I switched to Dr Vogel from another "celebrity" OB who cared more about her social media image than helping women have safe healthy pregnancies. As someone who experienced a horribly traumatic pregnancy loss, my priority was to find an OB who had the training and expertise to handle my subsequent high risk pregnancy. I got that and more with Dr Vogel and have my beautiful healthy two year old to thank her for. Everyone in her practice group also took care of me so well during the few times I needed an urgent appt and Dr Vogel was not in. Dr. Vogel is an exceptional Doctor. I have been seeing her as my OBGYN for the past 15+ years, and recently had the experience of delivering a baby with her in December. Dr. Vogel is a decisive, level-headed, and extremely bright Doctor. I am grateful that she guided me throughout my pregnancy and labor with exceptional skill. I came into my pregnancy with borderline high blood pressure, anxiety, and endless questions, and Dr. Vogel made all of the right calls to manage my pregnancy safely and to help me achieve my goal of a full-term vaginal delivery. While the phone line is hard to get through, I had endless questions for Dr. Vogel, and she always responded in a timely manner via MyChart messaging. Dr. Vogel also was an incredible doctor to have as my champion in the delivery room. She was incredibly encouraging, confident, and really shines in the delivery setting. I feel lucky to have had Dr. Vogel guide me throughout my pregnancy, and will 100% work with her again when I hopefully have another child. read more

Went to her for a few years but she was always a bit dismissive and when i emailed about an issue she initially responded but then went quiet after that. Last straw was trying to make an annual exam appointment recently. I called the front desk twice and was on hold for over 20 minutes each time and no one ever picked up. I then left two voicemails and no one ever called me back. And then I emailed. Nothing. No call back ever!! Not sure why there are so many negative reviews--someone must be trolling her. I switched to Vogel from another OB and found the smartest, most efficient doctor in Dr. Vogel. I like being treated like I'm an intelligent, educated individual and don't need a doctor sugarcoat my experience/diagnoses. In previous offices I've waited upwards of an hour. Never more than 10 min for Vogel. I've also read negative reviews of Blanca. She is great herself but her billing department is another story!! Got billed for my free annual exam because I asked her the results of my bone density test from 2 years ago that was suppose to be reported to me and it never was!! When I called to complain about the bill they said you discussed other matter that's not part of an annual!!! I didn't no you're not allowed to ask questions regarding a text she herself had ordered and never got back to me regarding the results. Also I had a urine test done that didn't know insurance does not cover anymore and I was not told m. Funny insurance says it's $10 and I have to pay the $35 for it!! So from now on when we go for an annual we are just suppose to sit and shut up and no questions are permitted or we get charged??? **The only reason I gave her 5 stars is because I couldn't give her 6** Omg where do I begin? Dr. Vogel and her staff are truly genuinely kind and compassionate people. Dr. Vogel really took the time to get to know my history and well, just ME in general. I never felt like she was simply ticking off a checklist of my history. It really felt like I was just having a casual but intimate conversation with a good friend. She was patient and asked more questions than any other gynecologist in my past has. In fact, some things that were a routine part of my exam, I had actually never received previously. She made me feel so relaxed and at ease. And of course more importantly, I never once felt rushed or felt hurried in any way. I've had many ultrasounds in her office and her medical assistants and ultrasound techs are kind, caring, and very competent. They are always a pleasure to talk to. Dr Vogel goes above and beyond to accommodate me in every aspect. I've unfortunately been 30 mins late on two occasions and she always still sees me and is happy to. This is what I mean by them being incredibly compassionate. She is a breath of fresh air compared to every other doctor I've seen in the past. I've never waited more than a couple of minutes in the waiting area which is unheard of for most doctor offices. Whenever any of my friends ask for recommendations I always recommend Dr Vogel! I've been seeing Dr. Vogel for at least 7 years. I first started with yearly female check ups, and then my husband and I were ready to start a family when I was 35. My pregnancy journey hasn't been the easiest and luckily Dr. Vogel is the quarter back of my pregnancy team. She is so knowledgeable and actually very kind when talking to her about any and all diagnoses. She messages me back if I have a medical problem, and calls me for all of my results (she'll always wait and explain results further, until I fully