Don't let the initial impression of a butcher's shop with some attached restauration deceive you: while you can select your meat from the desk, this is more of an accessory of the restaurant, not an actual butcher some locals would shop at.
Whiling away the time waiting for your food (and it did take long, but in good company that's more of a feature than a bug) feels cosy. Friendly staff!
It's a surprisingly international crowd that found this place - more Italians, Spaniards, Asians than Germans it seemed; cultures that value food maybe a bit more than Germans, and open for some great meats.
And great steaks is what they do, here, food was excellent (sides a bit on the 'simple' side without much of a selection, but the meat is perfect), portion sizes very good. A bit more pricey than what the casual look of the place seemed to indicate, but value for what you get.
My only peeve would be that they serve the wines in those puny .15l chi-chi-bar servings while charging full rate for decent, but not stellar quality. Beers are pricey too. Come on, you can do this a bit more generously to match the rest of the wise, and promise that we'll still drink a couple of glasses! read more
