Excellent installation - Poor follow up I paid $22,00 to have a new bathroom installed three years ago. They did an excellent job. They followed the timeline that Dave laid out. The workmen were here everyday until it was completed. It turned out beautiful. Fast forward to today three years later..... I called Kitchen Mart because I was having a problem with the nozzle on the hand held sprayer and the faucet for the tub. I was told by Kitchen Mart that it sounded like a cartridge issue and that I would have to call the Delta faucet people myself, describe the problem and possibly try and fix it over the phone. I asked if they could just send someone out here and access the problem and fix it. Yes they could do that however I still have to order the cartridge because Delta wouldn't send Kitchen Mart one, it has to be trouble shooted over the phone with ME before a cartridge can be ordered and sent. I cannot believe that Kitchen Mart sells Delta faucets but doesn't carry something simple like a cartridge. Or that they would put up with this nonsense from Delta! And to top it all off its going to cost me $150 for Kitchen Mart to come out and access the problem. Then I order the part from Delta, then Kitchen Mart charges me another $150 to come back and install it!!!!!!! Or I can call a plumbing company they recommend who may even carry that part on their truck and would charge me $80 for the service call. If this plumbing company can manage to do this why can't Kitchen Mart? If you use them for installation you'll get a beautiful job done on time. Just don't expect too much if you need follow up. Kitchen Mart just finished my kitchen and did a fabulous job. The design was beautiful, the craftmanship was excellent, and the workers were polite and professional. There were some problems but Kitchen Mart stepped up to the plate and fixed everyone of them to our satisfaction. The only complaint I have and I have seen this complaint in other reviews is that once you are off the calendar it is hard to get ahold of the project manager and they have to fit you in so it can take some time. We wereplanning to sell our house in a year or two and our realtor recommended we update our two bathrooms. After searching the web I happened to talk with a neighbor that had Kitchen Mart do a job so I called for an estimate. I was somewhat shocked to learned the earliest would be in 3 months but I went ahead and booked it. When Gary finally came out he looked at the two bathrooms, made some measurements and comments then proceeded to write in his notebook. Along the way he made some comments and I wrote some things down thinking I would eventually get a written estimate. He then wrote down the estimate and gave it too us. $43,000 for one bathroom! Apparently this didn't even cover the painting, permits, etc. I must say it was a lot more than what we were prepared for for an update. Anyway, still in a little shock he left without any documentation. The next day I emailed him asking for a breakdown so we can decide if we wanted to do part of it or cut some corners. He didn't respond for a couple of weeks. I then left a voicemail but still no response. I called the office and told them I've been trying to reach him. He finally called back and said I'll get it to you in a couple days. Nothing for a couple more weeks. I called his supervisor Marcus and he apologized and said he'll talk with Gary. Gary emailed me and said he dropped the ball and can't remember the details so I told him. Another two weeks went by and nothing. Marcus had said he would make sure it happened but even he didn't check. I finally gave up and emailed the owner and told him the long frustrating story. He said sorry and please don't write a review. You get the impression that if it's not a big ticket remodel they don't bother cause they're too busy. We recently determined that our kitchen was outdated and needed an update. We talked with several kitchen remodelers and determined that Kitchen Mart fit our budget and timeline. We were very happy with our choice. Their design staff worked with us to select all the colors and parts for our new kitchen. The work crew were courteous, professional and did a superb job. We had our cabinets refaced, with new fronts, drawers, pulls and silent closures. We also had them install new counter tops. We purchased the back splash and appliances which they installed. This is the second kitchen, Kitchen Mart has done for me. I am again very happy with their workmanship, service and professionalism. After my project was done, they came back, at no charge, to help me hang a wall clock onto the tile. When I have mentioned to people that I used Kitchen Mart, the usual refrain is......"oh, they are too expensive.....!" Well, this is my experience. I started on my kitchen remodel last year and contacted two contractors plus Kitchen Mart. My project was under $15,000. The first contractor (highly recommended) did show for the appointment, but never got me a quote or responded to e-mails and phone calls. The second contractor pretty much 'dumped' me, when I scaled back the project a bit and he told me to go "hire a handyman." Kitchen Mart came through with a quote. This spring, I resumed my quest to get my kitchen done and went to Atlas Kitchen in Rancho Cordova and found a beautiful sample of quartz for my counters. I called them twice, very excited, and told them to call because I wanted to get going on my kitchen. They never returned my two phone calls. But, once again, Kitchen Mart came through with a timely quote and completed my kitchen in September 2016. So for me, Kitchen Mart is the only reliable 'game' in town for big or small projects. To me their pricing is reasonable, and though I'm sure 'someone' could always undercut their price, I doubt that I would get the same quality. read more

