We stopped here for lunch today on our first time in Bern and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is fairly upscale but the prices are very responsible for the area. We had the Beef Carpaccio and the gluten free Mushroom Pasta with Truffle Oil - which was very good! The mushrooms were good quality and the pasta, even though it was gluten free, had great flavor. Our server was incredibly nice and was able to assist us in English. We also had cappuccinos which were delicious! We would highly recommend stopping by for a great lunch or dinner while you are in town. read more

Delicious Italian food in Bern! Luce is a busy spot, so recommend a reservation for dinner. Quaint ambience, friendly service, a treat for homemade pastas and more. Overall, 4.5 rating for food quality, tasty dishes, meal presentation, service, wine selections and atmosphere. Pricey at $$$, meals range from $25-40euro; add salad, app or beverage, expect ~$50+ pp but note EVERYTHING in Switzerland is top tier expensive! Started with steamed Mussels appetizer prepared in a tomato based sauce; very good and perfect quantity to share, but mussels were not as delicate and tender as I anticipated. Mixed salad was traditional and good, but I really enjoyed the field green Arugula salad with tomato, parmigiana and balsamic, excellent! Highlights were the 4 main dishes... Fresh Seafood Risotto, Tagliatelle with Shrimp, Mushroom Pasta, Spinach Lasagne with Bolognese. They were all fantastic, but the Lasagne hit the spot for me with Spinach pasta and a meaty and creamy sauce. Also the Mushroom with tubular homemade Pasta was cooked perfect al dente with flavorful shrooms and cream sauce - excellent! We saw several Pizzas ordered by other tables, so that may be a good option if pasta isn't your "go to"; but doubt you'll go wrong with any menu choices here. Near our hotel and decided to give them a try. Busy. Multiple menus so we had picked something out then had to change when she took our orders. The lasagna and bolognese however were great! Today is our second day in Bern and we are looking for Italian food for dinner. We pass by this restaurant a several times when we walk back to our hotel. So I Yelp it and check out the reviews, it seems okay to try it out. We get to the restaurant early evening without reservations, the hostess is so accommodating to give us a table. My husband orders gnocchi pesto and I have spaghetti with clams. They are so delicious that we both finish our dishes. Then I order tiramisu and my husband orders gelato for our dessert. Let me tell you, we feel like we were eating in a restaurant in Italy because of the decor of restaurant and the waitstaff speaking Italian. The services are great and efficient. Their location is very good so they may have more tourists than others. However, I see a lot of locals are inside and outside waiting for tables too. read more

This place is quite average in every way but was an easy spot to snag on a busy night in Bern. We sat outside next to a big open square where people were watching the World Cup, which was nice and festive, though packed with smokers. I had the ricciole con farcia di ricottae spinaci al forno (essentially a cheese/spinach ravioli baked al forno). It was a hearty dish that had more cheese than what I'd expect for authentic Italian. It was a surprisingly big portion but I was able to finish it and not feel too stuffed. My husband had a prosciutto pizza which was fine and finishable, but I think we've had better even in the US. It was also a surprisingly big portion--the couple at the next table decided to split one after seeing his order. The service was probably worse than typical for Switzerland. The price was about what you'd expect. I wouldn't come here again, but I wouldn't actively dissuade you from it either. It was convenient and easy. read more

I reluctantly give Luce 3 stars, only because the food was good and the wine selection extensive. I did not have any fun here. They pack the tables on top of each other. The put 3 people at a table for two by moving the table and people so they were were touching ours. The food was good, but not outstanding, and is expensive even by Bern standards. Don't make our mistake, Bern is full of Italian restaurants, get away from the high tourist traffic areas and try one there. read more

Luce is a very solid option in Bern. Pricing is reasonable and the food is quite good. On several trips I have tried various risottos and pasta dishes and all were very good.
