Very disappointed with my recent visit. I've shopped here before without issue, but this experience was completely different. First, Google listed the opening time as 10 a.m., but the store did not open until 11. We had driven from Baltimore to get ahead of bad weather, tried calling multiple times, and found the voicemail full. There's no website to confirm hours, so we were left guessing whether to wait. Once inside, we spent nearly two hours selecting eight fabrics for multiple projects. Many fabrics were not priced, and the single employee cutting fabric had to repeatedly walk to the front of the store to ask the owner for pricing or answers to basic questions, which made the process extremely slow. The final issue was a large-print fabric that had deep slashes running several yards into the roll, along with visible black marks. I asked that the damaged portion be cut off or that cutting begin from the other end of the roll. The owner refused and told me that if I didn't like it, I didn't have to buy it, stating multiple times that they are a "for profit store." I have over 50 years of experience buying fabric and have never been expected to pay for clearly damaged yardage. We ultimately walked out without purchasing anything, leaving eight rolls at the cutting table--well over $1,000 in sales lost. It's disappointing to see how much this store has changed. It was once staffed by knowledgeable, helpful people who wanted to assist customers. I won't be returning. read more

If you are looking for upholstery fabric, this is the place. There are bolts upon bolts in several rooms. Staff is pleasant. Was greeted by an older lady who asked if she could help me. I told her I was looking for apparel fabric which she said she doesn't carry But since I made the drive out there I looked around. Glancing at some of the prices, they were in line with the few remaining fabric stores. Plus, there was a large selection of trims . Haute Fabrics! What a wonderland of options! I never could have bought the fabrics that I chose in a retail shop. The fabrics are well organized and the staff knows exactly where everything is. Also, very helpful in finding just what you are looking for. With a business mind and the artistic vision, this is the only place I found to be competent as well as very well stocked. The options of fabrics, trim, tassels, etc. is almost overwhelming! With so many choices, who can decide without their helpful advise? It is well worth the trip to the business just to look at the art that is in the fabrics and notions! I have found it the only place to find designer fabrics at a reasonable price. As promised, I returned since it was time to redo my couch. I was on the mailing list so I went when they had a fabric sale. They were helpful in choosing a fabric. I showed measurements and we arranged pickup and potential delivery dates when done. When they came to pick it up we had some challenges getting it out the door. But I promised to take the door of when it was delivered back to me. The workmanship on the couch was EXCELLENT! Not only did they cover it, but they changed the foam, updated the tacks, and touched up the wood frame. It was an A++ job!! The covering was so professional and they matched the pattern perfectly. Before, during, and after there was a lot of communication about the job and how it would be done. I liked that. I mentioned I wanted the arm covers when I placed the order but somehow that got lost in communication. They quickly rectified the situation. The made them and sent them by mail. Communication was a bit of a three-way the whole time. I'd call the store and miss him. Then they would talk to their guy and he would call me but I'd miss him, etc. but all worked out. Highly recommend this place if you are recovering your couch. A lot of love, pride, and workmanship goes into what they do. read more

I had a laughing fit over these yelp reviews. It was likely because of my husbands narration in his best Karen voice, but I could not wait to go to this store. Y'all we had the best time in there! We were planning to pick some boring fabric for our chairs and wound up with this super funky/cool fabric. We love it! The woman helping us was so great. She was so into the whole process and we had such a good time. It is overwhelming in there but what isn't? We jumped in and just started going through it all. It was a good time. First and foremost I waited to see if I was less angry so this was 6 months ago and I still think this was some of the worst customer care I have ever experienced. Went in to find chair fabric. Had to ask for help after being ignored. Explained what we wanted down to the rub count and blend. Was then told the fabric in front was "too expensive" for us. We were taken to the large warehouse area had the very clear color areas pointed out, told they didn't know what the fabrics were made out of, and then abandoned. The staff are extremely cordial and accommodating. I needed to select material for my dining room chairs that would not only compliment the new color of the walls but stay resistant to my cat trying to claw the seat. This dining room set belonged to my mother and I wanted to get as close as I could in a design material without having to give up the claw resisting factor. It was a great success and they recommended places to get the foam padding for the chairs. They recovered the bench seat at the end of my bed last year and did a beautiful job. read more

But after going to all the usual places to find upholstery fabric, only to find a paltry and disappointing selection at Hobby Lobby and Jo Ann's, I gave this place a try. Glad I did! Walking in, there is every fabric that was ever made in this store. If it's not here, it doesn't exist. I rarely need fabric, so didn't know where to go. I was designing a home theater and needed some fabric for audio panels. This place made the difference in the outcome of my theater! Had read the reviews and even tho many were negative, it was closer than anywhere else and was on my way to CostCo! :) Gotta say, either they've hired new people or just changed their attitude, the staff and owner couldn't have been more helpful. Prices are fine, and nearly everything was marked. Hard to see everything they have, but it's organized as well as can be expected with THAT much fabric. Went today for the first time to check it out, I was immediately greeted by a small dog in a sweater and both ladies working in the front of the shop. Haute Fabric has the most amazingly beautiful fabric with great pricing. The staff is very nice and helpful. But I spent about $1000 with Haute to have them make me custom chair cushions. The material they used inside the cushions are sub-par. After sitting on the cushions just a few times, they feel like I have had them for 20 years; they feel flat and provide little comfort. After reading the comments about the rude owner I still decided to give this store a try. I arrived at this store 20 minutes prior to closing. The lights were dim, but not off and there was a car parked in front of the store. I noticed a woman parked with glasses half off her face angrily staring at me. I waved and asked if it was her store, she proceeded to lock her doors and started her car...I went to the door to see if the store was still opened, it was locked. On my way back to my car she asked me what I needed (at a fabric store). I told her I needed leather and linen fabric, she asked what I was using it for, what color I need. After interrogating me for wanting to spend my money at her store I told her not to worry about and I'd shop somewhere else. FYI, I'm a black male, I pulled in driving a recently released escalade and dressed in business casual. I love this place! The only reason I didn't end up buying anything was because there were so many options that I had to go home and think about it. This store is NOT for the faint at heart. It's for people who want GREAT fabrics for a fraction of what they'd cost retail. Yes, you have to sort through STACKS and STACKS of bolts of fabrics. As an interior designer, I recognize many fabrics and know they're being given away compared to what you'd pay at a design center. HOW and WHY? Because they are overruns and some colors may (or may not be) slightly off. Even the best mills need to make room for more production. Be prepared to come, buy and TAKE what you want with you. No need to wait for the fabric to arrive or not. I'm sold. Haute can recommend workrooms for curtains and upholstery. Do not be put off by its sometimes chaotic feel. It's wonderful. read more

Larger store than the past stores!!!! Stocked rolls of fabric to purchase at the store and take with you. Be ready to dig through rolls of fabric. It is a treasure hunt, but you will find that jewel. Found high end designer fabrics: Romo, Kravet Couture, Robert Allen, Scalamandre, Brunschwig and Fils, Clarance House etc. They will give decorating advice and pulled together a room for me. Their upholster and seamstress helped complete my living room. Now working on my dining room. Small staff so have patience but they do wonderful design work and suggestions. Prices you will like!!! Horrible, rude and deceptive customer service. After spending $5,000 there in the past two years, I ordered some chair cushions to be made. Haute contacted me once and said they would have to increase the price by $5 dollars per cushion--I said fine. Then they completely changed the design and tried to charge me triple the initial quote and I gave then a $300 deposit I will not get back.
