Love this store!!!! Wonderful discount quality home decor fabrics. Shopped here for years and have followed the store through many Location. Huge selection of upholstery, drapery, trims and cording. Larger store than the past stores!!!! Stocked rolls of fabric to purchase at the store and take with you. Be ready to dig through rolls of fabric. It is a treasure hunt, but you will find that jewel. Found high end designer fabrics: Romo, Kravet Couture, Robert Allen, Scalamandre, Brunschwig and Fils, Clarance House etc. They will give decorating advice and pulled together a room for me. Their upholster and seamstress helped complete my living room. Now working on my dining room. Small staff so have patience but they do wonderful design work and suggestions. Prices you will like!!! Great store since there are no more fabric stores around. Don't like to shop on line, because you can't feel and see the fabric. Here it is all here. Linen, velvets, mohair, silks, cotton twill, wool, blends, indoor/outdoor, high performance fabrics, leather hides, decor pillows, pillow inserts and trims!!! read more

Horrible, rude and deceptive customer service. After spending $5,000 there in the past two years, I ordered some chair cushions to be made. Haute contacted me once and said they would have to increase the price by $5 dollars per cushion--I said fine. Then they completely changed the design and tried to charge me triple the initial quote and I gave then a $300 deposit I will not get back. They were rude and would not call me back or even try to meet me in the middle. DO NOT GO HERE read more

Today I received the true 'black girl' experience. I would never expect such racism in Northern VA! The owner and/or store manager walked right past me without greeting me and looked annoyed when I asked for help. She almost had an attitude and seemed to be inconvenienced and annoyed. Never again will I visit this junk store in which fabric is sold. NO THANKS!!!! As a fellow business owner, I would recommend a class or two in customer service or even a general business degree. read more

Great fabric, great prices, horrible customer service. They are rude like others have said. Very disappointed since it's such a nice shop.

This place is TERRIBLE! I liked the "old world"-ness when I initially walked in, but down hill fast from there. They have a small poodle, that uses the store as its toilet. Yes...toilet. Customers have to watch for land mines as you're walking through the chaos that is Haute. Wow! Before we encounter this particular disgust, I was puzzled that as we walked by the employees, not one of the 3 people who worked there bothered to greet us. Once we saw the dog crap on the floor in the back part of the store, right next to the yards of fabric that's for sale...I though to myself "do I really want to buy fabric that has probably been pissed and crapped on?" Seriously disgusted! read more

Store opened in south riding va. Went in to purchase a couple remnants. Asked employee prices as I entered. After 30 min selecting 2 pcs I was told to go to register manned by store owner. She could not get computer to work for 15 min and finally quoted me a price- twice what it should have been. When I questioned I was told she is the owner and contrary to what the employee quoted this was the price. She was Very nasty, absolutely no concern for customer service or my wasted time. Obviously I will not waste time at this establishment again read more

They do have some nice fabric at good prices. The store is organized so poorly it is hard to describe and the owner is the nastiest laziest person I have ever met I recently called the shop to see if they had something in stock before I set out on the 45 minute drive to chantilly. They said they did and when I got there they didn't. The nasty lazy owner simply said you can't expect me to know everything that is in stock. No apology no nothing just a nasty lazy attitude. I will never shop there again read more

I can't speak to price. The selection is pretty good. The service is so-so. The cluster-eff of fabric, on the other hand, made me have a panic attack. It's clean, but it's just so crowded and nuts. I don't think I could go back in without a valium. No joke. read more

Stocked with lots of upholstery fabric. Traditional, new, mod, trims, and leather options. Crowded, but staff very knowledgeable. Service is slow. read more

I have been a customer at Haute for many years. There is no other place you can go and find greater selections of fabrics. They also carry leather in many great colors and so much more. The staff is very friendly and help you find whatever you like and also have great suggestions to make your project even better. The trims are incredible and would only be available to the trade if it wasn't for Haute. Prices are wholesale or less at times. I guarantee you will find what you are looking for. I had two armchairs reupholstered and the results where better than when I had it done by Calico. read more