This place is awful. We went in there as we were thinking about putting an offer to buy a home that needed a new kitchen. We wanted to understand the costs and what serviced they provide. They would not talk to us because we did not own the home. Said when they could measure, they would work with us. They were even stingy with brochures. No help at all. Home Depot was more friendly. first the good. Their employees were courteous and neat. We are happy with the cabinets and counter top install. Now the bad, we are 6 weeks into the project and not yet done. We were told this was a two week project, and in reality, it should have been. Once Kitchen Mart got most of our money in progress payments, it seems like they moved on to other projects, most likely because they promised the jobs to be completed before Thanksgiving. We have been told they would be back next week, but they have not kept prior commitments so we are not optimistic. In addition, some of the work already installed has started to fail before the job is even complete. An email to their company regarding our complaint was ignored. we have done major remodels before with other companies and have not had any of the problems with commitments we are experiencing with kitchen mart. i would not recommend this company to anyone looking to do a remodel on their kitchen. read more

I went with KitchenMart to refaced my cabinets because I was impressed by their showroom display, their cordial sales staff, and positive reviews on Yelp. However, I was disappointed by the quality of their work, long delay in finishing the project (2 months), and put off by the conceited attitude projected by of this company. As instructed, I contacted KitchenMart to schedule my project. I was assigned a start date, August 25, which could not be moved unless I wanted to wait 3 months. This inflexibility forced me to reschedule all of the other sub-contractors. Furthermore, I was told to remove the plywood countertops by that date, as KitchenMart was not responsible for the prep work since they were not installing the counters. KitchenMart was scheduled to finish the job on September 3rd. The first installer introduced himself as a 'master craftsman'. He said I should request him the next time I hired KitchenMart. However, his workmanship did not live up to his boasting. He cursed and yelled each time he made a mistake (there was a lot of swearing). There were ugly seams in middle of the cabinet faces he cut, and wide gaps at the edges, which he assured would be covered with moulding and caulk. One day, he was so busy blustering rather than minding his work, he filed the front face of the panel. I finally requested a replacement. The project manager and assistant came the end of following week to repair the damage. The manager downplayed the defects ("it's really not that bad'), but his apprentice was frank and honest ("that first guy really messed things up"). One panel was removed and recut, while moulding and caulk was used liberally. Seams in the middle of the panels were nevertheless still visible. KitchenMart sent a third worker in mid-September to install the cabinet doors. He said he would return to install base shoe after the floor was tiled. On September 19, I called the project manager and left a message indicating my job was ready for completion. The project manager did not return my call until October 23. I asked why he waited so long to call back. In so many words, he said he was busy, I had to clean a big mess KitchenMart left before moving into the kitchen in September. My cupboards were in a total disarray as most of the shelves had been dismantled and the inside was littered with sawdust and other construction debris. My belongings stored in the garage were covered in sawdust. (KitchenMart workers were the only ones who insisted on cutting indoors). I picked up laminate materials that was strewn through out the garage. KitchenMart deserves not one but 2 stars. The first installer was unprofessional and produced subpar work. The subsequent workers did a good job of covering his mistakes with moulding and caulking. But I expected better quality work. The best word to describe KitchenMart is "complacent". They are a successful company that has been in business since 1976. This mantra has been drummed into their employees who spout it repeatedly like brainwashed zealots. KitchenMart has become so into themselves, that they take customers for granted. Their attitude seems to be, "You accommodate us, because we are so busy, that don't even need you." read more

