Burgers, fries, and a pitcher of beer!

POV - Burger patties cooked to perfection to your liking, extra crispy fries and some to die for truffle mayo dip and you wash all that down with ice, cold lager! There's something magical about the fries because it seemed like it had something on the outside to give it an extra crunch! We saw this place last October when we went to eat at the Korean joint next door and saw a huge line. We didn't have time to get back to the area to see what the hype was all about so we made it a point to come here the first night we arrived into Hamburg and were NOT disappointed! You can choose to sit outside or inside. We really wanted to sit outside but ended up inside because I'm scared of birds but thankfully because the weather hasn't warmed up yet, it felt great inside as well!

No, not like Duff Beer, it's Dulf's Burger! This joint serves up some amazing meat between buns utilizing a high tech ordering system that you will have to experience yourself. It'll be one of those times where you just wish every restaurant had this system that just makes things easier. I went big with my burger and ordered a special that had everything. I'm talking fried egg, avocado, etc. While it was damn delicious (see the cross section photo I posted), I sort of wish I just went with a straight up cheeseburger to bask in the glory of simple hamburger in Hamburg. The onion rings were good, but I think I would rather have went with the fries. I do think Burgerlich is better than Dulf's, but both are real good in their own ways. Check out both of them while you're in town!

Came form California with my daughter for a few hours to Hamburg just to try a good burger, ended up at Dulf's Burger. We both were blow away by the awesome burger. It was one of the best burger we have ever had anywhere in the world. You will not go disappointed. Our recommendation is to try the Champion Burger.

It's a burger bar, not a 5 star restaurant, but we had a 5 star experience. It was recommend to us by our local bike tour leader as the best burger in Hamburg. We don't have any other hamburger experiences in Hamburg to compare, but we believe he didn't lie when he said that he's tested them all! It's busy so expect to wait for a table. We sat outside with a pitcher of beer. (For some unknown reason they wouldn't serve food outside.) We were seated in about 15 minutes. The burger choices are extensive. We had one farmhouse burger, one blue cheese burger and one vegetarian burger made from halloumi cheese. There were several vegetarian/vegan options, but I've never seen halloumi cheese offered as a burger, so I had to try it. It was great! The farmhouse burger was a great surprise. It was a tower of meat that could easily feed a family of 6. Not what we were expecting. I think something got lost in the German translation. It was impressive even though my husband can only eat a small portion of it. Each burger was cooked to perfection, medium rare, and the quality of meat was very good. For sides we had fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings. The truffle Mayo For dipping was delicious. It was not a healthy dinner by any means. The piece of lettuce on the burger does not count as a serving of vegetable! But if you only want 1 burger in hamburger, this is an excellent choice.

Great burgers! Only bad thing is that its very loud and crunched up. Waiters are really nice and have and are quite funny. Large menu. Drinks served in jars which makes it very interesting. Wi-fi available with password.

I wasn't really impressed with this place. I figured I had to get a burger if I was going to be in Hamburg, but the meat lacked seasoning, all the fresh ingredients were cold and the cheese wasn't melted. These are some of the most important parts about a good burger. Also, they don't accept American credit cards so make sure you have cash. (I walked around for awhile looking for an ATM, that was fine!) The truffle mayo sauce is good and the ketchup is regular ketchup. The "large" fizzy water was pretty small in my opinion. Wouldn't recommend. I went in on a Sunday around 8:00 and sat right away since I was by myself. Service was pretty quick.

The best burgers in town. I wouldn't call it a restaurant, because you do get your burger very fast and they aim on getting you out of there within the hour at max. Don't worry they won't ask or push you out, but the pace of service just makes this happen. Don't order a burger on the menu-list if you want to have the monstrous burger your neighbor just ordered. You can create your own burger and size it to your liking, as he probably did. If you are really searching for a restaurant-experience this place is not recommended, it's small and always fully crowded. But if you need a damn fine Hamburger in Hamburg.... go here!!!

After hearing a lot of good words of this place, we decided to give it a second chance. This time they didn't disappoint us. The food is served really quickly, like 15 mins after we ordered. To be fair, the burger is really really tasty. And I love the sweet potato fries with wasabi mayo. After we finished, there were people waiting in a line for our table. And it is just a normal Tuesday lunch time. Will recommend it to friends, but just be ware that might be long waiting time for the table or the food.

When I arrived, it was packed, and it didn't take me long to figure out that one needs to find his or her "niche hour". Park sports a very unique menu - they are very strong with their cocktail offerings (the strongest I've seen outside of a bar or pub), along with traditional warm drinks and an interesting selection of cakes and soups. Their coconut soup seems to be a hit with the crowd, personally, I could find myself at park only for their blueberry muffins. Coffee at Park is a hit or miss. On some days, the coffee is too strong for my liking, on other days, it's distinctly weak. This I'm willing to forgive, however, since Park is and remains one of the best places to meet friends in the Schanze for some good conversation. I must admit, however, that due to the cafe's popular nature, the chances of me going there alone to drink coffee and read a book are extremely slim. The crowd at Park is very diverse and remains diverse throughout the day. Young folks and the older crowd meet at Park during the mornings, afternoons and evenings, and it's not uncommon to see parents sitting at the tables with their children. The "clubbing crowd" seems to mostly frequent Park on Friday nights, presumably to order from the cocktail menu.

The burgers were pretty good, although I felt that they overdid on the fatty (cheese sauce, mayo) ingredients. Fries very good and the home made lemonade plain, but good. Cold Dry Tasteless Spineless Way Overpriced (5€ for Fries) First we waited for an hour until the food came. Then it was one horrible taste experience after another. I ordered the Blue-cheese burger with sweet potato - it was nothing more than nasty and tasteless. Too much blue-cheese sauce, the bacon was thin and the opposite of crispy. The "candied walnuts" were two nuts stuck deep into the tasteless bun. The paddy was dry, tasteless and couldn't hold itself together. To top it all off the burger was cold. Cold meat, cold bun. I was eating with 3 others - all three ordered the Cheeseburger. All three did not finish their food due to disgust. 2 of them ordered the "chilly cheese fries" - the cheese tasted like kraft cheese out of the can (US Reference...) which is fake cheese. The "chilies" didn't help the whole situation, as they looked like they were sloughed onto the cheese directly from the glass they were purchased in. No one asked how the food tasted. No one seemed to care if the customers were happy. I believe they had seen faces like ours before: disappointed and sad that the food was so terrible. We all left the restaurant with rocks in our stomachs, wishing we had never entered this restaurant. Really a shame. I should have taken the hint from the amount of "additives" (Tabasco, spicy chilly sauces etc) that sat ready on the table.

Based on previous yelp reviews, I knew better than to order the nachos, but I didn't want to order a full dinner. I opted for the fried Camembert app, which arrived with a nice crisp basic salad. The plate had two discs of Camembert, which I found very generous. It was hot, crunchy and crisp and the berry sauce they came with went perfectly with them. The waitstaff was very friendly: disclaimer, I do speak fluent, native German so that may help a bit. But they were very easy going when I asked to move to get out of the plume of cigarette smokers.