understand any result that doesn't come back normal). First she found liquid in a fallopian tube (confirmed in a separate imaging center that she sent me to) that required the tube to be removed laparoscopically before I was able to start trying. She did a wonderful job on my surgery and with my permission removed ovarian cysts that were found prior in imaging, too. She was there for me when ever I was nervous, and even made a last minute appointment for me bc she wanted to make sure everything was alright and healing properly after surgery. She cares about her patients a lot. After healing quickly from that surgery she told us we could start trying. She said if I didn't get pregnant after 6 months (bc I was 36 and now had one Fallopian tube) that she would direct me to a fertility office. After 6 months of trying, unfortunately we couldn't get get pregnant. Dr. Vogel sent me to THE BEST fertility Dr. ever! After going to see the fertility Dr. we tried IUI first, and then after doing 2 retrievals, and 1 embryo transfer of IVF, I am now pregnant at 37! I graduated from the fertility office and started seeing Dr. Vogel again around 11 weeks. Dr. Vogel was so happy for us, gave us all of the blood tests needed for the first trimester, and even explained how there is another test she recommends we end up getting that the state unfortunately didn't offer anymore to further weed out any birth issues for baby and me. So far 5 months into this pregnancy I've had some bleeding, and that blood test she told us about (that we definitely wanted) came back and there were indications of me possibly having pre eclampsia in my pregnancy. She directed me to take baby aspirin (I was already on baby aspirin bc of the fertility Dr. telling me to do the same), she said baby aspirin has shown good results in helping some cases of pre eclampsia and said she wants to keep monitoring me closely after receiving the results from the blood test. Dr. Vogel is the best Dr. and I can't thank her enough for being there for me always during this pregnancy, and holding my hand through this whole process. I'm so grateful that she is my OB, bc she knows what she is doing and great at it! That's the kind of Dr. I want working on me when things are complicated and not easy during pregnancy! Dr. Klara Vogel has been my OB-GYN for the past seven years, and I can not express how grateful I am to be one of her patients. I met Dr. Vogel in my mid-30s when I first moved to California, before I was even thinking of marriage and starting a family. I honestly can't describe the degree of unprofessionalism, disorganization, and unethical practices in this office. I originally switched to Vogel because my old YN was no longer part of the network and their office reassured me that my regular checkup was going to be covered by my policy due to their practice being "in network". Vogel herself was cold, uninterested, and borderline rude during the examination. Post examination, I asked her several questions, which I got yes and no responses to while feeling incredibly overwhelmed and vulnerable. Her responses were simply insensitive. While she might be knowledgeable but her bedside manner should disqualify her as a doctor -- at least to humans. To add insult to injury, I got slapped with a $500+ bill. When I reached out to their billing department, they were incredibly unorganized, didn't know why they were no longer "in network", and reassured me that they would follow up. I've followed up several times since then (more than a month), and I've yet to get anyone to respond or give me a clear answer as to why I got charged. I even called the main office and asked for help and even they didn't give me a call back. Meanwhile, they keep charging me a late fee. I find this so unethical. Overall this has been a disappointing and trying experience which I would never wish upon anybody. Vogel and her practice need a serious reality check. read more

This was my first time at the office and, I can say, that I am more educated about myself and feeling better. I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews! Dr. Vogel is amazing! From when I scheduled my appointment with Nicole in the front desk, to meeting with the doctor at the end of my visit, everything went smoothly. I agree that Dr. Vogel isn't very warm and touchy-feely, but she is a doctor, she does exactly what she needs to do and she does it well. She's very thorough and is willing to answer all your questions. I never felt rushed or a burden at all during my entire visit. Even the woman working the ultrasounds was very friendly and answered all my questions. I am a very sensitive person, and I am always worrying, so I would like some "don't worry"s or "we got this" but I can't expect it and I'm ok with that. It only happens in movies....that moment when you're in labor with your first baby and the nurse comes in and tells you that your doctor whom you've seen throughout your entire pregnancy is out of town on the very day your baby decides to come earth-side. Well, lucky for me, the fill-in doc at 5am was Dr. Vogel. Klara Vogel is a