I was done doing labs at the hospital. I told my husband let's go get breakfast and we made our way in. I love love love how darling this venue is. It's bright, fun and girly. I adore the decor. It's a smaller venue so the space is cute and dainty. Even though it's a smaller venue, tables and booths are nicely spaced out. You're not on top of each order. I can imagine this place being crazy on the weekends so I'm happy we decided to try this place out on a Monday. It was chill. Our server got some coffee and apple juice started for us while we looked over the menu. Everything looked so good! For brunch my husband got the Brunch trio. He picked cinnamon roll French toast, a cinnamon roll and some eggs. I got the sunrise sampler with cinnamon roll French toast. I had to try a little bit of everything. I also snagged a side of country gravy for my potatoes. Food came out really fast and it all looked fantastic! The cinnamon roll French toast was so fragrant. My husband's cinnamon roll looked divine. And the sunrise sampler was all about business! It was hearty! If you ever eat here, the cinnamon roll French toast is a must! It's crispy on the outside topped with butter and cinnamon sugar dust. The inside is soft and warm. Killer good! I did take a bite of my husband's cinnamon roll. It was mehhh. But I think if it was served warm, it would have been that much better. It was cold, dry and stiff. The bacon and sausage on my plate were cooked perfectly! My eggs were great and the potatoes were tasty! I do wish that the country gravy was not lumpy. I couldn't get over the lumps in the gravy from it sitting. I had about a couple spoons of it and couldn't eat it. It looked esthetically displeasing. Breakfast was good. Aspen did a decent job taking care of us. The venue is super charming. But the cinnamon roll was cold and honestly tasted like it wasn't freshly baked. The country gravy was lumpy and not very hot. It sucked to pay for a side of it and not enjoy it. Overall our visit was great. I don't know when we will be back but the cinnamon roll French toast will be a must have the next time we come in.

My coffee was fresh and hot. It's the perfect breakfast for me. My side of fruit was ok. The banana was pre cut so it looked kinda funky since it probably had been sitting for a bit. My orange and apple slices looked good. I did just have a couple orange slices. I have to be careful with produce and I didn't know if the apples were properly cleaned so I didn't want to risk it. The apple slices liked fresh and I'm pretty sure they were good. The venue is very cute and bright. I love the chalk artwork on the blackboard. They were even completely out of bread except for rye -- which I actually took as a great sign that everything is made fresh and in high demand. The ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful, and the sandwich was so good that I came back just a few days later to get another one. They also have a ton of milk tea options. The deli itself is tucked inside a cute older yellow house with a small, cozy setup -- one table and a handful of bar seats. It has a laid-back neighborhood feel that fits the place perfectly. Our server, Carolyn greeted us and got us some drinks started while we looked over the menu. The menu is very simple. A couple pages for breakfast with a handful of lunch items. A good variety of espresso based drinks and your basic beverages. Sometimes it's nice too have a small menu. It makes making food decisions easy! For breakfast I got the create your own omelet. My son got to create his own breakfast plate. I had to double check with the server on how to create this omelet. Most places gives you 3 options or so for your omelet than the rest is an add on. Not here. They list off 10 or so add ins and you can literally add every one of them if you wanted. For 12 bucks..... I got a 3 egg omelet with green peppers, onions, spinach, potatoes, mushrooms, steak, cheese and sour cream. Bro, that would be a 25 dollar omelet easy at some places in town. I got that heavy weight for 12 dollars! My son was not a crazy as me and got pancakes, egg, bacon with a biscuit. I can't begin to tell you that the size of my omelet was comparable to the size of my calf. It we massive! Stuffed with everything that I love. The steak was tender, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, I appreciate that the veggies were sautéed. I got a massive side of sour cream for it. It was so good! I ate about half and took the other half home for later. My son of course enjoyed his bacon, eggs and pancakes. He was so full that he didn't get to try the biscuit. But from looking at it, you can tell that bad boy was homemade. It was hefty! I love that I got to check this new joint out. It's only been open for 4 months. Our server was really young and made some rookie mistakes. My son and I barely had 3 bites of our food before our bill was dropped off. As slow as it was, I didn't even get a refill on my coffee or wasn't even asked how our food was before the bill was dropped off. Not the best move in my opinion but she's young and still learning the industry. The bill could have been dropped off with our boxes. The steak was tender but there were several pieces of hard gristle in my omelet. Not the most fun thing to chew. And it's a personal thing for me with plastic table covers. I understand that it keeps the table clothes clean but I just not a fan of eating on them. Overall, this venue is very pretty and welcoming. The staff is super nice. They have a little bit of everything here from desserts, unlimited variety of espresso drinks, breakfast and lunch. I read somewhere that this place was voted Idaho's best sandwich, so I made sure to give it a try before leaving town. The menu was surprisingly small, as is the inside. I asked the employee which sandwich was the most popular, and he pointed me towards his favorite -- the Caribbean Pork. It was ready in about 5 minutes. The sandwich was simply delicious and I found myself savoring every bite. The demi baguette was crunchy and the sandwich components were warm. Highly recommend giving Don & Charly's a try!