We contracted with Kitchen Mart to reface our cabinets and cupboards, install new quartz counters, put in new backsplash tiles, replace sink and appliances, replace flooring with porcelain tile, remove old light box, and install LED pot lights, pendant lights, and new chandelier in the dining area of the kitchen. From our first meeting to the end of the completed project, we were pleased with every phase. They pay attention to details, and answered all our questions. They were patient and helpful when we wanted to make changes to the original plan. Each day, at the completion of work, they cleaned up very well...a pleasant surprise. Each crew that came out was friendly and efficient. When all was said and done, we were/are thrilled with the result. My boyfriend and I recently remodeled our kitchen and Kitchen Mart installed new Cambria countertops for us. We love our countertops but more importantly Kitchen Mart provided great service. We emailed a drawing of our countertops to Kitchen Mart, they provided a rough quote by email (depending on what type of material we chose). We then went to Bedrosians where my boyfriend fell in love with a particular type of "granite." We ordered the granite slabs and they were delivered to Kitchen Mart for fabrication. Tim called us and said their was a problem. The so-called granite, was in fact marble, which apprently is not ideal for kitchens because it is not very durable. We appreciated his honesty and concern. Kitchen Mart worked with Bedrosians so we could return the slabs for no additional charge. We ended up choosing a Cambria quartz product which we love. I got several estimates, read reviews, etc. I listened to my "gut" and went with Kitchen Mart. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive but I felt comfortable. From the estimate with John to Tim the project manager and all the crew that came with them...these guys were the best. Demo was precise and clean. I kept my cabinets so I was concerned about damaging them as they were taking off six inches of concrete counters. Not a problem! Counter install was perfect, trim, perfect, sink, plumbing, tile...everything and every man on this job was spot on. I have done several renovations to include a whole house and I can say that this was the easiest, most pleasurable experience I've had. I didn't have to yell at a single guy and that says a lot for me. I've seen some not stellar reviews for Kitchen Mart and I don't get it. Im picky, can be hard to please, and detail oriented. From the first contact to the last - Kitchen Mart knows something about customer relationships. You'll find an ever friendly face and voice when communicating at the counter, in your home, by email or over the phone. Although friendliness and customer service is their mainstay, KM also shines in the area of bringing drawings, permits and engineering all together - to make the experience seamless. They handle all these elements from start to finish. Our job did take a few weeks longer than anticipated - but given the right amount of customer involvement and a careful selection of materials, most all details were completed to our satisfaction. My wife and I decided to gut our 1948 bathroom and push into the adjacent bedroom slightly. Our new bathroom incorporates beautiful up to date materials coupled with high quality cabinets and construction. We now have a large shower with a bench, modern vanity top and sinks, updated tile flooring and best of all a "curbless" shower. (Something we recommend for any new shower.) We can now enjoy our new bathroom along with a beautiful texture of finishes and color. It was worth the dust ... They are short one star because although the final product is of high quality - it was in great part due to the customer's persistence in making sure that the construction detail was there. Sometimes the finish had to be adjusted to get it right and the dirt was definitely not attended as we were expecting. If you're willing to put in the time - to design, shop and personally engage in the overall construction experience - Kitchen Mart is an excellent choice. Additionally, the price being significantly high but not outside the norm - and considering the above attention the customer must be involved in - they lose one star. My family called for a kitchen remodel visit and estimate. Read wonderful things. Original appointment was timely and friendly. The estimate followed shortly. After that communication broke down. After requesting a payment schedule., it took 3 e-mails and 8 days before I finally got a payment schedule. They have a set schedule of 5 payments and should of taken 5 to 10 minutes to e-mail me. From beginning to end Kitchen Mart was great! It has been a few months now since we had the small remodel done and everything works perfectly! We have a small-ish kitchen in a 2 BR 1100 sq ft condo and we had already installed a new sink, granite counter-top and floors.By recommendation we went to Lowe's first, but neither Lowe's nor Home Depot would work with a pre-existing counter-top and it would have taken several months to get it done. After some research we spoke to KM. They came out very quickly, had some good ideas, we added our own and we placed the order. They are maybe ca 10-20% higher in price BUT they were able to reface the cabinets underneath the granite counter-top, custom make the upper cabinets, create a pull out drawer in the cabinet over the fridge (best thing ever!), redesigned pantry with pull out drawers and shelves, and added 5 additional cabinets over the window and hanging from the ceiling. Best part? They started on a Monday and were done by Friday!!! Everyone was professional and very friendly, clean-up was done every day, couldn't have been better! It was so very much worth the extra money and we are very happy customers!!! read more

I just had work done on my kitchen---new countertop, refacing of cabinets, and installation of new cabinets. Everything went smoothly and everyone I dealt with---from the time I moseyed in and dealt with the receptionist to the installers and everyone inbetween---was professional and skilled. My one qualm is that I was told I wouldn't need to empty the cabinets that were only going to be refaced, but then when the job foreman came in, he said I would have to because the sanding would cause a lot of stuff to settle on the contents. I had to quickly remove everything at the last minute. Aside from that, I had no other surprises. The kitchen looks great! read more