rockstar, came in the room, and handled.it. I'm thrilled she ended up delivering my baby girl. I was referred to Dr. Vogel from a friend who went to her for their first pregnancy. I'd have to say, I'm shocked at these reviews. My husband and I absolutely love her. This is our first pregnancy and we always go into each appointment with a ton of questions and I value her brilliant answers to all of them, even if most of my questions are silly. I was very skeptical at first to visit Dr. Vogel's office based upon the poor reviews. Needing a more local ob-gyn (I used to commute to Burbank from the west side) I figured I would give Dr. Vogel a try regardless of others glass half empty experiences. On the first visit, I did get a sense of her just being very busy and not too much of a hand holder... but things like that don't concern me too much. My second visit I had a few concerns and questions. Without any hesitation, Dr. Vogel was extremely helpful and detailed about the answers she provided. She helped be regain a sense of ease. Wow I am so shocked by these postings. I was a high risk patient--I was 46 yrs old when I delivered--TWINS--8 pounds each and Dr Vogel got me to full term of 38 weeks. When I went to the delivery room all of the doctors and nurses had never seen such healthy and big twin boys. I was referred to Doctor Vogel by one of the best fertility doctors in the country (believe me I know I went to 8 different fertility doctors before Dr Ringler got me pregnant with my boys first IVF try (I had 7 other IVF's with various doctors). Dr Vogel is very professional, to the point and a great doctor. I had one son that had an issue with his heart beat. I had been to Dr Platt (who is also great), two days before my visit to Vogel, for a big in-depth scan of the babies etc. Two days later, I went to Vogel and with that little strap on thing they put around your stomach and listen through a little device (certainly not the big full screen and video you get at Platt's office) Dr Vogel picked up that Julien's heart beat was off. I was immediately put into St John's and monitored and sent back to Platt and later sent to Children's hospital. It cleared up in a week but I felt absolutely that my babies and I were in the best of hands. She heard that stuff on basically a little hand radio. Another example of her style is my babies had a lot of amnio fluid. I do not recall this in delivery as i was in la la land. However, my friend, who was in there with me, told me that basically it was like a Tsunami had hit the delivery room. Dr Vogel very calmly and understated turned to the nurses and said can someone take care of the fluid situation and without missing a beat pulled baby A (Ian) out. When i was told this story I laughed as it was so Dr Vogel to act that way---take care of the side elements and focus on delivering my babies safely. Dr Vogel is very understated and does her job well. She does carry on a conversation if you are bright enough to carry one with her. We would have nice conversations and she would share things about herself and her family with me. Was she sitting by my side cracking jokes? NO--but if I want that I will get tickets for the Comedy Store. Did she do a tap dance on her way into the room when seeing me? NO--but that is why we have Dancing with the Stars on TV. Does she give you the best possible care? Yes--I should know I was very high risk. As far as her staff I am still friends with them. In fact, her assistant, and her family came to my kids first birthday party. When I go into the office the staff immediately asks me why I did not bring my boys so they can see them. I used her assistant's sister and cousin as my nanny since my boys were brought home from the hospital. I only went to the best doctors to have my boys from conception to birth and I highly recommend Dr Ringler, Dr Platt and Dr Vogel. I had been told by other doctors i would never have children. Well I did with these professionals. Interestingly enough, all three basically have the same personalities. If you are looking for Milton Berle (or Larry David, to younger readers) I suggest you go elsewhere. OK, if you are sarcastic you can get Platt to crack jokes with you. Ringler and Vogel not so much. Most importantly, all three are the best to offer in their profession not only in California but internationally. Look them up. Karen PS perhaps (this is to you comment from em m) if a doctor asks you how many partners you have had since your last visit and examined you (and perhaps saw God knows what up there) and orders test for STD's ---perhaps you should rethink how many partners you have had in the year...or rethink the ones you go with...ever think of that? I am single and she does not order STD tests on me every time I go in. It tells me that by her ordering them for you she is watching your back. Who knows, maybe you will thank her one day when you realize you are not sterile because she did not allow something to grow up there on her watch. read more

