This is a black owned restaurant in town . My family member recommended this spot and raved about the food so I was eager to try them out. The space is dimly lite and spacious. Not too crowded around 2pm which was nice. I ordered the Hennessey waffle and chicken. I loved the Belgian waffle and the vanilla and Hennessey sauce that was on it with a few blue berries & strawberry slices . The chicken tender stripes were disappointing. They were too small and fried way too hard. I felt like my plate received the leftover from the other person's order of one chicken breast. My friends and I reserved a table at Kitchen Klassifieds for their Saturday Brunch Party. Our reservation was at 2pm and we were seated upon arrival. The restaurant is small, very small and we were seated right in front of the door. Saturday was one of the coldest day or the year, so we were struggling a bit until they decided to turn tip the heat. Our waiter, Rodney, was great. He was very attentive and friendly. The other staff members were nice as well, checking in on us to make sure everything was ok. Their friendliness certainly made up for the slow service from the kitchen staff. The brunch was BYOB, they just required you to purchase one drink on the menu. I had two of the Mother's Love cocktails and I chased it with tequila ! We also ordered the soul rolls and the Hennessy apple glazed wings for the table. The soul rolls were very good, the wings, however; were a bit too sweet and could have been cooked harder. For my main course, I had the Escovitch Snapper which came with a side of rice and I also ordered the greens. The escovitch was a bit too vinegary, but the fish was fried good. The greens were really good, the perfect balance of spice and sour from the vinegar. All and all, our experience was good. But as mentioned, the heat was an issue. Kind of hard to really enjoy yourself when you're freezing. Also, the time it took for our meals to be ready was a little lengthy. The customer service here was excellent. The atmosphere was a vibe. The energy of the was calm but lively at the same time.They had old school R&b playing and it just felt fun. We ordered honey old bay wings. They were fried perfectly and they tasted great. The blue cheese dressing wasn't for my taste buds; it was a little too sweet. The jerk chicken egg rolls came cut in half horizontally. They were good but when I added the jerk sauce that came with it was excellent. Really flavorful. My husband said the french toast was great! While I respect every restaurant is different, My review has two words... sugar and salt! I don't agree that the food is excellent. Canned vegetables seasoned with lots of salt. The collard greens had more stems than greens. The pork chops were heavily breaded, thick with flour. The strawberry lemonade was artificial flavoring with a ridiculous amount of sugar. The restaurant could really have potential if they would consider using fresh ingredients rather than processed foods. If you have any skills in the kitchen I don't recommend this restaurant, you will be disappointed with the food and the pricing a-la-cart, you pay for your sides separately. read more

Decided to stop by with friends, we were there as they unlocked the door . The place is very small, probably about 30 seats, if that. The server we had was very nice! It seems to be a family run business, there was a woman, two children and I believe her husband there when we arrived, the adults were back and forth in the kitchen while the kids were kids watched tv. Came here after hearing they were open and had to try them out. It was pushing 445 when I arrived and since they close at 5 I was hesitant about sitting inside so decided to order offer the phone. Ordering was quick and easy and when I arrived I was greeted and paid soon after. Other patrons where ordering as well and making conversation with owner and each other as I sat taking in the ambiance. I love the teal painted walls and black woman art displayed on them. The 12 table (24 capacity) cafe is quite dainty and I'm sure if I was here for brunch wild have a different vibe. I decided to try The District Fish Fry for $20 which consisted of deep-fried whiting and a choice of 2 sides. I went with the Southern Baked Mac and Cheese, and Cajun Fried Cabbage.  I also decided to try the Peach Bourbon Meatballs. My food came out hot well everything except for the cabbage which also has some kind of sausage in it along with peppers. Mac and cheese didn't seem like it was baked because I didn't have any crust on it and it was mostly a creamy consistency that you would find in a cheese sauce. I overheard the owner there's nothing how she sees her food and wasn't afraid of that. However, I couldn't taste much else besides salt. I quickly grabbed a drink to wash it down. Since the kitchen is visible from the dining area I observed there was no hair net being worn by the owner who was also preparing the food and the smell of grease drifted throughout. Her child was the maitre d and offered me to join in a game of uno and showed me a trick where he held the cards in his mouth which he picked up from the floor. He also kicked and chased cars and his shoes around entertaining himself as I waited for my food to be prepared while flapping on the floor from time to time and spinning change. So definitely family-friendly or at least at this time of day it was. There are some kinks that need to be ironed out and that's to be expected so I won't write them off just yet. My Dad & I wanted to try something new & we were happy to find this Soul Food spot in Glen Burnie. We already knew what we wanted after checking the menu & headed there to eat. We were heartbroken that they did not have the Fried Catfish or the Turkey Wings as advertised. The place was small & not too busy but only 1 