As Momma Yelp would say, "Holy crap what a party!" Review #400. Mid October of 2009 Porsche planned the United States debut of its first four door sedan, a festively named rocket ship know as the Panamera. Beverly Hills Porsche had the pleasure and duty to help with the Los Angeles unveiling. It's been quite a while since I've organized such an important event and with ever shrinking marketing budgets I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with the idea of pulling off something as big as this. I started calling in favors form friends in the event planning business. It didn't take long to realize things could very easily get out of hand and go terribly over budget. I started to put the word out that I needed something special yet affordable and after a few stellar recommendations and a bucket load of due diligence I decided to contact Michael Kay form Kitchen 12000. Originally I was only looking for a catering company that could handle the food and beverage service. I thought I had the rest of the bases covered. However after meeting with Michal I decided to let his mad genius take over the better part of my event. We decided to call the project Viva Panamera! Michael sourced a top notch DJ, a crew of professional photographers and a crack security team. His Kitchen 12000 chefs, servers and bar staff had already established a great reputation and became the corner stone of this project. The 24 hours leading up to an event is always the most stressful. Michael and his staff kept re assuring me that this was going to be an experience that my guests would not soon forget. The stress kept building as the event grew nearer. Several of the key components that I had been working on started to fall apart and of course the torrential rains moved in. Michael worked with me on a contingency work around just incase the rain forced the event indoors. He also offered to pick up some of the slack my other vendors were hanging me up with. Looking back K-12000 got 80% of my budget and did 110% of the work. Next time I write one check and let them do it all. The Panamera launch was a qualified success! Mother Nature moved the rain clouds to the east, the sun dried off the grounds and Kitchen 12000 brought their A-game. The K-12'ers arrived and Beverly Hills Porsche underwent a transformation from car lot to night club. Everything looked amazing! The red carpet style entry with paparazzi press wall impressed. The flowers, candles, tables, bars and DJ booth all worked their magic to create the right mood. When the food came out my guests were truly impressed. I had a few people tell me over and over again how much they loved the prosciutto wrapped dates unless that was just the little voices in my head. From beginning to end everything went off as planned with one exception. I didn't budget enough for booze. Thankfully Michael came to the rescue and had some emergency bottles delivered to save my skin. I applaud Michael Kay and the outstanding performance by the entire Kitchen 12000 team. Viva Panamera! I cannot say enough about this FOOD - KAY12 catered our wedding in October 2021, and I do not exaggerate when I say that the number one compliment we had on our wedding was the food. It truly speaks for itself, but for months following, one of the FIRST thing people tell us is "OMG the food at your wedding was amazing". Holy crap. Who knew I liked pork belly so much?! They catered an event today that was supposed to be all about the desserts, but I don't know... I was more all about the real food grub. They presented a pretty awesome concept in around the world hummus and chips. The pinto bean hummus was by far my favorite. I don't know, maybe it's the Mexican in me. As noted earlier, that pork belly was pretty amazing. It melted in your mouth and tasted so. darn. good. I also had a piece of beef that was pretty good, along with some sort of quiche with caviar on it. Yum. I had a hard time picking up one of their "shooters" which were foods on little spoons. I swear, every time I saw a lady come out with a tray she was swarmed and I was left with nothing. So they must've been good. The service was wonderful, friendly, and on top of everything. What an interesting event company. I totally did not expect airline stewardesses walking around serving me food and drinks on rolling carts, walking the catwalk with paparazzi, handing out airline food trays, and demoing flotation devices and pink seatbelts. So bizarre, yet cool at the same time. They surely created an evening to remember, filled with visual delights and treats. The entire event ran very smoothly and all the staff were great! I hate to give minus one star for their "prime rib/steak" with greenbeans food tray because the vinegar dressing on the greenbeans was way too sour and the steak did actually have a huge glob of fat attached to the meat. However, my husband and I LOVED their killer kabobs mixed with hummus and tzatziki over soft white rice (He liked the beef better and I liked the chicken kabob better). I worked with Chelsea, Michael & Katy @ Kitchen12000 for over 6 months in planning my bridal shower in my backyard. I must have emailed Chelsea over a hundred times with questions and changes to the menu, and she never once made me feel like I was being annoying or wasting her time. We love the K12000 team 100 times more after the wedding then before if its even possible. 