Pamperins was our "go to" and every paint we purchased was from there. No more. We went into the store and it was cluttered and messy and unfortunately, the two ladies in the store knew little to nothing about stains. When we went through all of the stains in the store and selected two different stains - made by two different vendors - we were told that they didn't have any in stock - one would be there a week from Friday and the other - they thought maybe Wednesday. We were so disappointed not only in the fact that Pamperins isn't Pamperins anymore but also because the people who worked there were inexperienced, unknowledgeable and we honestly knew more than they did. It used to be that every single person who waited on you - was an expert - they knew what paint or stain to use - gave great advice and even assisted us in selecting a product. I will miss knowing that there was a quality store in Green Bay with expert and exemplary service with great products in a neat, organized, easy-to-find what you're looking for location... Pamperins isn't Pamperins anymore. While I wish them luck, unless significant changes in product knowledge, personnel and organization of the new, dirty store location, I'm not hopeful for its future. I know we won't go back.

On May 28, 2025, I brought in 2 custom stain samples that I needed to have matched. On the day I brought them in, the lady at the counter said there were 2 stain matching jobs ahead of me and that it would take a couple of days, as it had in the past, no problem. A week went by, no call from Sherwin Williams so I stopped by there and was told that their stain match "specialist" was not in and that my jobs were labeled, "work in progress". Again, I was told, "couple more days". Another week goes by, still no call from Sherwin Williams so again, I stopped by to see if the matches were complete and maybe they forgot to call me. Again, no completed work so i asked to speak to the manager only to find out she was out. I explained my dissatisfaction to the lady at the counter and asked her to write a note to whoever mixes the stain that it was urgent I get one of the 2 stains, again, no call so again, I stopped by and spoke to Ed who was the "stain mixologist" and he said, yes, one of them was done and he showed me the match, it was not even close ! Several days later, he finally produced a stain that had an acceptable match to the sample I dropped of back on May 28th! At that time, I asked about the second stain match that I needed and was told "were short staffed and its next on the list, couple more days" yet again Its now been over one month since first requested the stain matching work. I stopped in, yet again today and was told, unbelievably, " we are short staffed, I'm here by myself and there are now 2 stain match jobs ahead of me" Dumbfounded by this complete lack of customer service and accountability, I then went to the hardware store down the street and purchased 3 small containers of stain and in less than 20 minutes, I was able to produce a perfect stain match to my sample. I'll be taking my paint and stain work elsewhere from today on, shame on you Sturgeon Bay Sherwin Williams!! Mike C

I have one thing to say about this store…read more.. Rude. Rude. Rude. I accompanied my mother to purchase ceiling paint for her basement. We walked into the store. Not only was there no one at the counter, but no one surfaced after we stood at the paint samples for 5+ minutes. When she asked for a recommendation, Jacob, the rep that finally surfaced from the supply room, was rude and not helpful. She doesn't paint rooms every day let alone paint a ceiling. Which means she doesn't buy paint. However, I bet Jacob sells paint to a whole lot of professional painters! And I bet Sherwin Williams trained him how to assist customers with their painting needs and I bet he was trained on the product and which product to sell for the job at hand. How do I know this? I shop at Sherwin Williams in my home town when I need paint for my home and business. And I get great customer service from trained professionals at our local store. Sorry we interrupted your day Jacob at Sherwin Williams. You clearly had something far better to do than to assist a customer.

I needed a brass slide deadbolt for the boat. Guys at Lowe's didn't know what I was talking about. At Ace a helpful employee took me right to it. I like this store a lot as the folks are very nice and capable. One time I was struggling with a plumbing project. The person at Ace helped me with parts and we laid it out on the floor. I hate doing plumbing; but this place made this job bearable. Not a huge store; but it seems well stocked with all kinds of needed stuff. So if you have a project and you need parts or advice it would behoove you to patronize this fine store.
