I found Sergio through Thumbtack after struggling to find any handyman services that weren't booked…read moreout weeks/months in advance and actually responded to me. I emailed Sergio from the website to initiate the process and from our initial email we began communicating via text message. Sergio came out on a Monday to provide a quote for significant yard work. The yard work included removing tons of overgrown and invasive plants on my grandmother-in-law's Kingston property (think blackberries et al) and removal of some random junk on the property, as well as cutting down of bamboo (grandma's property has a creek running through it and there's more bamboo than the fertile lands of Asia). Sergio reviewed everything we wanted done and quoted it would take about 40 hours with 3 guys to process the work and removal of everything we wanted done. The rate is $25 per hr per worker so the estimate worked out to about 3k. Of course, I'm always expecting unexpected things to come up and I have zero experience hiring someone to do significant yard work like this. Sergio and I agreed to the work via text after receiving the quote. The next Monday morning he and one of his guys showed up promptly at 8am and began hacking away at junipers and blackberry plants on the property with machetes (what. haha.) I live in Seattle so I wasn't easily able to come out and constantly check on their progress. Sergio had one guy with him on Monday and Tuesday-Thursday he had two guys with him. Initially, we planned on them finishing on Friday but something came up and they promptly came (four guys, actually) on Saturday and finished everything off. The actual cost for (approximately) 40 hours with 3 guys was about $3,300 with about $750 in dump run fees (yeah bringing all those trimmings and leaves sure get expensive at the Kitsap dump, I've done it on my own in the past). And then sales tax for his services a couple hundred. Overall, it was about 4k, which was 1k over budget but seeing as $750 was dump run costs and like $350 was sales tax, it totally met my expectations. Sergio and his crew are polite, fast, friendly, and hard working. I'm pleased that we selected Sergio for our yard work. They did a significant amount of yard waste hacking and removal. My grandmother-in-law is very attached to some of the plants so they were very careful about preserving and protecting specific plants (whichever plants so wanted stayed, and the overgrown invasive plants growing on top of them were removed) and Sergio and his crew were clearly professionals at handling these Pacific Northwestern flora. If you're looking for someone who will work hard for you and be very fair, I would recommend emailing, calling, or texting Sergio to bring him out for a quote. Other projects we are about to have done that Sergio may be involved with and stated he and his crew can do, and will quote separately: -power washing and painting her house -grading, levelling, and filling her drive way with rock -aerating and seeding grass and laying sod -placing pavers to create unprecedented walkways -removal of old fences and installation of new fences So in addition to yard and junk waste removal, as well as professionally manicuring her plants, shrubs, and trees, Sergio and his team can do pretty much anything. Contact him for a quote. I highly recommend. :)

Jay was a personal recommendation. I would give him 10 stars if I could…read more We contracted him to renovate two bathrooms in an older home occupied by our daughter. I understand what that process can uncover! And, yes, some "hidden" issues were revealed during the demolition, but each was professionally addressed and solved. Both bathrooms were demolished to bare walls and floor studs. Jay installed tile in the shower and in the tub areas (beautifully removing the old awful materials and painstakingly preparing the walls for tile), and installed Luxury Vinyl Planks, after removing old tile floors and laying new subfloors in both bathrooms. The job took a bit longer than anticipated, and that was no problem whatsoever. Jay pays attention to detail. He does not cut corners. He communicates throughout the entire process. He shows up on time and puts in a full days work. The end result was perfect. The price was very fair! I wish he lived closer to our home in Vancouver Washington. I would hire him for everything!

Not only are the floors pristine and back to their originally-installed beauty, working with Jason was simply wonderful! From estimation of the job, Q&A, scheduling, sanding and right up to the final coat of finish, Jason was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and always right on time. Once you meet him, you quickly see he actually enjoys his work and that he's an expert in wood flooring. He answered all our questions thoroughly and patiently. Based on all this, we were very confident from the outset that he would do a wonderful job on our floors - and he did!  Knowing our floors were in a true professional's hands definitely made the whole process much less stressful. In addition, the cost of the refinishing job was fair and affordable; he was even able to offer us an active duty military discount. We received quotes from other local refinishers and it felt like we were being nickel and dimed. Kitsap Wood Flooring was the complete opposite and provided excellent value for the work. We will highly recommend Kitsap Wood Flooring to all our friends in the Kitsap co. area and will definitely return to Jason if we need help with our floor down the road.  If you're looking for a wood flooring professional for install or refinishing work, I highly recommend giving Kitsap Wood Flooring a call/email.
