I ordered multiple plates a la carte (Diri ak djon djon (Haitian Black Rice), Haitian Jerk Chicken, Mac n cheese, creole shrimp, plantain cups, etc, and all of my guests and I were in love! Sunday brunch was a hit or miss; and it looked like we missed it. When I see a Haitian brunch pop up on the news feed, I'm definitely going to look into it. Finding GOOD Haitian food in the DMV area as a Haitian is almost impossible. I was excited. I went with my family to experience the vibe (2nd session). This was not it. This business deceives its customers and operates without adhering to the operational standards established by the FDA. Get this: I am absolutely astounded by all the improper things this business did regarding my food catering order. One of the vegetables in my order--the string beans--was *not* crisp and green. The tips had changed color from green to brown. Some were dark. The texture was limp rather than firm. That means the beans were going bad. In other words, we were eating a meal in which some of the ingredients were not in their best condition. I now realize, beyond a doubt, that this business not only deceives customers in its food preparation but also puts their health at risk. How would you feel if something not in good condition were added to your food and served to you? Would you eat it? I wonder what other details in the meal I might have missed. It disappoints me I have to write such an underwhelming review on this establishment. I came for the Jan 1st Pop-up Event advertised on Instagram. I was excited to support and drove all the way from Alexandria, VA. I preordered my food online as instructed and arrived 30 minutes earlier. Parking was ample. When I walked it there was a decent sized crowded already waiting inside. Red flag #1: all the people inside were also waiting for their order. I stood in a line of about 10 people ahead of me, all with online preorders. Many people said they had been waiting for 1-2 hours for their food. RIDICULOUS. Well, I too become that person and ended up waiting 1.5 hours for my food. While waiting, I received no updates and no apologies on the delay. Please do not try and justify this by saying 'well this is how X culture establishments operate'. This is not a excuse or valid reason. I ordered in advance soup joumou and a rice bowl. I can't speak to the company's catering efforts but pop ups and one-one service is not a their point of strength right now. Perhaps this was a beta test to see how things would run but I can tell you as a customer it was a disaster. So I held off leaving a review for this place the last time I came here to give them another chance. They did a pop-up a couple of months back and it was a nightmare. I placed my order in advance for a specific pick up time and did not receive it till after about 3 hours. There were quite a few other people in the restaurant waiting for hours to get their orders as well. Some even got refunds, but I wanted to give it another chance today and went for the pop-up event for Haitian flag day. Once again, they were shortstaffed, and orders were taking forever to come out. Restaurant full of patrons, not enough staff. One girl on the register. I eventually got a refund because people that came in 45 minutes to an hour after I arrived, we're getting their orders. Staffed seemed extremely nonchalant when questioned about the hold up. One hour and a half is unacceptable to wait on an order. If there isn't enough staff, or just not enough food to accommodate everyone in a timely manner, just don't do it. Never again. And it's sad cause I've ordered from this business many times before they even had this brick and mortar restaurant. read more

My husband 60 Birthday was coming up and I wanted to catered for his party. I made an appointment with Chez Yiamme Catering and Functions. I went there and talk to Miriam, and we went over the menu I wanted. The party was on December 9th. All my guests were telling me that the food was delicious, they enjoyed it. They even took carry on to take some food home. The food was so good I did not have any left over.
