Located at the top of my street this is my local one-stop weekly grocer, they have a nice fresh fruit and veg stand out the front with a great variaty plus some of the less common in Germany Asian/Turkish herbs, fuits and vege favorites. Everything is of better quality and there's no long pesky lines nor souless big name brands here. their deli is mouth water and the sell PG tips English tea here too! But what keeps me coming back again and again in favor of much bigger supermarkts is definately the inhouse butcher. Lamb, chicken and what have you in all kinds of cuts that you would find prepackaged in your local Aldi store, plus the meat is fresh as the butcher is Halal and if you ask him he'll specially prepare your meat into any cut or style you fancy. Great service and well priced.

The variety isn't huge with…read moreeverything but they do have a rather good cheese and cold meat selection also their Plus brand Bio Lassie's and yogurts are addictive and cheap. The frozen section here is extensive too and they have a big ice cream cabinet. I wouldn't bother buying fruit and veg from here though and neither bread as there's a bakery just next door and two fruit veg and fruit grocers across the street along with a butcher. for everything else though it's cheap and convenient. Pretty much everything that you aren't able to buy at the AYHAN grocer across the road can be found in here. The lines here also tend to be quite short which is nice too.

Da ich den Junior mal bei der Eröffnung eines Restaurants kennen gelernt habe, entscheide ich mich, zu Wagner in Eimsbüttel zu fahren. Ein Parkplatz ist auch unmittelbar gegenüber frei, sodass ich 5 Minuten vor 18:00 Uhr mit zwei weiteren Kunden den Laden betrete. Hinterm Tresen sind drei Verkäuferinnen und der Senior. Die beiden anderen sind vor mir an der Reihe und wurden sehr harsch von einer Dame abgefertigt, sodass sich die beiden noch dafür entschuldigten, etwas eingekauft zu haben. Nach kurzer Zeit erbarmte sich dann auch eine andere Dame, mich zu bedienen. So viel Unfreundlichkeit in einem alten Familienunternehmen an den Tag zu legen, auch wenn es kurz vor Feierabend ist, habe ich noch nie im Einzelhandel erlebt. Kein Wunder, dass die alten Einzelhandelsgeschäfte der Reihe nach schließen. Ich war kurz davor, auf dem Absatz umzudrehen und den Laden zu verlassen. Meinem Vorredner muss ich Recht geben auch ich kaufe wenn möglich immer im guten alten Einzelhandel und unterstütze das alt eingesessene Handwerk. Über den Umgang mit Kunden sollte sich der alte Wagner mal gründlich Gedanken machen und seine Mitarbeiterrinnen vielleicht den Begriff Kunde etwas näher bringen. Wenn ich bei meinem Fischmann in der Fruchtallee den Laden betrete, habe ich das Gefühl Willkommen zu sein! Bei Wagner leider nicht hier werde ich definitiv in der nächsten Zeit nicht mehr einkaufen und dies auch allen weitersagen die ich kenne.

Fleischerei Harms is a family-run business without a dozen branches or (often skin-deep) "lifestyle appeal", so one would expect them to be able to concentrate on getting their meat right. Supposed to be rather good because of location in market and owned by a significant food supplier so is a 'showroom'. Bright and pleasant inside. well laid out. Staff not very attentive despite not being very busy on my visit. Had a limited meal as in a rush. Veg are extra. I had a large good salad to start. I had pepper steak. Not as well done as requested, but I don't have very much German. Meat had not been hung long enough. Potatoe gratin served alongside was excellent. Wine list pretty good but I was a little tired after a 300 plus mile drive and could not concentrate in German!. Basic perhaps and probably good value as portion was quite large, but not that exciting.