I love this fabric store. Personnel are so friendly and they have a very good selection of fabrics in so many colors. The quality of the fabrics are good for the money. read more

LOVE this place! It is a bit daunting and I was feeling overwhelmed trying to find a specific fabric and color. Roxene helped me, directed me right to the spot, we pulled out several bolts, ALL were beautiful, picked one and was out the door. Come with a little time on your hands, does not always go fast but definitely worth it. I alos suggest going once and not buy so you can get accustomed to the process. Be sure to check out the remnants, unbelievable. read more

Roxanne is the best--and all those amazing fabrics! I can't believe her prices either! So much lower than the design center and the highest quality. I'm so glad I found her. read more

Love Haute Fabrics! Found gorgeous fabric here and staff was tremendously helpful! Prices were very reasonable and the selection and quality were almost overwhelming amazing! read more

If you have not been to Haute Fabrics, you're missing out. It's a designer's paradise open to the public, located in a bright, spacious warehouse in Chantilly. Haute's warehouse is stocked with fabulous designer fabrics at heavily discounted prices. High end fabrics regularly retailing in the hundreds can be found at under $ 30.00 a yard. Unbelievable! In addition to selling fabrics Haute sells trims, remnants and ready-made pillows. Other services include upholstery, custom draperies and design consultations. Roxene Hill, the owner has been in business for over 25 years and is well respected. Haute's long time staff is friendly, helpful and aims to please. Patience is sometime in order on a busy day, but it is worth it!! Don't miss out on the fabulous fabrics; once they are gone, they are gone! read more

Just visited Haute Fabrics for the first time. What a great place! A mind-boggling selection, all organized by color, and, to a certain extent, by fabric type. The staff could not have been more helpful with pricing, clipping swatches, and lifting large bolts out for me to see. I came away with a perfect bolt of velvet for my sofa project, and a handful of swatches for picking that just-right color for my chairs. I'll be back soon. Also - very clean, tidy, nicely organized. Absolutely no indication of the mess or dirtiness mentioned in other reviews. I think they must be from older, previous locations. This Chantilly location is huge and easy to use. read more

Great fabric selection. Well organized and the sales people were super helpful and nice.

Have been to the new location in Chantilly three times now, and will not return. The owner is nasty& autocratic. Nothing is priced until you express interest in it, & then the owner is the arbiter of the price, and size of your cutting (using a hand-held tape measure while she handles the fabric vertically, rather than laid on a cutting table!!!) leaving you in a take-it-or-leave it position....you must shop having no idea what price range you are in, which makes no sense. I will say the shop is organized by color, and it's fun to see all the fabrics and trims, but I just can't justify supporting such a poorly run "system." Also, owner's dogs reside at the register behind dog gates--not the cleanest or tidiest of situations, especially for anyone with allergies. read more

Had an amazing experience at Haute yesterday. This store is so fantastically organized - lets face it folks the fabric is a bargain. Romero helped me and he was absolutely the most delightful person ever. Thank you Romero. Have not as yet used their fabrication services so cannot attest to that experience. Will be back! read more