1st - I spent zero time on my wedding day stressed about how the venue setup was coming along and was able to enjoy time with my ladies getting dolled up. Nonee was always available when we needed and constantly reassured up until the moment the event started. 2nd - We went with an unconventional wedding with food stations, limited seating & a funky layout. My wife and I were definitely pleased with their services and let me tell you, there was a lot going on. So let me tell you how this started... ...as soon as I was tasked with looking for caterers from the wifey, I hit up K12000 and we were soon on our way to a private tasting at the K12000 headquarters. Michael greeted us at the door and welcomed us with open arms and a congratulations! We were given a tour of the space and then seated. This is where Michael came through with an onslaught of appetizers ranging from vegan to vegetarian to carnivorous delicacies and they blew our minds!!! I seriously could've just had an appetizer platter for all of our guests and I'm sure they would've been blown away - but that's not my steeez - it's a formal occasion and things must be coursed out. Next Michael came through with the salads, sides and entrees and it was definitely hard to decipher which ones we like best because they were all so delicious! Post dinner, we briefly discussed the options and how their system works. Once that was over, it was the countdown to the big day... We had several meetings with the K12000 team and a meeting at the reception site and everyone was totally on board to make this event a smooth and memorable one. Their service was excellent and personable which made for better communication for the other vendors we had chose. THE BIG DAY. K12000 showed up on time in the wee hours of the morning ready to set up and prep for the big day. I on the other hand was blown away when I first stepped foot inside of the Vibiana because I had to do some posin' for the photographers. The behind the scenes of what goes on to put a wedding together was mind blowing! K12000 not only did our catering but they handled much more such as the beautiful dance floor, tables, chairs, dinner settings, ice and more... so I would highly recommend asking about the rest of their services because they are highly resourceful. During the cocktail hour, the K12000 team were rockin' their uniforms while expediting the delicious appetizers. How did I know they were delicious? Not only because I tried all of them prior but because each server would get swarmed by my guests and they wouldn't even be able to walk the full outdoors - Good Sign!!! During dinner, all that I kept on hearing our guests rave about was the BRAISED BEEF otherwise known as the Beef Cheeks! Completely licked clean from every platter at the wedding!!! All of the other dishes were just as good but the Beef Cheeks were the hit of the evening! I have not participated in a Kitchen 12000 catered event yet, but I was very upset with their level of professionalism this past weekend, as a number of their employees started carrying huge bags of trash through the restaurant I was having lunch at. What kind of idiots walk through someone else's restaurant with bags of trash??? And then ignores the manager's protests. Who knew that you could get pork belly that is nearly half fat and slightly less than half meat, put it on a skewer and make me want to eat more of those than any chocolate at a predominately chocolate filled event. The folks at Kitchen 12000 did so. With caterers dressed in funky post modern David bowie outfits, wearing tutus and passing out mushroom stuffers as well as serving up milk, I don't know how to describe the folks at Kitchen12000 as anything more than brilliant and frankly, if I have an event that needs catering, I'm going to look them up. Not only do they have a signature look and feel to their craft, but the food was simply amazing on all fronts. There presentation was second only to the taste of these meal offerings. A-maze-In! I haven't tried much from Kitchen 1200 but their service is FANTABULOUS!! I scored some mashed potatoes and green beans and they were so good. The mashed potatoes had pieces of potatoes mixed in, just how I like it. And the green beans had that crunch I loved. The original dish had meat with it, but one of their servers, Mario (HI MARIO!), was nice enough to make me my own box of food, vegetarian style at the Yelp event. So, ignore