The best food in Kittitas county! From breakfast to lunch, pastries, tea and coffees everything is made with care and is perfection on a plate! We have loved every meal we have ever eaten at the Kittitas Cafe. The coffee is incredible, it is made with intention and care. The coffee itself is absolutely delicious, one of the best americanos we have ever had. The Eggs Benny is made with homemade biscuits and hollandaise sauce which is to die for. The pancakes are perfectly fluffy but slightly crisp on the side, delicious! The basic breakfast and avocado toast are also amazing. You can taste care and quality in every bite. The ingredients are fresh and always exceptional! The soups for lunch are homemade and very creative! The chicken noodle, clam chowder and chili are a 10! The season specials are amazing, always new and exciting! This cafe is what this county has needed for decades, the owners make everyone feel welcome and the atmosphere is relaxed and approachable for anyone! This place is a gift. We had heard so much about this place and living in Ellensburg we thought it would be worth checking out. I much say I am not quite sure why this place has 5 stars. The service is good, although since you go to the counter and order your food I am not sure you can call it service. Although, it did come to our table in a timely manner. I was less impressed with the food. I had the biscuit cheese and egg sandwich. It was very dry, like sawdust in my mouth. My husband had the breakfast burrito. He said his was no better then ones ha has had at other restaurants. No sure I would make the drive back here. read more

They make real coffee here, excellent cortado not milky and not much foam! It's hard to find a cafe that actually knows how to make coffee in this area, the food is also great! Quite an unpleasant experience. Per the owner's response, this did happen 9 months ago, and I was just too frustrated to even post the review then, but it should not matter when the review gets posted. I message privately to respond as I am unable to do so on the review. We were visiting my husband's daughter in Ellensburg and was looking for a brunch place to go to Sunday morning. Saw this place served brunch until 1030am and we got in at 1010. I went to the counter and said we came in for brunch and was told yes and to find a seat. We sat down for about 5 mins and no one came, so I went up to the counter again and asked if anyone was coming to take our order, or if we can get menus. The batista then said, "Oh, you have to wait in line to order". At this point, the line was to the door. I also want to note, that we made it up to the counter already once and was told to find seats...So I stood in line while my husband and his daughter checked the menu. We waited in line from 1015 to 1035 when we got to the counter. Then when we tried to order, the same batista that told me to take a seat, the same one told me they still serve brunch, the same one who knew we were there for brunch, said "sorry, time for ordering brunch ended at 10:30". I was so shocked by the expression on her face as if she intentionally did it. We walked out. Horrible service... will not go back especially now after how the owner revised her response as if I am in the wrong for posting 9 months later. read more

We always enjoy this cafe but this weekend they really hit it out of the park when they made scones, cinnamon rolls, and croissants for my daughter's bridal shower! It was a special surprise for her and everyone loved them! We will keep going back for great breakfasts, lunches, and excellent customer service! This is a cute, hip little cafe in the town of Kittitas that we discovered about a month or so ago - and we've lived outside of Ellensburg for nearly two years! Anyway, they serve some really good food. Eggs Benny are my go-to, as there are several options: ham, capicola, chorizo or avocado (the avocado is my choice). They have delicious coffee drinks, and they have some great lunch items. The service and all the staff are amazing! My one complaint is this: the food is almost just barely lukewarm, as is the coffee (the exception is their delicious hashbrowns!). If you request additional hollandaise, it is given to you cold. The biscuits, while really delicious, and different (I believe they are an Aussie recipe) are always cold, too. We do not know why this is, because other than the temperature issue, we love this place, and we will always keep coming back. I would definitely have given Kittitas Cafe a 5-star review if the food was hot. read more

Stopped here on our way back to Seattle from the Gorge Amphitheater. The breakfast was on point. Great coffee, wonderful service. We had the Aussie breakfast and the avocado toast with poached eggs. The homemade biscuits were the best we've ever tasted. Delicious! read more

This the perfect place for lunch or breakfast. We were traveling east on interstate 90, and decided to stop here for lunch. It is less than a mile from 90. We had two great sandwiches and a cup of soup. Everything was so delicious! The service was excellent and the people were very friendly. They have nice indoor seating, and a large outdoor seating area with umbrellas. We will definitely stop here again when we are passing by Kittitas. read more

Maybe the best kept secret in Washington? You can really tell how much love the owners put into this business, it's a lovely space with a cool stage set up in the back for live shows. I live in California so I don't know when I'll ever be road tripping from Seattle to Richland again but if you find yourself on I 90 you should really stop here. Delightful indoor and outdoor seating. Wonderfully happy and helpful staff! Amazingly great food. We arrived about 10:30 Friday morning for a birthday brunch. Ordering was smooth, order was taken and delivered exactly correct. Eggs benedict was outstanding, the Aussie breakfast was said to be great by two people. Caramel/Coconut scone, not one crumb left. Coffee drinks were good, iced tea was strong, but can be diluted, and good. Staff checked on us several times. We are outdoors at a nice patio table with retractable umbrella in a patio/yard setting, very clean and nice. And to wrap that all up, prices were fair. I tried their ABLT sandwich which is a BLT with avocado. I got it in a gluten free bun & I had to double check that it was gluten free because it was so soft & delicious like regular bread. I was in town for a weekend event for 2 days & my sandwich was so good, I got an identical one the following day. I'll have to go back again someday. read more

We were heading to Seattle for a Seahawks game and found a place to stop for the night not far off the interstate in a little town called Kittitas WA. I woke with my usual coffee craving of course. Anyway I had looked online for coffee houses that are up and running as early as I am and I came across The Kittitas Cafe. Unfortunately it's not open as early as I wake up. Still I decided to check out the menu and I was very curious so I waited for it to open and I went to check it out. "I'm so happy that I did!" The greeting was very unexpected because these days you just don't expect to walk in a restaurant and get a genuine welcome. People are all about getting you in and out and getting paid. This is definitely not the case at this place. Never been there before and I was literally treated like a friend/family. That's what sold me on the place for sure. The food on the other hand, it was (for real) like waking up as a child and stumbling into the kitchen and sitting down to mom's homemade breakfast. I absolutely love this place and will definitely return. I would recommend it to anyone!!!! Give it a shot and I bet you won't be disappointed. Sorry no pictures of the food.
