In desperation I went back to one of the local places that said it was not worth fixing as there was a rust hole about the size of a quarter. I dropped it off at Judson's to fix a broken pully and it was done in 3 days. I called Thomaston Power Equipment and explained the situation and they suspected the issue is related to fuel gunk in the system.