my 5 stars above -- the only reason there aren't more stars is because yelp won't let me. If I write a second review does that count as 10 stars? This company deserves it. OMG. Everyone we worked with was amazing!!! I can't say enough nice things about these guys. We had originally had a different caterer, who, to make a long story short, didn't work out at the last minute. And, at the last minute, not only was Michael Kay there to take our call, he calmed us down and told us to come see him the following day. He meant what he said when he told us not to worry. He really saved our wedding. Not only did he save it, but I am genuinely grateful that the whole "other caterer" fiasco (and yes, it was a fiasco) happened because it allowed us to find Kitchen 12000. Their food was incredible. Our tasting was some of the best food I've EVER had (and i eat out a lot). Michael was our main contact person and pulled everything together, but we also directly worked with Jerry and Nonee, who were also amazing. Jerry came up with these specialty cocktails that were unique and yummy - we couldn't give our guests enough! And Nonee is super organized, (something that i'm not) so she really helped me keep on schedule. Our big day came - Michael, Jerry and team were there early prepping everything to perfection. His whole team was professional, friendly and efficient. All night people showered us with compliments for our food. Which, as you know is not always a given with any business these days. I was so excited to have them cater my wedding this past May. Kitchen 12000 catered a friend of mines wedding reception. I have worked in the restaurant industry for several years and could not believe the attention to detail that their wait staff displayed. They were on point with everything and my glass never went empty. The whole staff was very nice and very professional. Especially the bartender. I chatted it up with him for a bit, made really good drinks and was a real friendly guy. Now, the food was outstanding! I really enjoyed the gorgonzola stuffed babybella mushrooms amongst all the other delicious dishes. I had a chance to meet the owners Michael and Nonee after the dinner while everyone was dancing. Not over exaggerating at all, they were probably the kindest people I every met. SUPER COOL, totally humble, and they even gave me food to take home. Kitchen 1200 was the caterer at a music festival our band played this weekend in Santa Ana Ca. At one point during the day I got a text from my guitar player saying "I just had the most amazing beef in the backstage food tent !!! They cook it for FIVE DAYS" It turned out to be Beef Cheek in a Fig Wine Reduction. Holy Cow!! This stuff was sooo tender and delicious. The cabbage salad had a slight hint of mint. Very good. I recently attended a wedding in Malibu, Ca that was catered by Kitchen 12000's and it was amazing. The view was breath taking, the venue was beautiful and the food was perfect. It was a Brazilian themed wedding and the food and drink made it feel as if we where on the beaches of sau paulo. The shrimp wrapped bacon appetizers where to die for. Perfectly sautéed with nice crispy salty bacon. The pulled pork mini burgers where moist and tasty with a sweet and tangy bbq sauce that matched perfectly. While they seem to know what they're doing in the kitchen I found out that they go above and beyond the kitchen. They built custom dining tables for the bride and grooms party. Beautiful rustic antique tables that looked like it was for the queens and kings of this world. They're staff was friendly, professional and worked with constant smiles to make sure we got what we wanted and that's a huge plus as they knew they where there for the guests and not just to collect a check. It's awesome to know that Kitchen 12000 can do it all. I'm definitely recommending them for my brothers wedding next summer. read more

Kitchen12000 will change your life. If you're dubious, I understand. It's a bold claim. I wouldn't have believed a catering company (but they're oh so much more!) could change my life either... but sometimes you just meet a group of people that has an incontrovertible impact on you. Kitchen12000 is one of those groups. Sadly, I think it's safe to say that most of us are accustomed to encountering people who do only the bare minimum. Imagine my delight when I first began to realize that Kitchen12000 does the maximum. I'm the kind of person who whips up her own lemon curd, makes her bed with homemade linen water and folds those little triangles into new rolls of toilet paper, so it was simply a revelation to find other people who not only understand attention to detail, but who rejoice in it. Our timetable was unreasonable at best: an event for 225-250 people with fewer than 4 weeks notice. With a venue that needed to be utterly transformed. Items we had to accomplish were as follows: food & service, lighting, massive