    Beef Stew $6

Kitty's is very much a hole in the wall old school diner. Notice It is cash or Venmo only. I didn't see an ATM. A neighbor recommended this place for soup and I was not disappointed. Soup was great! They usually have 2-3 different soups. I tried chicken noodle and beef stew - delicious! Definitely not a can of progresso - this is the real deal.

We had a great breakfast here with friendly and efficient service! The sweet sausage was a unique add and the breakfast potatoes were delicious and tasted just like my Aunt Violet used to make! Our granddaughter enjoyed her French toast! p.s. we found bunny safe and sound, thanks again!

Cowboy Omelette, home fries, rye toast & coffee

After a week of southern breakfasts, I was craving Philly style breakfast. Danielle fixed me up with strong cup of coffee brewed on a Bunn not some bougie instant machine. The Cowboy omelette had bologna, cheese, peppers, onions and "hot oil" with side of homefries with peppers & onions & rye toast with butter. It was what this Philly girl needed after a week of grits 'n' gravy. Counter seating for me provided me over shoulder look at the griddle guys. It's small area for one person but these two guys work well in tandem. This is typical fare nestled in Port Richmond. Street parking or head over to under I95. Great place to eat for breakfast or lunch. Closed on Sundays. Support your local business.

Holy mackerel what a great old school throwback luncheonette tucked away in the Port Richmond Section of Philadelphia. Holy mackerel what a tasty cheesesteak. When in Port Richmond do as a Port Richmondians do, we got sauteed garlic spinach on our cheesesteak. This Cheesesteak answers the question, what makes a great cheesesteak? It is one someone that knows how to make a cheese steak has great ingredients and is trying to make a great cheese steak, ie City of Brotherly Love, Love. Every piece of this Cheesesteak had flavor and every flavor came through. This was a great overall experience. Kitty's is cash only.

    Scrapple on the Grill

The spinners at the counter are wobbly, and there is a photo of the marriage of JKF and Jackie O. on the wall, but Kitty's Luncheonette is as real as it gets for traditional breakfasts and lunches in this part of Philadelphia. They don't know from brunch, and they close before happy hour; so don't bookmark it for your weekend morning meal, nor try to stop in after work. This is a 7 to 3:30 corner grill that had a few dozen thick scrapple slices frying to a dark brown while I drank their Ellis Coffee and awaited my first taste of their french toast. The house has about a dozen tables in two rooms and eight spinning stools along the counter that overlooks the chef workspace. It was about half full of neighborhood personalities who seemed to know each other as they were greeted by name. The server, a lovely young woman who is Kitty's niece, took care of me, and filled me in on the history of the institution, open since 1952! Yes. It looks its age, with family photos on the walls, and original floors, walls and stools. Either you get the deeply rubbed in culture here, or you don't. With its gritty charm and surprisingly good food, it is easy to develop a crush on Kitty, and want to visit her often. She is as authentic as the day is long. My three slices of thick egged toast were very good. A little sweet from the vanilla and sugar in the mix, and a little crispy on the edges where the hot steel melted that sugar and left its hardened residue. They know how to do FT here. $5.50 was a happy price. The java was strong and a little rough (bitter), but nothing to complain about. Again, her Joe is straight up Bunn-O-Matic. No expresso options with Kitty. Kitty's is very close to I-95, and an easy on/off if you want to stop before reaching Center City from the north. Not sure she could handle becoming a hit on the breakfast bookmark circuit, especially on weekends, so if you want to check her out, come on a weekday morning when the regular crowd is thinner. But, if you like hard stop traditional breakfast without any frills, give this old girl a go.

Kitty's is a great place to have a nice quiet breakfast. They offer a decent menu for your typical diner fare. The food is always fresh and delicious. They have some of the best home fries around, hands down! The eggs are always cooked great, yes at some places that is a difficult thing to do. Kitty's has old school vibe and is cash only. It's also very easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Great service and great food, what more can you ask for? Solid 4 stars.

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I ended up eating all of the pita chips! It was a great lunch and I enjoyed my wrap! I would likely order from Café Square One again in the future, especially, if that wrap is still on their menu!

The $10 martinis on Friday were an excellent deal and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. A well-priced martini always sets a promising tone, and these did exactly that. The bartenders were helpful and kept things moving impressively well, even with a group our size, which was much appreciated. The space itself is huge and very clean, with plenty of tables and seating, so it was easy for everyone to spread out, settle in, and enjoy themselves without feeling packed in. A major point in its favour is the setup for watching sports. They have a massive wall of TV screens, plus more TVs throughout the space, which made it very easy to keep up with multiple games at once. No awkward craning for a view, no fighting for the one good seat, just a very solid setup for a group outing. Overall, it was a fun experience and very much in line with the good times we have had at other City Tap locations in DC.