I really like my lady bits. We have a lot of fun together. So, needless to say, it's really important for me to have a gyn that I like. Dr. Vogel is efficient, succinct, and passionate about what she does. I'm in and out of that office in 45 minutes and they always follow up with a call on your results. I've never waited more than 3 days for this. As others have said, she's straightforward, but I like that in a doctor and appreciate that approach. So why only 4 stars? In a recent interaction with her staff on something that was a mistake on their end, I was made to feel like I was the one that was crazy. The classic: it's not me, it's you. I get enough of that in the LA dating scene, but I digress. They added something onto my bill that I did not have done and her assistant argued with me until she transferred me to billing after she realized that I was actually correct. And then her billing staff said they would take it off...great! But added the caveat that they actually COULD bill for that and made it sound like a favor to me that they were fixing the mistake. Listen, I get that this office is busy and medical personnel has to defend themselves against a lot of BS, but when a patient is correct, don't make your patient feel like an arse. read more

I work in the medical field and I have been seeing Dr. Vogel for the past 14 years. She is the best OBGYN I have had. She delivered both of my daughters who are now 7 and 11. My experiences were great and my kids are healthy. Dr. Vogel and her staffs are very caring, kind, and thorough. As a patient, I always ask whenever I have any concerns or questions and Dr. Vogel always try to answer my questions and help me. Dr. Vogel is by far, one of THE MOST caring, genuine, compassionate, knowledgable, doctors I have ever been to, and believe me, I've been to many. She is very patient and answers all my questions, never rushes me, & she is very gentle through all her exams. Klara and the front desk girls made me feel like I was family. Honestly, I've never felt so welcomed in my life. The reception girls remembered me every time I came in and always asked how I was, they even greeted me by my first name. I also can't sing enough praises from Klara Vogel. I've been with Dr. Vogel for a few years now. My experiences with her have always been great. Some people are complaining that she's indifferent. I'm sure if you walk into her office and don't speak it may feel that way, but I always strike up a conversation with her and we laugh and she always answers my questions thoroughly and makes me feel educated and aware of whats going on. She's the doctor you want by your side (or down below) when you're delivering a baby. She is efficient, solution-minded, no nonsense in her demeanor. Not the "best buddy" friend doctor, but I didn't need a friend. She let me wait an additional 9 days after my due date to see if my baby would come naturally before she would induce labor. The thing that got contractions started was splitting the membranes which she did quickly and at my request the day before he finally came out. I think this swift procedure is what got things happening. I will go to her annually as long as she is practicing and I am living in CA. Additionally, not to gross you out, but she gives the quickest, pain-free, least queasiness-causing Pap smear EVER! That's a relief. read more

I have no idea how she finds time for this but I find it very helpful and it shows that she cares about her patients. I cannot believe that Dr. Vogel actually has even one good review here. I was referred to Dr. Vogel by my primary physician because I had an abnormal pap. Little did I know then, abnormal pap could "fix" themselves and could turn normal in just a few months; it's very common. Anyway I was told to get a Colposcopy with Dr. Vogel, and my young naive self didn't check her background nor reviews at all and just went. She was extremely cold and bitter, and I kept up my good spirit and asked her with a smile (!) if it was going to be painful. As I said, I was very naive and didn't ever think a Doctor would ever hurt me or suggested for me to do anything more than what I really needed. I didn't even know what I was going into! All I THOUGHT was it was necessary. She didn't even bother explaining what she was going to do, and said "no" at the same time getting up from her desk to the exam room. I then lied down and experienced the most traumatic and painful procedure ever done to me as a woman. (An article about this procedure was recently published in the November edition of Cosmopolitan magazine -- read about the HPV vaccine article; the cover is pink with Adele as cover girl. The lady who wrote the article is a mother and said that the pain is much more severe than when she had her first CHILD and that many doctors are very cold and misleading with this procedure). I immediately cried on the table and she walked away and LEFT the room without saying anything. Can you F*ing believe that? She didn't say ONE word the whole time we were in there and everything happened SO quick (like the other Yelpers said: you go in, boom boom, you get out). The nurse came in and I APOLOGIZED for crying as I was