I came here Tuesday for the (free) weekly "world tavern poker" games, first one at 6:30pm. It's a…read morefriendly fast-paced group of 3 or 4 tables of six to eight. I finished "in the points" this time! It's held in the hall that you get to through the small bar. You get to the bar through a door with the Canteen sign above it off the parking lot. It's a very low-key place, with some VFW memorabilia. As a non-member, I signed in by the door. The decor is old and homey. There's around a dozen seats at the small bar, but i dont recall if there were any tables. There are some kind of lottery or scratch-off ticket machines, and a tv. The bartender keeps things moving, and there's a simple menu, hot dogs, pizza, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and fingers, a philly cheese steak, fries, and more. The burger was hot and juicy, and i think it may have been microwaved. Tasted fine. The fries were pretty good and piping hot. The people all seemed friendly and relaxed. If your at all cool, you wont find much for you here, but if you're just a regular person, this seems like a nice place for a quiet drink and some regular food.

Find a good event space can be quite the feat, so maybe this review will help others make their decision. The venue is located on a busy street in Glen Burnie, not to far from the community college. There is limited parking available on the street in front of the venue, but there is also a free parking garage directly across the street. When you access the venue, you are standing in what would likely be consider a waiting area. A nice sized open space attached to what I would consider a bar, but I am sure he can be used for other purposes. For the party I attended, the open space was used for a photo booth and open bar. the perfect area for your guest to occupy if they main event space is not ready for them. The ballroom itself was indeed very grand! Large, wide-open with high ceiling, the perfect space for a birthday party or even a wedding reception. Very versatile. I did use the facilities while I was there and while they were small, they were clean. The entire venue, in fact; was clean. The few staff members I did encounter during my visit were nice, although the interactions were very brief. All and all, I was very impressed by my visit to The Grand Ballroom and will definitely recommend it to others in the future who are looking for a place to host their next event.

The auditorium was spacious and the a/v worked well. There were multiple break out rooms. There were snacks and coffee in a central location. There was plenty of space to mingle between sessions and plenty of parking in the lot. Lunch was included in the very reasonable conference price. The lunch room had a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the middle. There was a deli, grill, salad bar and hot bar. The servers kept a close eye on things and replaced items as they got low. This hotel is a complete scam. They state that they have a shuttle to take you to BWI. In fact, the…read moreshuttle only runs very limited hours including no shuttle noon-2pm, and none from 10pm-7am. If your fight is during those hours, you will be totally trapped because Ubers will not come and get you typically because it is such a short fare. Hotel makes VERY misleading representations about its shuttle services.

There are inside and outside spots for the ceremony and food. We had the service outside in a tent and then cocktail hour outside on the patio. Inside was dinner and dancing and it was a free spot.

The ceremony was beautifully decorated with a chandelier at the top of the tent. It's a great option if you're looking to get married outside but concerned about weather. For the women and elderly at least, you do have to watch your steps when going outside since it's a bit of a cobblestone path in heels or those with poor balance.
