I found a 4 wheel drive pickup on Autotrader at KK Auto Ranch. Had been looking for awhile for a specific truck/features. This truck was it, had everything I wanted, looked in great shape, and the price was right. I called and talked to Fred Barker, the owner/salesman. I asked a bunch of questions he answered them truthfully. Specifically, I asked about rust. He said he couldn't find any on the truck. I asked how it drove. He said "Good". I replied, "So it drives great?" He said, "I wouldn't say great, but good." Then he said the brakes seem a little soft, like maybe the back brakes need to be replaced or looked at. The only thing that didn't work was the AC.
I live 5 hours away, so I took a gamble and bought the truck over the phone based on what Fred said. He seemed honest in his answers. I mailed him a check and picked up the truck 5 days later, on a Saturday.
Fred had the truck ready when we arrived. The truck was exactly as he described and pictured on his website. Actually the truck was better than described. It turns out the brakes were perfectly fine, the truck drives great. Everything was ready to go, the oil was freshly changed, the tires were almost brand new, shocks were new, even the windshield wiper blades were good. For a $4,000 truck this was a bargain. I have bought more expensive vehicles that are newer that needed a list of repairs. This truck needs nothing, everything is in top condition. I drove the truck 5 hours home and could have driven it across the country.
It turns out KK Auto Ranch test drives their vehicles before buying from other dealers/auctions. Other dealers buy from auctions without test driving and then have to sell sub-par vehicles prettied up to look good. The truck I bought was personally inspected by KK Auto Ranch and I got lucky as the previous owner sunk a lot of money into it before trading it in.
I highly recommend KK Auto Ranch to anyone looking for a good used car or truck . I would consider them again if they had what I was looking for. read more
