Heard they had good cheesesteaks and finally got to try one. I was help by a short blonde girl I can't remember her name. She helped me navigate the menu and added to the experience. Came to this location with my husband when I was 8 months pregnant and the person working told us he couldn't make a sandwich on a pickle which is crazy because there's pictures online of them making them and they're even on their uber eats menu. Music was way too loud for the time we went as well we were the only two people in the building. Hey everyone! This video is Part 1 of our Saturday adventure. Recommended by "The Crewmen" from Outside the Box Live. I was here back in I believe 2018 so with his recommendation I came back. I started out with a cup of their chili, I am not going to say it was spicy, because in my opinion it wasn't. I will say it had a lot of flavors to warm you up on a cold day. The chili was packed with lots on meat, onions, beans, and tomatoes. I really loved this to a point when I make it back there, I am getting a bowl. Now, for the "Uptown". It was a hot sub with pastrami, cheese, and Cole Slaw. There was a dressing taste, but I couldn't tell if it was from the dressing in the slaw or something else. Regardless very delicious also. Oh, and they have great tasting pickles. If you have not been here, or it's been a while like me, come back and get a great sandwich or a cup of chili. There is plenty of parking. When we got there they were busy, I got the grilled cheese, it was okay. The chilli dog was tasty however the actual hotdog was hard to eat because of the casing, not sure what it was, never had a hotdog like that. The mac salad was eh, my boyfriend liked his pickle sandwich. The staff was really nice, this place is busy so maybe their sandwiches are better. Had the soup and a sandwich. Got take out at 3:30 and felt pretty rushed. Soup was fine but cold. Sandwich was fine, but I'm not a fan of their bread (a bit doughy for me). This was our first time eating here. We were traveling from out of state and this place was highly recommended. I will say we were definitely NOT disappointed at all. I got a Legend Philly and added sweet peppers and mushrooms and it has real cheez whiz on it. It was the best steak sandwich I've had anywhere. My wife got an Italian style sub and an antipasto salad. We ate half the food there and then took the rest to go. It was just as good the next day. The flavors are so good and work well together. You a tell this place takes pride in their food and their service. The service alone was extra extraordinary. We would truly drive to Kingston for the sole purpose of eating here. My sandwich was delicious, my group got some other great selections off the menu there's many options to choose from. It's clean, has a variety of drink flavors from the fountain. I had buffalo chicken with some spicy sauce It still wasn't extremely spicy for me as the cashier was concerned lol. Delicious! While visiting the area I stopped in with my family and was able order the Mango Habanero Chicken Cheesesteak special with a bowl of their homemade chicken noodle soup. The bread here is so fresh and soft. You can tell it's all made from scratch with the freshest of ingredients. The only feedback is I feel like the spice could definitely be brought up a few notches, but I also have a high heat tolerance so that might just be me. There's plenty of seating if you'd like to hang out with your family to enjoy your sandwich. I definitely will be returning once I'm back in town. read more

Delicious!! So many different sandwiches to choose from made it difficult to decide, but we ordered three and loved each one. They have fun names that I don't remember but we had a Ruben, Italian cold cut hero and a cheese steak sandwich which tastes like a Big Mac --they were all great. We will be back! read more

I was at the armory for mental health training for work last week and when I had the time I went on here to find something good, but close to the armory. Thank you fellow Yelpers! Another random stop and great lunch! Driving through the Wiles Barre area and found KJ's on Yelp. Very easy to find near lots of shopping. Very clean and nice seating area. The service is very friendly and helpful. Food was creative and delicious, Hubby had "The Clown" an interesting variation of a cheesesteak sandwich. I had the caprese panini with fresh mozzarella , tomatoes and a delicious pesto. Both served with their signature pickles. Didn't go for 5 stars for two reasons. The place became smokey once more lunches started being cooked. Overheard the employees talking about it like it happens everyday. Secondly, the pickle that came with the sandwich, their signature pickle, was actually just two small pieces. I didn't expect a full pickle, but at least a quarter spear would have been better. I might have bought more pickles to go if I got a better taste. Overall, great place I do recommend. read more

Ordered 2 sandwiches for delivery to my work - had noted to bring the food inside as it was raining - Driver left it outside, in the rain, no notification that it was delivered. Ordered an Italian wrap, standard comes with Lettuce, Tomato and Onion, asked for dressing on the side and to add hot peppers. What I got was an Italian on a wrap, no let, tom, or onion, and no dressing. Driest wrap ever! My co-worker also did not receive the side bag of chips she was charged for. I'm not impressed with the Pickle Barrel. I know people that like it, but I don't think it's that great. There aren't many vegetarian options and be careful if you do get a vegetarian sandwich. There were random pieces of lunch meat folded into the tortilla. Who knows how much of it I ate. But I immediately threw it away after seeing this. That shows that they don't keep their sandwich/wrap making station clean. Also, everytime I've ever gotten this wrap it seems like there's only all of the tops and bottom brown pieces of the tomato. read more

After being a loyal customer for years, I was completely caught off guard by the way I was treated today. Being hung up on, not once, not twice, but THREE times, I was very unhappy. I was told the delivery time I chose wasn't available. I explained how we have a set time for lunch, zero wiggle room; also tried asking for an earlier time, I was hung up. I called back 2 more times asking to talk to a manger. Was lied to when they told me he wasn't there. I was put on hold but heard the staff talking about me. I was hung up on again after that. Since when is hanging up on a customer who spends hundreds of dollars yearly, ok? Awful. Never going bac! Such a shame restaurants employ such people read more

Don't be thrown off by the location! Definitely doesn't do it any favors. My wife and I went in for the first time recently, bringing our newborn daughter. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. I can't say enough about them! I ordered the french onion soup and a turkey club. The soup came out first and it was amazing! They even threw a little glove on the handle to protect the patron from being burned. Great touch! The sandwich was really good. Toasted hoagie roll was perfect. My wife had the soup and Reuben and was really happy. Little light on the thousand island dressing, but the staff were accommodating about giving us extra.
