I've been coming to Oma's ever since I came to Hamburg, and it's one of my favourites. They do a mean steak, huge burgers and good frühstuck (continental breakfast). They also show the football sometimes (see if you can spot the screen, it's very well hidden). The beer is a bit pricey, but it's more of a restaurant than a bar..

I ordered a tiramisu after my big "Schnitzel-Burger" with fries and even that was huuuge! And delicious as well! ;)

The food is very good and the price cannot be beaten! The plates are huge, so don't order a big starter. If you do, I wouldn't choose the nachos, they literally just put them on a plate and fill three different package-sauces in bowls... meh. I ordered a tiramisu after my big "Schnitzel-Burger" with fries and even that was huuuge! And delicious as well! ;) Crowded literally everyday at everytime! No matter if you wanna have breakfast, lunch or diner! So the sound level is really high and you have to speak loudly to your counterpart. But it's definitely worth to wait a short time to get a free seat. Reservations aren't possible, it's a typical "Kneipe", but a really good one!

Old pharmacy transformed into a student pub. Like the vibe and comparatively low prices. Main drink is beer.

We were two Danish guys being treated very hostile as if they don't foreigners. Don't go there if you're not German

Perfect for him and the onion rings were great. The Irish lad that waited on us Keith (I think was his name. From Ireland) was great fun! Will come back for sure and stay in this area

What I found there was better than I'd possibly imagined --- 15 people with fiddles, pipes, Irish Bodhran drums, guitars --- I even saw a bass leaned against a wall, but not in use. Good rollicking jigs, and several hours of them. All instrumentals, which suited me fine. At one point I figured the only way to tell which country I was in was to listen to the two older guys having a loud conversation instead of listening --- and notice they were speaking German. Upstairs is fairly standard "Irish pub" look, but the basement decor's a bit odd --- the plaster is painted like huge wood beams and stone walls with "windows" opening out on blacklight-illuminated fantasy scenes. One section of the wall has a sea god who belongs airbrushed on the side of a van. Very odd. Food, eh? The Guinness was excellent (though a half-liter instead of a pint), and the fish and chips was much better than I'd expected --- I'd rate it as a good but not excellent chippy. I'll have to go try something meat-pie-ish, as that's a better way to judge the kitchen. The food was good, the beer was good, and the music was amazing --- I know for sure what I'm doing next time I'm in Hamburg on a Sunday.

This pub definitely looks like the kind of tourist trap place you'd always avoid as a Brit abroad…read more However, I've accidentally been here about 3 times now in the day (football) and the middle of the night (too drunk to know better) and it's actually really good! Loads of very keen German football fans who will let you know all about the Liverpool result - so, you can't really fault that can you?

This place is legend and folklore if you are a Fulham supporter who made the trip away to Hamburg…read morefor our first game on the European mainland for some 15 years back in 1998. A few fans discovered this tourist trap beside 'the naughty street' in daylight and it became for some ungodly reason the place to be in town prior to the game. I remember wanting to go elsewhere. A small, brickie friendly pub, it was like being in Auf Wierherisen Pet with English workmen drinking after a day of building, plastering, plying and doing what sparkies do. English beers on tap, in bottles included the infamous bottle of dog, Newcastle Brown. As a 14 year old, I have to admit I thought the place was pretty crap, as it is small, cramped, dirty, slightly dusty and dark but I was getting drunk and the company I was keeping of other, older Fulham supporters were funny. After the game (which we won vs Hamburg SV, 2-0) Captain Morgan (Football player Simon, not he of dark rum and piracy fame) asked manager Kevin Keegan if he could let let his hair down with a couple of the lads seeing as it is a different country. On their walk they were spotted in their sparkling new tracksuits and dragged into the London pub where around 100 Fulham fans were celebrating our preseason victory. I can't really say more about what went on here, but I am sure this place has never and will never see a night like it again. The reeperbahn is one hell of a place, but lets just say that Morgan and the boys made it back for breakfast where they were praised for being 'so responsible and only having one drink last night'. Kevin 'King Kev' Keegan thought that the squad had come back as promised before the witching hour and had a full nights sleep before getting up early, slipping the team tracksuit on and getting downstairs for breakfast before riding the coach home. I am not going to tell him that they were in the London pub with the fans till 6am!!! Although, he might read it on Qype now!!!
