website to confirm hours, so we were left guessing whether to wait. Once inside, we spent nearly two hours selecting eight fabrics for multiple projects. Many fabrics were not priced, and the single employee cutting fabric had to repeatedly walk to the front of the store to ask the owner for pricing or answers to basic questions, which made the process extremely slow. The final issue was a large-print fabric that had deep slashes running several yards into the roll, along with visible black marks. I asked that the damaged portion be cut off or that cutting begin from the other end of the roll. The owner refused and told me that if I didn't like it, I didn't have to buy it, stating multiple times that they are a "for profit store." I have over 50 years of experience buying fabric and have never been expected to pay for clearly damaged yardage. We ultimately walked out without purchasing anything, leaving eight rolls at the cutting table--well over $1,000 in sales lost. It's disappointing to see how much this store has changed. It was once staffed by knowledgeable, helpful people who wanted to assist customers. I won't be returning.

I purchased a fall wreath with the sign saying 80% off. It was only 50% off. This happened with other things I purchased. The cashiers were nasty when I questioned it. I spoke to the mgr. I even took the sign down and showed her. This in no way was her fault. I was pleasant and completely sympathetic with her. GA Joann doing the liquidation. They are responsible for ALL of the deception. DO NOT think you are going to get the reduced price you think you are getting. Take your time at check out and question each item that is rung up before you purchase. I will not be going back and will not be buying from any retail store that is owned by this group.

Instead of measuring out the fabric using the machine (sitting right next to the cutting table) that transfers the yardage from one bolt to another so that the fabric does not get wrinkled, the employee measured the fabric out on the cutting table by hand. 432 inches of 54" wide fabric. She then bunched up the fabric into a big pile and handed it to me. I asked her why she had not used the measuring/rolling machine and she said because she wasn't trained on it. I know Joann is in bankruptcy so i have low expectations in general, but this was really worse than I have ever expected. If you can't be a real fabric store, then just sell fake flowers, Valentine decorations, and finger paint and call it a day.