tents, decor, furniture, valet parking and so on. It was daunting to say the least but the moment I got off the phone with Mr. Michael Kay, I knew. In fact, I raced downstairs to tell my husband, "It's all taken care of. Kitchen12000 is just amazing and they're going to make it happen." Then, with just one week to go, our head count exploded. I called Kitchen12000 and Michael Kay & Luana handled the extra 100 or so projected attendees without so much as a hint of panic. As if to say, "Sure, 100 more? Why not?" The night of our event I could have cried tears of happiness. The way everything was coming together...it reminded me of walking into my wedding reception, seeing a vision manifested. I nearly lost it when the floral arrangements started showing up. They were taller than me! And the tent space only got more gorgeous as the night went on... the clear night sky showing through the transparent ceiling, the palm trees lit from below, the chill lounge conversation corner. It was grand. And it was all thanks to Kitchen12000. Did I mention attention to detail? The servers showed up with hair & makeup. Not that they needed it. These were clearly The Beautiful People. Beautiful people serving beautiful food. Tuscan-style meatballs, Rosemary crumb-crusted Baby Lamb Chops, Oreo cake truffles et al. People said it was the best hummus they'd ever tasted. I'm not making this up. I'm sure there's so much more that even I missed, as I was busily circulating around the party. I was a veritable communication hub with one company walkie, my phone and the device with which Kitchen12000 outfitted me. A walkie-talkie with an earpiece and microphone kept me in their loop and their announcements/pep talks contributed to my constant smiling. The day of the event, Michael Kay said something to the effect of, "Today I work for both your company & Kitchen12000 and you work for both Kitchen12000 and your company." And we did. It was total teamwork... from the two of us to Luana & Lex, and so, so many other fantastic people. I cannot say enough good things about everyone I met. Their energy was delightfully infectious. I had to stifle an urge to high five the team every time I walked past. Simply put, Kitchen 12000 works miracles. Or perhaps it's magic? Chelsea helped us figure out an amazing arrangement within our budget and answered all of our questions in detail whenever we had them. During the actual wedding, several people on the Kay12 staff asked me and my husband if there was anything we needed throughout the day even while they were busy prepping other things. We also had several guests weeks after the wedding tell us how good the food was. We hired K12000 for our June wedding and could not have been happier with the entire process and result! First off, Nonee was fantastic to work with. She made everything super clear and simple to understand and if there was ever an issue she was on top of everything. Kitchen 12000 catered an evening roof-top charity event for us on one of the hottest and most humid days of the summer yet their food was as fresh and tasty as ever and their staff were always upbeat, friendly, smiling and professional, even in the excessive conditions. Normal catering staff would have wilted, or complained I'm pretty sure. Due to lack of time and mental bandwidth I turned the catering and event planning over to them and they literally took it from there and did a PHENOMENAL job for us. I was lucky enough to attend an event catered by Kitchen12000. The food was excellent and displayed beautifully. I am a huge fan of grilled meats and when I saw a variety of kebobs being served by the wonderful staff, I was the happiest person in the room. The bar was stocked with premium spirits; the bartenders knew their drinks, set up a beautiful bar and were very fun to be around. Nonee, Michael and he rest of the crew are extremely friendly and attentive, you can tell they like their job and make sure that you and your guests are having a great time. The food was outstanding, especially the appetizers, I couldn't stop from tasting almost all of them from the mini burgers that were over the top to the shrimp skewer appetizers with a sweet/spicy sauce. Alex and Mike are purely amazing!!! Recently went to an event that they were catering at. Although it was pretty busy, the guys didn't even take a minute to start working on my bowl! As soon as I tried my first spoonful I couldn't believe it....Bottom Line : AMAZING VEGAN FOOD. The hummus/eggplant/quinoa/yogurt combo was simply perfection. Top-notch friendly staff and lovely turn of the century architecture. The only thing that prevented me from a 5 star rating was that we couldn't eat dinner here because they sold out the restaurant for a private group and didn't have a full menu in the M Bar as promoted. We had to eat at an outside restaurant which defeated one of the main reasons I booked to stay here. read more
