This review is for lunch for three in the dining room at Noon on a Monday. bar: It's a full, well stocked bar. I drank a Salt City IPA, which was a great find. The tab said it was $7.72 for two 16 oz. draws? That is the most amazing happy hour or lunch deal I've ever encountered! I've attached a copy of the receipt because I'm just that amazed. service: Faith was our waitstaff and she did a great job. We had a bunch of questions and she was very knowledgeable. In addition, she got everything exactly correct, even though we had substitutions and requests. food: Burgers were unavailable due to some HVAC work in the kitchen (as of 7/11/23) so I had the Reuben with seasoned fries ($11.49) which was awesome. My wife had a chicken wrap with blackened chicken with a cup of chili (also $11.49) which was equally great. All the food we saw looked great. The menu has some great variety. Everyone will be able to find something they like. space: It's a large dining room. We snagged a booth. Even for lunch early in the week, the space was filling up. Might get busy on the weekends. Looks like plenty of bar seats and some high tops in the bar area. Nice clean place with a lot of space. Our waitress was great. I had a southwest wrap with seasoned fries, and both were pretty good. I have to call out the fries. They were hot, both physically and spicy (not too spicy). Overall a decent experience. Worth a try if you haven't ever stopped in. read more

Given this is such a small town, I do not have high expectations for gourmet food. However, I was not expecting my chicken fried chicken pre-packed patty dropped in a deep fryer. Rather sad. Reminded me of my school lunches. My mashed potatoes were incredibly dry and pretty bland. The gravy that came with it wasn't bad, but I am positive that it came from a package instead of homemade. The homemade bread that was served with the meal was rather good. The hamburger plate was about 1/2 the cost of the chicken. I was told by my dinner companion that it was good. The seasoned fries were identical to the OreIda ones I buy at the grocery store. Good, but not the home cooked meal I expected from this place. I did notice a layer of grime that covered just about everything. There was food and crumbs all over the floor and it looked like they hadn't vacuumed in several days. Take a pass on this one. Despite the appeal of the menu's item descriptions, this place just did not live up to them. I do love the fact that they are located in an old building in the downtown area, but it was unappealing to notice a distinct musty smell upon entering. First of all, when you deliver a (bagged) salad to a patron, allow them time to eat it before bringing out their order instead of just four bites. And make sure that all of the ingredients are fresh! The tomatoes were not. The chicken fried steak was a total disappointment. Who wants to go out for dinner and be presented with preformed breaded meat patties that have zero flavor? The mashed potatoes and gravy didn't help improve the dish at all. My meal cost close to $15. My attempt to find a great local spot to eat was thwarted by a complete lack of imagination. Very good place in Parsons,KS! They have a great variety to choose from. My favorites are their wraps and sandwiches! The only issue I have had in the past is the wait for the food. Based on a recommendation from the hotel I was staying I figured I try this place out. Very nice decor and an extensive menu. It appears the locals love this place because it filled up fast for a Monday night. Service started off great until it started getting busy. By the end of the meal the server through down the bill without saying a word. The beer was nice and cold. I ordered the salmon and it was prepared to my liking. Had the Mexican chicken soup (otherwise known as tortilla soup anywhere other than Kansas) it was delivered right away hot and delicious. For the meal I ordered the chicken and friends sandwich (or sammich) really good. Chicken was grilled with just the right amount of crisp.