We wasted our valuable time making an appointment with the "estimator." She came to our house and proceeded to talk over us. When it came time to take measurements she acted as though she didn't want to do any work. She wanted know if we could "afford" her company before she did an actual estimate. She said she didn't need any "practice" doing estimates. Well she needs practice in sales. If she is a representation of Kitchenmart employees, I don't want to do any business with them. Their website says that they do "free in home estimates for new cabinets or cabinet refacing" yet when I called today to set up an estimate I was told that we have to take one of our existing cabinet doors into their showroom (so that they can see if they have our doors in stock) and that they don't send anyone out for estimates for small jobs like replacing cabinet doors. Kitchen Mart installed Corian counter tops for us several years ago. The work was competent. In fact, when it came time to do our bathroom, we contacted them for an estimate. When we had our counters installed, the plumber drilled holes in the Corian and they were not quite even, which was something we learned to live with. The work however, was good...no problems with the quality of the work. We did let the company know, however, that we were not crazy about the holes being a little off. So when the estimator came to look at our bathroom, she looked up our previous account and I don't think she was anxious to do business with us because of our letter. We had to repeatedly prod her for our estimate, and she only gave us an estimate for a slab of granite, not for the entire bathroom. Would I use them again? I don't know. You shouldn't have to prod the salesperson for an estimate. I can't criticize the quality of their work, however, except for the fact that the faucet holes were just a bit off. Everything has held up well though. Update: After having three contractors (all of them NARI by the way) not show up, we may go with Kitchen Mart again. This time, we had an estimator who seemed much better than the woman who just gave us an estimate for a slab of granite. This time, he gave us a comprehensive estimate. Will update if needed. Update: We used them again for our bathroom. If you didn't know the trouble we had with the workman (except for demo and tile, one guy does everything), you'd think the room was beautiful. But he put a hole in our wall, he insisted on putting his tools in our new bathtub and you can see silicone on our new bathtub faucet. He did fix the hole in our wall, but we have to paint it. He also was supposed to spot texture the spots he repaired, but he textured the whole bathroom. We were doing our own painting, and the supervisor, David said we could prime the bathroom after the demolition, which we did. By texturing the entire bathroom instead of just the spots he had to texture, it made it necessary for us to prime the bathroom again. On the plus side, the installer was really good centering things. After he was done, however, the new pipe under the vanity leaked. He came back and tried and tried to fix it. He couldn't. Finally, he said the pipe that was sent to us was defective. We called the company that sold us the faucet, and they sent out another pipe. We had our regular plumber install it. I'm not saying the Kitchen Mart installer was wrong, maybe the original pipe was defective. But by that time, we wanted our own plumber to install the new pipe. We just felt more confident in our own plumber. I also thought KM's tile installers were great...five stars for the tile installers. The project manager, however, never checked with us during the job. I still give the overall job three stars...and if you just walked into the bathroom, you'd think it was beautiful. If you do go with them, make sure you have a real understanding with the project manager that he WILL contact you during the job. For the money they charge, I thought we deserved some contact during the job from the project manager. Update: We are in the process of doing our other bathroom. I emailed the KM estimator who we used last time. He never replied to two emails I sent him. Either he does not want to deal with us, or for some reason he didn't get the message. I don't mind them not wanting to deal with us (we thought they were okay, but not wonderful), but I would have preferred a reply saying, "I don't think we'd be a good fit..or something." No answer is a disservice to us. On the other hand, maybe he didn't get our email, although I doubt that. In any event, unless we hear from him (it's been since before Christmas that I emailed him), I guess we won't use them this time. read more

We recently had Kitchen Mart update our master bathroom. Our project was completed on time and on schedule. I liked that the price for each element was clear in the contract instead of a global fuzzy figure for the job. One or two employees arrived at 8:30 each morning and worked like busy beavers until 3:30 pm each day. The best part was that every employee was friendly, courteous and helpful. I never felt hurried to make a decision, or pressured to spend more. When we made requests the answer was always "We can do that", and the final result is absolutely gorgeous. read more