embarrassed, confused, scared, and traumatized. She gave me a couple Advils and said it might help with the pain. The next time I saw my primary physician, she was surprised to find out that Dr Vogel had not given me any painkillers AT ALL before the procedure. People like her shouldn't be a doctor; especially not an OBGYN. For those who are still not sure if you want to see her or not, DON'T. Trust me. I hardly write reviews -- but things like this are very disturbing to me and you ladies should know who to avoid. I have also experienced another Obgyn who told me to get a Colposcopy as soon as they see an abnormal pap. This time I was smarter -- do you know you always have the choice to say NO? Well I said no and there was nothing she could do to stop me. Several months later my pap was normal. Update: after several months of her treatment regimen, I ended up in the ER with severe anemia, after fainting. I had called her office prior to this to let her know I was concerned, but was met with indifference. That's just dangerous, and I cannot possibly recommend her to anyone. _________________________________________________________________ After reading all of the recent negative reviews I was a bit hesitant about going to the appointment. Much to my delight, I had no reason to be. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful. Given how busy they were, I was impressed with how responsive and upbeat they were. The technicians were also great. Particularly the ultrasound technician (Susan I think). Dr. Vogel was very nice. She absolutely listened to my concerns, took the time to explain what tests she wanted to order and why. The exam and pap were quick, but thorough. Btw, least uncomfortable/painful pap I've EVER had! Huge selling point. Yeah, I guess she was a tad terse but that should never be confused with being angry or "hating women". She seems like a very knowledgable and competent doctor. I get that going to a gyno is super uncomfortable, but seems to me like many of the negative reviews were because the women writing the reviews felt uncomfortable going to a gyno in general and wanted their hands held. Go elsewhere: Dirty clinic - I could visually see dirt in each room I was in. Dismissive- was trying birth control for the first time, expressing my concerns regarding new drugs that hadn't been around a long time. She shrugged it off and put me on the newest drug on the market - which now has millions of women claiming lawsuits. Unprofessional- took a personal phone call that didn't seem like an emergency during my intake. Plus, I had to call the office twice to get them to send my charts to my new doctor. read more

After experiencing a late miscarriage with a previous doctor, I wanted to find a doctor who would not let anything slip to the side. Dr. Vogel is so knowledgeable, professional and most importantly on top of it. I truly trust her opinion. LOVE Dr. Vogel! She is a fantastic OBGYN, is up to speed on all things related to women's health and is extremely reliable and professional at what she does. You want the BEST doctor when being pregnant and delivering a baby, and Dr. Vogel is just that. Two years ago I gave birth to my son at 27 weeks. This was not a preterm Labor that could have been detected. Needless to say it was an emergency C-Section and Dr. Vogel was calm, collected and decisive. All qualities you want in the most traumatic birth experience. My two year old is doing wonderful and after 10 weeks in the NICU and some OT for my son, he is fully caught up and is one happy, smart and healthy kiddo. My husband and I owe everything to Dr. Vogel for delivering our baby and all that she did to give me the best care. We love her and I highly recommend her as an obgyn!! read more

I have been going to Dr.Vogel for close to 5 years. I have been through years of challenges with endomitriosis so I need the best Doctor. I have it with Dr. Vogel. We have been through a surgery together(first thing in the morning when she first got to the hospital she came to see me to say hi and then changed into her scrubs). I had years of fertility challenges where she guided us and did our first fertilty treatments until my medical challenges and history had me go to to a specialist. When I came back pregnant she was the first one who was so genuinely thrilled. When I had an ultrasound that showed concern she was supportive and proactive and got me in immediately to see a Doctor to do a cvs. She checked in to make sure I was O.K. She is thourough,incredibly knowledgebable. She breaks down and gives you information and explanation in a way that a normal person can grasp and comprehend(unlike most Doctors that throw around Dr.Lingo) She was understanding and supportive of me throughout my pregnancy and gave me an incredible Birth. I could not ask for a better Doctor who knows what she is doing and is sincere and supportive. She has a great heart and truly loves what she is doing. If she can handle a case like mine with all the challenges I have in the manner that she has than any other patient is a walk in the park. I highly reccomend her. read more
