This post is for anyone that is looking for a contractor that they want to trust!…read more I think I figured it out. I want to tell you about our journey. So, just finishing up two bathrooms: our master bathroom and a second-floor hall bathroom, that share a wall. The hall bathroom is approximately 8x10 and the master bath is 10x10, 100-year-old Mt. Lebanon home. The Hall bath is original mud set. So, started the process two years ago and my wife and I struggled to find a contractor. Our primary goal was "peace of mind." We wanted to find someone that had vision, did quality work, and would give us options that would fit within a reasonable budget. And, honesty, after a while, all the contractors start to sound the same...."tell us what you want." And the prices were sometimes hard to fathom and while our initial goal was $60K for both bathrooms, we actually had bids in the $90-100K range. Crazy. After almost losing hope, I was introduced to Jeff through a friend that I could consider "exceptionally meticulous," lol, or picky! And the fact that this friend had nothing but positive things to say about Jeff meant a lot. Look at the pictures, they speak for themselves. What you need to know is that Jeff is onsite and a hands-on contractor. He also has a really great team. He is SUPER meticulous and thinks through obstacles as they arise. When you are opening 100-year-old walls, you sometimes come across surprises and obstacles. I was so impressed by Jeff's vision and how he would thing through these challenges. Further, he has a very strong "design" sense, as the project moved forward, he would bring up ideas to improve the beginning vision and they were always great. As an example, our walk-in closet shared a wall with our master bathroom and now we have a new second floor laundry room/walk in closet. It has changed our life! Jeff's estimate did not change aside from add-ons that made sense as the project progressed. His labor costs were mid-point to our bids and while we went over budget, it was our choice because of the materials we chose to use. And why am I posting all this, you might ask? I've been in sales my entire career, and it's my fundamental belief that when you identify true, trusted professionals, you help them. The last thing I will say about Jeff is that you can trust him. He cares about his reputation and wants to see his customers thrilled. He is responsible and will diligently work on your project until it is done. He gave us our "peace of mind." Please feel free to contact me at 412-849-5156 to discuss.

They care deeply about the quality of the countertops they produce. I picked up my two countertops, which were carefully wrapped to protect them in transport. I will be admiring/enjoying these countertops for years to come. If you want someone who cares about quality. If you want someone who takes great pride in their work. If you want a great price. These folks are very professional. I've been doing home and kitchen renovations for the last 13…read moreyears and they impressed me. I will definitely use them again. I've used practically every granite and stone company in the Pittsburgh area (depending where I'm doing a renovation). Seems to me that a vast majority of them are Chinese-owned and operated, and while I do have good relationships with all of the companies I use, I often tolerate things that I should not tolerate, such as bad workmanship, or mistakes, so long as it gets corrected. But the problem is, the mistakes I tolerate shouldn't be getting made to begin with if everyone involved was at the top of their game and more professional. I mean I've literally had companies bring the wrong countertop to my jobs and then expect me to talk my customer into keeping the wrong counter, after picking what they wanted. So what went well? First of all Laura speaks good English, and she was the face of Giant Stone, the first person I met when I walked in. Secondly their showroom is very well organized and it feels welcoming and clean. 3rd, they know their stuff. Laura knew everything about everything and answered every question I had. 4th, they're good Consultants. Laura walked me out into the shop and I had the liberty to look at everything available. 5th, they agreed to work with me on the price. 6th, I ordered something without seeing it against my cabinets and although I had a good inclination it might work, I had some reservations that it might not work. Laura gave me samples to put against the cabinets, and said if it didn't work that I could choose something different and they would still honor the discount. Turns out that's exactly what happened. Laura had no problem switching out the order to go with a different stone in the same price range and gave me the same discount. 7th, Laura cut me a special sample of something they didn't have a sample for. 8th, The installer men showed up on time at the job, and every aspect of the stone was pre-cut at the shop including little notch-outs for the cabinets and the walls. Most companies I've experienced do these types of cuts on site and it takes a lot more time and it makes a lot more mess. The quartz countertops were cut precisely, and they fit perfectly, and I was really impressed because the measurements were all done by hand. The measuring guy was very meticulous and very knowledgeable and he also spoke good English. In the end, I got exactly what I wanted and it looks spectacular. In a way, they exceeded my expectations because I almost expected less due to the subpar work that I've been accustomed to! Shame on me. But these guys are good, and they deliver on superior experience from A to Z!

My husband and I have now remodeled two kitchens in two different homes, and hopefully we're done!…read moreSince my husband is handy and has done this type of work in the past, we planned on doing all of the work ourselves, with some help from my dad and brother in law. With the first kitchen, we went through Home Depot, because they had an insane special going on. That was not the case this time around (last summer, so this review is way overdue), and we found ourselves at Cluss, a place we had previously purchased some things for smaller projects (gutters, siding). This time, we worked with a guy named Joel who was very knowledgeable and took the time to sit and design the new kitchen with us, despite the multiple phone calls and other interruptions he was receiving. We ordered our Kraftmaid cabinets and we were satisfied with the price. The cabinets were delivered in the estimated time, although we did have a difficult time scheduling an appointment that worked for us, since we both work and I was oh, about 5 months pregnant at this time. When my husband and brother in law installed the cabinets, we did notice some issues. The Kraftmaid cabinets we ordered had a rustic "look" meaning that there were knots and other 'imperfections' that were both authentic and some man made to give it that rustic look (I'm sure there are some more technical terms for that that I don't know). Anyway, we did notice one drawer that had a big splinter in it at the top which we knew would be an issue. Also, a cabinet door and the big pantry door were about four shades lighter than the rest of the cabinets...they looked like they were from a separate run. And the pantry door really stood out because it was the biggest piece in the kitchen. Also, we had asked for a corner cabinet with a lazy susan, but it was just a plain corner cabinet. However, after determining that it actually had more room this way AND that we did not get charged for the lazy susan, we decided to keep it. The other issues, I addressed with Joel via email and he came out that Monday to look at the cabinets. He agreed that they needed to be replaced, and we received the replacement pieces via UPS within a week or so. We kept the old pieces and the H said he would make a spice rack or small herb garden for the kitchen...but it's been a year and I'm not holding my breath... The biggest con would be their hours. Since Cluss caters to contractors, they do not have great evening and weekend hours, like a Home Depot or Lowe's would. Overall, we had a good experience. The issues that we had were resolved quickly and easily. We felt that we got a good deal and would recommend Cluss if you were remodeling your kitchen.
