The food here while Imbiss can compete with any restaurant, I eat out a lot for work and do NOT give 5 stars often, but I am giving it here, just like all the other people who reviewed this place. Went here first Germany visit back in January 2014; this visit in July 2014 went 3 times. On the first visit in July the owner recognized me from the January visit, wow 6 month who knows how many customers and he recognizes me :). From my 3 meals there all were good BUT the rotisserie chicken I had was probably the best I had since living in Germany 35 years, yes years ago! The skin was perfectly roasted NOT the least bit soggy; but the meat was so moist and tender. The cucumber salad with oil and vinegar dressing had great taste, wish my dressing be like that when I make it. :( According to the owner all the recipes are made by his wife, who I did not meet. None of the so called "German" restaurant foods I have eaten throughout the US even come anywhere close to this Imbiss place. Only have 2 complaints.... why can't this place be in New York?? :( and as everything is so GOOD the biggest challenge is what to order :) Can't wait to eat here again on next Germany visit! :) For all the lucky locals go enjoy this place!!! :)

I am all for cheap and cheerful, but please give me a break.....I hadnt read all the reviews , but I certainly read some before I went and they are not a fair gauge of the quality of the food or the establishment.....two stars and yes, the chicken was nice.....

I found the SoHo Chicken in Eppendorfer Weg which was not that far from where I dwell. As I stepped in, I was impressed by the urban interior style. As I read the menu, they serve the grilled chicken as a quarter, half or full, prepared à la minute; flanked by sides such as colorful wok vegetables, crisp salad, corn on the cob, cole slaw or French fries with homemade dips.  The staff were very professional with flawless service. The meal in my opinion was absolutely scrumptious. Worth another visit soon.

The menu is asian with thai dishes and also korean dishes on a smaller menu. Our friend took the lead and ordered us the korean fried chicken and an order of Jajangmyeon (korean black bean noodles). Then we grabbed a couple of bottles of Soju from the fridge and a can of mango and lychee juice to mix with the soju. If you come here and get one thing, get the korean fried chicken! It's soooooo good! I miss good korean fried chicken and this hits the spot! The spicy sauce is not too spicy but has great flavor to it! The Black bean noodles were really tasty as well! It's a big portion so you can definitely share with 2 or 3 people. Wash it all down with a couple of beers or our ghetto mixed soju cocktails and you'll have a great night! Mixing the soju with lychee juice tasted better than the mango. Great homey atmosphere, cheap prices and great tasting food! I will be back soon for more chicken for sure!

There are other Korean dishes, but they don't stand out like in Korea (if you have been in Korea, you know what I'm talking about). Maybe try the BBQ with Pork Belly (Samgyeopsal), seems good too! As of today this…read moreplace is pretty much the top takeaway establishment on Qype-Hamburg, so we had to come check it out. In fact, we walked all the way from Gänsemarkt! Upon arrival, I was pleased to see that it's a completely traditional German take-away, specialising in such things as curry wurst and roasted chickens. Going for the trad experience I had the groß curry wurst with fries (see photos) and it was excellent. It was also the spiciest thing I've eaten during my time in Germany. Like most places in Germany, they also serve beer. One thing this place definitely isn't is fine eating. They don't even have tables, just a (very) small bar that you can stand to eat at. There's only enough room to fit about 5 people at it! One notable thing about the trip was that the other two guys eating at the bar had also found the place using Qype! Unfortunately they were passive users - maybe we will have convinced them to write a review or two? Anyway it's interesting to see the reach of Qype in the community. Lutt'n Grill had the fliers on display and their top-in-qype sticker :)

And if you just need a first drink before hitting the Schanze at night, the convenience store a few metres to the left is cheaper and offers better seating outside.
