This is my second time since the opening of this restaurant. The reason being the employees were so rude the first time, they made us feel like we were bothering them. So I figured let's give it a second chance on the way to Ritas ice. The cashier Skye wasn't outright rude, but her demeanor was that she couldn't be bothered today. From answering questions to cleaning the tables her attitude was don't bother me today.. .and to think she has a TIP JAR next to the register..REALLY LOL.....She kept going into cabinets that held cleaning supplies and etc..she kept slamming the xabinets..(if you know the cabinets are loud , then perhaps you would think to hold them until they close so they don't continuously bang) Angie the cook on duty was AWESOME, she smiled the whole time, she fixed an error I had on my salad (it was my fault and I told Angie I failed to mention) she was great about it..brought it to my table and made small conversation..she also brought out other orders to other customers and was telling them to ENJOY and HAVE A GREAT DAY... Awesome big pickles that were so fun to eat and the sandwiches were large and really good too!

Stopped to have a drink. Rudest bartender we have ever encountered. Could not stand at the bar, kept insisting get a table. We don't prefer to sit at tables she was not nice at all. We just left and will never go back and will let people know not to waste time. There are way to many other places to spend our money in downtown. Recommend Stir! As a man who knows his Italian Hoagies, I can safely rate this as a five star hoagie establishment. I'd consider this one of those hallowed halls of Hoagiedom that I frequent whenever possible - praying at the altar of salty meats and cheeses, enjoying Italian Hoagies with a giant grin across my face. There isn't much seating, but that's not really a big deal since you can bring your hoagie home and eat in front of your family and your dog (ours is named Mocha, she's a Pug-Jack-Russel-Chihuahua and quite a handful) who will all be jealous of the fantastic time you're having devouring such a meaty hoagie. The Italian does the thing where the pepperoni red rubs off the white, white provolone to make an orange color at the bottom of your hoagie - this is what I call the Hoagie Shine. Haven't seen it in years! Also my fat roommate, girlfriend and I enjoy the large selection of awesome beverages they offer - such as the infamous Rickey, which has only recently arrived at the Valero down the street, thanks to my fat roommate dropping hints at the management. My half-Jewish roommate often gets the Meatball Sub, he is the pickiest eater I've ever met, a total food-turtle, mostly PBJs and filtered water, so it's quite impressive for an establishment to pull him out of his food-shell and let him get his maw around food with real value. and this is a place that has food with real value. read more

It's okay. Went here the other day and ate inside. Restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. We ordered 3 sandwiches 3 sides and 3 drinks. Came to a total of nearly $50.00, which in my opinion is rather pricey. The sandwiches were good, but plain and nothing special. We've gotten sandwiches to go from here a few times now and almost every time they have messed up something with our order. Recently they have hired a new employee who takes the phone orders and works the register, and sorry to say it, but this person is an idiot. (must be a relative to be able to keep a job here). I have had to repeat our order to this person several times, and they have to repeat it back to me several more times, and they still screw up our order. When you go to pay the same person tries to work the register, but always has difficulty with it. They will tell you your sandwich will be ready in 15 or 20 minutes, and even though I wait a full half hour before going to pick it up, they usually haven't even started to make it yet. Then it's usually made wrong and you have to wait another 20 minutes for them to fix it. The rest of the workers look overwhelmed and confused, and they are slooooooooow. Don't expect to go here on your lunch break from work unless you get more than a hour for lunch. When you finally get your sandwich, it is just average, nothing special. And for a place called the pickle barrel, you would think their pickles would be outstanding, but in fact I think they are lousy. They also have lousy cole slaw, and if you want something toasted, like a blt or a club sandwich, their toaster only barely toasts the bread on one side. I'm never patronizing them again until they get their act together. I will go to Dagwoods deli instead or make my own sandwich. read more

Decided to try Picke Barrell for lunch, Big Mistake!! Breast of chicken was shredded and the amount in the sandwich couldn't feed a small bird. Was charged $7.25 oh yeah, they gave us a 1/2 pickle cut in 5 pieces. I had already told myself to never go here again though they have moved locations since then. Today I figured I would try them again and ordered a couple of sandwiches for delivery since they aren't far away from my house. After waiting over an hour I had to call to figure out where my lunch was. I then found it would be another half hour or so. Who has that much time to wait for lunch, I know my wife did not. I have had better sandwiches from mini-marts...you're better off making your own. Worst tasting lunch meat, nothing seemed fresh, staff was unfriendly. Really slow service. We ordered to-go and waited about 25 min. Only ordered 2 sandwiches. Other customers were served first and the place wasn't packed at the time.