This place is awful as is the way the owner treated me. I have followed them for years and they move about every few years. Each store was disorganized, cluttered, with bolts 5 feet thick stacked and you could not see what was there. Each time the stores were filthy, disorganized and she has two dogs that live there so the smells of urine and who knows what else was very unpleasant. That should have told me a lot years ago. But I went in early spring hoping to save on 40 yards of fabric to reupholster my sofa. The owner, Roxene, encouraged me to order a fabric since they did not have what I needed. She said it would take not take longer than 8 weeks and I told her I had an event I was working towards. I placed the order through the designer I was working with. When I called Roxene to follow up weeks later she purported not to have gotten the check so she did not order the fabric. Of course my designer had sent her a check and had proof. Could she not have told her she did not get the check knowing this was time sensitive? Roxene knew we were trying to make a deadline for a big event. My designer had to give her a credit card but more weeks were lost before the order went in, or did it? Roxene quoted me $45/yard for the fabric. Roxene assured me she placed the order and all was well, or so I thought. I waited 8.5 weeks heard nothing and called Roxene to find out the status. She would not answer my calls or my emails. My designer tried as well many times, and she would not answer her calls either. Why would she all of a sudden go from normal interactions to ignoring us? Finally, I went to the store, and she seemed to get pale when she saw me. Roxene rudely acted like she was busy although the customer she was helping told her at least three times she could go on and help me while she looked around some more. But Roxene refused to do so and I waited patiently with this rude treatment. But it was clear Roxene did not want to face me. You would think I had done something to her. Upon facing me I asked Roxene why she was not taking my calls and she started to give random excuses that had nothing to do with reality. I knew she had caller ID and it was clear she was not picking up, (or answering my voice messages) when she saw my name or my designer's. Her excuses had no merit - she complained that I was calling her every day. I was calling to find out after over two months as she promised where my fabric was and the deadline to get the sofa upholstered was drawing near my event. Had she answered our calls we would not have to call every day. She acted very suspicious and would not answer my simple question "where is my fabric" or "did you order my fabric" or "can you call the mill and tell me the status". At some point she offered to give the designer her money back because "it was not worth it". I now understand the truth and why she would make this uncharacteristic offer. Although Roxene would not tell me the mill from which the fabric was coming I found out it was American Mills in PA. I called them directly to find out the status and they would not tell me if they had my order. I found this very strange but I now understand why. She had never placed the order and the mill did not want to get in the middle. And after this ordeal the regional rep for the mill indicated the price quoted per yard was almost at cost. So Roxene probably quoted me the wrong price, and never placed an order, meanwhile, I had been waiting for months and she was lying. Needless to say, she cost me time and the sofa never made it to the event. And I will also say that for the price and the fabric quality that I was getting from her I did much better price and quality wise from a reputable fabric house. The fabric I had ordered from her did to even have a coating and was a loose weave so that the rep suggested since it was for upholstery and everyday use it must be coated for durability. Of course Roxene never told me that. Thank god I did not get it. So the bottom line is be careful of her practices and the prices are not as discounted as you might expect. Someone reviews that some of the fabrics are "given away" but this is not true. If you find a remnant piece it may be cheaper, but it has to be enough to do your job. You have to understand textiles to know what you are buying. Do you know about durability or appropriateness of a fabric on a bolt for your application? Don't trust what they tell you or you'll find out the hard way your "bargain" fabric job has to be redone. if you don't know what you are buying how do you know it is a bargain? Nothing is given away, in fact as I found out, just the opposite is true. read more

Please do NOT contract for any services with Haute Fabrics (owner Roxene Hill). I ordered a bedroom ensemble (canopy, drapes, bolster, headboard, bedskirt, coverlet and pillows) and it took 2 years plus to receive SOME of the items. Roxene claimed the delay was my fault but every time I called to inquire about the status of my order, Roxene did not respond to my phone calls. All of a sudden, I was expected to pay the balance in full before installation which was contrary to my contract which was to make installment payments (which I did) and the last payment after installation. When I paid the balance in full, it was with the written promise from Roxene, that she would make any corrections after installation but that did not happen. Roxene reneged on her written word and did not see the installation to completion, did not deliver what was ordered, and did not address any concerns I had with correcting the errors. The errors included a missing bedskirt, wrong fabric for the bolster, headboard that was not as per contract and drapes that were not installed so that sheers could be placed underneath as per many initial conversations with Roxene. After installation, when Roxene did not respond to my inquiries, 3rd parties were involved for resolution and Roxene was not honest and very evil spirited. She went from being friendly initially to a nightmare. My advise to you is to "RUN FORREST RUN" as fast as you can from Haute Fabrics and Roxene Hill. read more

