Stumbled on this little gem while traveling through what I call the "food desert" of Kansas. Cute little (and I do mean little) Mom and Pop cafe. Beef Burgers are, what we in the Midwest called Loosemeats or Taverns. Beef burger was good and can be served in a bowl if you're avoiding bread. Fun stop! read more

We ate there last week. We went in at lunch time and were able to park right out front. We selected our seats and reviewed the menu. As the name suggests it's a burger place. The tables and chairs were mismatched, the decor was a bit dated - and we loved it. Fantastic food, personable owners and we enjoyed our stop. Right down town on the square - if you pass thru Fredonia Kansas at eating time - give Bobs a try - you will be glad you did. Prices were maybe better than the food - very reasonable. We're from Wichita and will stop again. read more

We were happy that they offered inside sitting. We were helped right away and received good service. We each ordered the 1/4 pound burgers, my mom ordered the reg fries and I got the Susie Q's (curly fries) which are made in house, so highly recommend the Susie Qs. This was the single worst customer service experience I've ever had. We didn't even order so I cannot provide food quality feedback. The place was filthy and the person at the counter was the rudest person I've ever encountered in. We came in as a party of three (me, my husband and my 84 year old father) and no one else was there. The woman watched us seat ourselves (there were about four tables, and only one that seated at least three), threw three menus on the table and then disappeared to the back. She came out to service two other people who came in after us to get orders to go and never acknowledged us. Horrible. Would give it nothing stars if I could. read more

This is a wonderful mom & pop's type place in small town America that always brings me happiness. If you are even around here it's worth the time and effort to make a stop. There are only about 5 tables inside so be prepared to be sitting in close quarters. They offer loose meat burgers and other down home items. I settled on the pork tenderloin with some onion straws. Don't be in a hurry when you come here and just relax until you food comes. The onion straws came out first and they were hot and fresh. You can tell they are hand breaded and just the right thickness in the onion rings. The only drawback on these was they were a little heavy handed with the salt. My pork tenderloin came out not long after the onion rings and it was very nicely breaded as well. It was hot and fresh for sure and I had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down. The pork tenderloin was very tender, juicy, flavorful, and had a nice breading on it. It was so large that I had to cut it in half and then stack it up to make it somewhat fit to the bun. This really is a wonderful stop and a slice of Americana at it's best. I'll stop again for sure and I am proud to support local mom & pop places instead of corporate suits. read more

Way too expensive, first of all my jaw dropped when she told me $30 for 3 beef burgers and two orders of susie Q's. Got them home and was SO dissapointed. The beef burgers were like catfood on nasty cheap buns with MUSTARD which wasn't said to me over the phone, I asked her to keep all the sides on the side but apparently they couldn't do that, the response was well we will see if we can, OK so back up... does that mean that they are premade and sit around???, The susie Q's were discusting, a large foam dish of soggy, i repeat SOGGY and luke warm... I was even standing waiting for them to finish "frying" my Q's. then explain to me how they came out SOGGY ... I'm surprised I didn't hear a microwave going off. On top of that it was WAY to greasy and the place itself was filthy, dirty walls from floor to ceiling. GROSS! is all I can say. read more