waitress working so the service was very slow.. we waited a long time for our food but it came hot & fresh which immediately put us in "forgiving mode" everything was delicious! Went here for brunch on a Sunday. It is in your best interest to make a reservation. Upon entering we were greeted by the friendly staff. One downside is that the place is small on the inside and the low ceilings don't help with that. I ordered the Chicken and French Toast (because I love my French Toast lol). I have been here 3 times now. The food is delicious! All the food comes out hot and is photo worthy. I usually see one chef in the kitchen and the food is made/heated to order so it can be a bit of a wait. Quite disappointed by this experience. I was very excited to visit this spot for a Sunday birthday brunch and although we expected a crowd or wait we (part of 3) were able to be seated in their quaint dining room without any wait. We were provided heavily worn/handled paper menus (not hygienic) with incomplete menu items because later we realized there was a QR code with additional menu items. My mom ordered the seafood omelette with grits, which only mentioned crab on the paper menu. ~15 minutes after ordering we were informed they didn't have any crab meat at all and could only do the omelette with shrimp. Ultimately she was quite disappointed with the outcome of the omelette. The grits arrived several minutes after the omelette and were not cheese greys as stated in the menu but rather plain (unseasoned) grits with cheese sprinkled on top. Dish Grade D- I ordered the salmon entree which I was told upon ordering included 2 sides but after getting the bill was charged for the 2nd side (eggs) which arrived several minutes before the salmon plate so the eggs were cold. The Mac and cheese saved them! We all agreed It was the best tasting item of all! Dish Grade B- My sister the birthday girl ordered the chicken and waffles. She's a huge friend wings girl and didn't finish these and the waffle was soggy (they serve it with syrup on it). Dish Grade D+ After tasting the disappointing grits, my mom asked for a side of Mac and cheese to compensate for the missing crab meat in her omelette. The chef responded loud enough for the entire dining room to hear "that's not how it works". Extremely rude manager-Note: I ordered at 4:10 pm and was giving food at 4:40 pm take out. What happened: I was quoted 20 minutes for a takeout delivery. Other patrons that ordered and were seated after me already receive their food. While waiting outside for a text to come, I walked inside to see where the order was. The text came through saying it was ready and it was not ready. Asked the front attendant what happened to the order she said the system has been running slow and that the owner never received the order. I informed her that I have been waiting 30 minutes and had an appointment at 4:45. Would I be compensated for spending the amount of money that I paid but not getting the food in the amount of time they quoted. She asked the manager he asked her how much time she quoted 30 minutes when it was 20 and then gave me the five hand hold up to let me know to stop talking when I informed him it was 30 minutes. Regardless of the time, I still had to wait for food, and the food was not ready when they sent the text. Him being rude and no apology from anyone when I was providing him information was an additional slap in the "soul food" face. The food was decent. However the french toast is prepackaged and frozen. They are very unorganized and its way too small. The service wasnt bad but it isnt worth 18% at all. A lot of times the servers dont care since they know they are getting it anyway. They dont have alcohol either which is a turn off. They need to spread out reservations better or not take them at all. read more

‼‼‼‼‼‼Let's start with the overpriced food and small portions. I came in yesterday and ordered the chicken special with two sides. I got additional side, cabbage, mac & cheese, candy yams, honey cornbread collard greens. I wanted to taste everything. I was disappointed when I first seen the Sides. 20 minutes I waited received a text walked in only to be told that I had to wait another 10 minute for my chicken now the waitress and the owner or the Cook, I don't know seem like they had some personal relationship beef or something she asked him hey sir when is this guy chicken's gonna be ready he shrugged his shoulders right in front of me so I'm like OK then she like is it gonna be ready five or 10 minutes he shrugged his shoulders again and give us a funny look. I'm like damn are they dating so she said hey Sir it's gonna be another five or 10 minutes. I said OK no problem. Went back to my truck came back. Picked the chicken up got Home when I looked at the chicken. It looked like something out of the movies. It was a whole half a chicken leg, thigh and breast .All connected look like a big piece of greasy rock it was Hella greasy the inside wasn't cooked. I threw it in the air fryer for another 10 minutes and tried to eat it. I just couldn't do it. It was soaked in grease. The macaroni was terrible. The cornbread portion was about the size of a Kitcat bar and that was nine dollars. All the size were overpriced. I've guarantee you this He will not be in business too much longer with those expensive sides. Poor tasting food and terrible customer service. I would not be spending my money here ever again. The food was borderline innovative. The big problem is the service. A reservation here means you get the privilege of waiting for food for more than an hour while you sit (as opposed to while you're standing). They need to work on the overall management: how many tables, how fast they can prepare orders. They have lots of potential, but the severe wait times are not helping. read more