They advertised their "going out of business" sale in Marshall, VA and ended up closing a day earlier than advertised. I met several other disappointed customers who had driven over an hour for the sale. Disappointing. The Arlington location has great fabric, but the owner's dogs who run around the store are a huge turnoff for me when shopping for fine fabrics. read more

I went in last night right before closing and I was worried that they would be upset that I was coming so close to closing, but instead they welcomed me! Really great experience! read more

Horrible experience purchasing curtains. What was supposed to take 4 weeks took 4 months and they still got the order wrong.! They lost the fabric, then they didn't put the rod order in, and then the wrong rods were delivered. While this was occurring there were no apologies only vague and somewhat rude excuses. The only reason I didn't give them one star is because the fabrics themselves are lovely and affordable. Bottom line: buy the fabrics BUT DO NOT use them for ANY finished product! read more

Love this store! It can be challenging moving around to look at the all the fabric because it is packed! Fabric selection and trim is vast and staff is helpful. Please note, the Arlington location closed he end of May 2016 and supposedly their new location will be somewhere in Chantilly. Bummer for me cause that's a long way to drive to browse for fabric. read more

Great fabric store if you're into a treasure hunt-type experience. There's a lot to find, and the staff is very helpful, so give yourself plenty of time to browse and discover something unexpected. I spent an hour here but could have easily stayed a few more. Left with a great full hide of leather at a very reasonable price and intentions to visit again. Wholly recommended. read more

In comparison to the Marshall Va location, Arlington is a whole lot easier to navigate and not overwhelming like Marshall. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Don't go looking for rock bottom prices, but it's mostly high end fabrics so it's a whole lot better than retail. I travel from Pennsylvania and will always make this a stop when I am taking a long weekend in DC/Georgetown. It's worth the trip. read more

Huge selection of gorgeous fabrics. I selected a gold silk fabric for a bedspread to go with red and gold silk pillows I had brought back from Beijing. Haute Fabrics is a treasure, a must-see destination both for the lucky few in greater Washington who have easy access to it, and for visitors who should not miss it when traveling through northern Virginia. Beyond its unassuming facade, you will find that Haute's helpful owner, Roxene, has packed the store to the rafters with the most incredible fabrics from the likes of Brunschwig & Fils, Cowtan & Tout, and many more, at BARGAIN BASEMENT prices. Whether you need many yards for upholstery or drapery, or just a remnant scrap for pillows, Haute offers it. Sifting through the bolts of fabric, each arranged by color, is like a fun archaeological dig through the great fabric house storerooms. Pulling back each bolt reveals something even more wonderful than before. Normally, design enthusiasts usually have to hire an interior designer even to access these fabrics, where they cost (at wholesale) many times the prices that Roxene charges. For those wondering where industry insiders go to get the most amazing items at the best prices, this is it. Run -- don't walk -- to Haute, and treat yourself to fabric you'd only encounter in Architectural Digest, at the prices of JoAnn's. read more

High end fabrics at bottom of the barrel prices! Owner is generally there and really friendly and knowledgeable. Just ask!

Phenomenal selection of fabrics--current styles without the out-of-date fabrics that some other huge warehouses have. The organization and layout by color and type makes honing in on your desired selection manageable, not overwhelming. The owner went above and beyond to help me locate specific fabric sample that I brought in from a furniture store and offered several terrific suggestions. The prices are beyond compare. Check it out! read more

Went to the Marshall store to see what they had because I heard you could get a great deal on high end fabrics. Well that atmosphere is not for me. They have a tendency to be curt with you when you ask questions. They need to realized not everybody is versed in interior design. The fabric rolls were stacked on end just thrown into room after room. While looking, bolts of fabric fell over on me. It's a good thing I'm not old or frail because I would have been hurt. I called for help but nobody came so I just started throwing the bolts off of me before an unstable bookcase behind me started to fall. In my opinion, it's not worth it. read more
