Had a great dinner at Klosterli Weincafe. Food was innovative and well executed, and the service was very friendly. In particular, the tomato soup was creative with complementary flavors and textures. The chicken dish was also a standout. The sausage was delicious and clearly homemade. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor terrace and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. For those visiting Bern, this is one of the few restaurants in the city open on Sundays, so highly recommend making a reservation to come here. read more

Great wine bar in a beautiful setting. The server spoke fluent English. The building and outdoor terrace are both nice areas to sit and enjoy a drink after a long day of sightseeing. When we arrived at 7:30 pm on a Thursday (late May) the place was full of tourists and businessmen alike. We found a small table outside and asked for a recommendation on a local wine and beer. Both were exactly what we needed. It might seem expensive, but so is everything else in Switzerland to someone from the US. It is within 100' from the Bern bears, which you must also go and see while in Switzerland's capitol. The only thing that would make this place better is if they had a terrace/patio on the river side of the building, with views towards Bern and the sunset, but you work with what you have. read more

This is such a cute wine bar located in Bern. If you want to eat dinner, a reservation is a must. Their kitchen is really small and they can only cook for a fixed amount of people. I went without a reservation and wasn't able to order anything from kitchen but I was still able to order the cold plates. I ordered a meat and cheese plate, focaccia bread and a glass of wine. I enjoyed all of it! The atmosphere made the experience so much better. They have an outdoor section which is where I sat at. The ambience is very romantic and cozy. Rating this 4 stars because I was disappointed that I couldn't anything from the dinner menu. Other than that, the setting is perfect if you want to grab a glass of wine after a long day at work. read more

Went to Klösterli again tonight and it was simply exquisit! The automn menu is a delight, all my three dishes were innovative and absolutely delicious. Love love love this place! Still my favourite place in Bern. I come here regularly, and it never disappoints. I love their wine selection and the fact that the food menu changes regularly and in an innovative way. Super cosy in winter. If they could face river Aare for summer outdoor seating it would be perfect. read more

Great service, I sat at the bar and wasn't sure what I wanted. I got to try a few wines. 1st few were not for me but bartender helped me find something I liked that went well with cheese plate. In the cheese plate there was this amazing relish that was spicy like wasabi Spivey yet sweet. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but it was one of my favorite relishes on a cheese plate I've ever had! The cheeses were a nice surprise. I don't Swiss cheese so they have me a nice mix of goat and cow cheeses that were so different from the norm. Great experience overall!! read more

we are visiting from the US and found this restaurant while visiting the Baren Park. We made it just in time for the lunch service. The server was very nice and got our order in quickly. So glad it worked out because the Salmon was excellent cooked perfectly, my husband had the gnocchi and loved it. We asked the gentleman working there if he would make a suggest for a place near our hotel which he was so nice to do. read more
