I'm not sure that Kleine Pause is really worth 5 stars (the food certainly isn't) but I'm gonna give it 5 stars for the general atmostphere and staff. I just enjoy going there. It's often too busy, I can't converse with the staff, and in the past have been given a frozen bun on my burger, but I'll keep going back. Once, a German friend convinced me to have the frikadelle on my bun instead of a regular burger. Don't make that mistake. In fact, steer clear of frikadelle entirely whilst in Germany.

This snack may seem simple, but it contains profound cultural heritage and historical heritage.

Yuk yuk yuk. Gross food you would expect them to serve to drunk people with no inhibitions. Weird taste off everything. Will not be back!

Cheap drinks, cheap and amazing fast food and you always get to know all sorts of people. This is as Hamburg as a place can get.

I guess the bars on Susannenstraße have found a good thing and are all sticking to it. Park Cafe is a cool, trendy little place. They have a limited food menu, do a good range of coffees and also cocktails. That's about it.

When I arrived, it was packed, and it didn't take me long to figure out that one needs to find his or her "niche hour". Park sports a very unique menu - they are very strong with their cocktail offerings (the strongest I've seen outside of a bar or pub), along with traditional warm drinks and an interesting selection of cakes and soups. Their coconut soup seems to be a hit with the crowd, personally, I could find myself at park only for their blueberry muffins. Coffee at Park is a hit or miss. On some days, the coffee is too strong for my liking, on other days, it's distinctly weak. This I'm willing to forgive, however, since Park is and remains one of the best places to meet friends in the Schanze for some good conversation. I must admit, however, that due to the cafe's popular nature, the chances of me going there alone to drink coffee and read a book are extremely slim. The crowd at Park is very diverse and remains diverse throughout the day. Young folks and the older crowd meet at Park during the mornings, afternoons and evenings, and it's not uncommon to see parents sitting at the tables with their children. The "clubbing crowd" seems to mostly frequent Park on Friday nights, presumably to order from the cocktail menu.

I've been getting the impression that Germans appreciate a good pun. I ordered the classic cheeseburger (with added braised onions), sweet potato fries and a draft beer. Total was about $21 euro. The food was great! It seems they cook the burgers just about medium, maybe slightly over medium, so you may want to ask if you prefer differently. I found the burger really well balanced. The sauce was delicious, the meat and veggies were fresh, and the roll was delicious and light. It was easy to eat, both in terms of texture and size- the burger was not stacked as high as some of the pictures would have you believe. The sweet potato fries were well cooked, and I also got the tomato and thyme mayo to dip them in, which was great. I could somewhat understand the negative review's point about temperature- I'd say the burger was not piping hot, but I also didn't feel like it was a problem. All the flavors came through well and I could really taste the meat. Overall I'd say this is a good option if you're willing to spend a bit, and the location next to St Pauli's s convenient if you're going out after.

The burgers were pretty good, although I felt that they overdid on the fatty (cheese sauce, mayo) ingredients. Fries very good and the home made lemonade plain, but good. Charging extra for ketchup was a bit unnecessary, and the bathrooms were barely adequate, also lacking an option to dry one's hands.

Based on previous yelp reviews, I knew better than to order the nachos, but I didn't want to order a full dinner. I opted for the fried Camembert app, which arrived with a nice crisp basic salad. The plate had two discs of Camembert, which I found very generous. It was hot, crunchy and crisp and the berry sauce they came with went perfectly with them. The waitstaff was very friendly: disclaimer, I do speak fluent, native German so that may help a bit. But they were very easy going when I asked to move to get out of the plume of cigarette smokers. Price was reasonable and I left full and happy!!

A bartender recommended Oma's but we misunderstood what he said so we walked around in circles until we found it. The place was packed even on a weeknight so we knew it was good. The food is surprisingly good and cheap too. I ordered the schnitzel with bacon. Everything is good with bacon! It came with potatoes and lots of bacon. It was quality food for under €10. You should come here with a big appetite because the Germans are known for serving huge portions.
