There was quite a bit of paperwork to complete upon arrival. The link provided ahead of time to complete the paperwork did not work, which in hindsight should have been a sign to go elsewhere. The clinic is connected with a dental office in the same facility, which I found a bit unusual. The receptionist handled check-in, insurance, and the eye pre-exam, which felt like a lot for one person. Once I was seated for the eye exam, I was informed that due to a pre-existing medical condition, the financial portion would need to be submitted through my medical insurance rather than my vision insurance. This was confusing, especially since I had already gone through the medical insurance process just two weeks prior. The explanation provided did not make sense. Overall, the visit started off smoothly but became confusing and frustrating when it came to paperwork, insurance, and billing.

Once there I was told I had a detached retina and I needed surgery done that day or the next morning. He accused me of ignoring my eye health and scared me into thinking it could get worse by the minute. I am a schoolteacher and had only taken the morning off for the appointment and had to go back to work. My husband was also out of town, and I had no one else to drive me to surgery or help with my kids. When I told him I needed to talk to my husband and call to schedule, he had me sign a refusal of treatment paper. Once I tried calling back to schedule, it was very hard to get a return call. I had a scheduling person call while I was teaching and tell me I had to be at the hospital for pre-surgery appointment that same afternoon. Teaching school does not work like that. She also was scheduling me for surgery at a hospital not on my insurance. When they did call back it was with misinformation and not helpful with securing a date. I finally scheduled one, but I was scared it was getting worse and went to the ER because my eyesight felt like it was lessening. When the ER doctor contacted Dr Membreno's office, he said I was not his patient- he had terminated my care. What??? So unprofessional. The ER Dr. referred me to another retina specialist and said though I need surgery, it wasn't an emergency situation where it had to be done that day or week. I did have successful surgery with a different practice.

Having 20/20 vision my whole life, my eyes have been sensitive and feeling a little off lately. Dr. Ho was able to schedule me in the same day, after knowing about my situation. Turns out my eyes are dry so he gave me some eye drops to treat it. He also explained to me how to prevent my problem. Dr. Ho is professional and made my first experience a good one. The drive to this side of town was well worth and the office is very clean and sanitary. Surely a comfortable first visit, as everyone in the office is professional and prompt. Highly recommend this eye office for anyone who needs to keep their eyes in check!

The lady was so nice, her name is Miss Cohen she is one of the optometrist here at the eye place. I had my eyes checked and my eyes actually went from an eight to a six; which I guess is an improvement from my current standards. I picked out three pairs of glasses. One for work, one for play, and a new pair of sunglasses. I've never heard of the Costa brand of sunglasses - what I really liked is one of the male eye employees told me that the nose pads get sticky when you sweat so they don't slip off your face which I loved because I work outside currently. I honestly can't wait till I have my next eye exam in a year everyone was so nice and if you're around the area or you live in the area and you're looking for a new optometrist I definitely recommend the eye place! 10/10

I have had a hard time finding the right office for me, and this is it! The office is fun, quirky, unique and clean. The glasses offerings are small producers and artists - like nothing you can get elsewhere. I was so tired of paying obscene amounts of money way for something like everyone else has. Now, I can show my personality and receive lots of compliments! Dr. Hanley took ample time with me, and I even came in for further adjustments to perfect my prescription. We solved the mystery of why I was having such a hard time with lights (even with an astigmatism correction). She is so kind, calm and patient. This is the personalized and concierge experience I was looking for. Everything is personalized - from the time to walk in the door to when you leave. From the music to little special perks when you pick up your glasses and everything in between, including a relaxation room! They have thought of everything. Over the past several months, I have had to return multiple times because the prescriptions provided were not correct. Each time I was asked to come back to try new lenses to see if they worked better. I trusted the process and continued returning as requested by the office. During one of my visits, I was informed that the fee I had already paid for both the glasses and contact lens prescriptions had an expiration date. This was surprising and disappointing, especially since the repeated visits were due to the office not being able to determine the correct prescription in the first place. At my most recent visit, I was told that the new lenses I needed to try would no longer be covered because too much time had passed since the initial appointment and payment. This does not seem fair, considering the delay was caused by the inability to get my prescription right, not by anything on my part. To make matters more confusing, I am now being referred to a specialist. After months of appointments and additional inconvenience, I feel that the situation has been poorly handled and that patients should not be penalized for extended timelines when the issue originates with the prescription process itself. I hope the office reviews how situations like this are managed so future patients do not experience the same frustration.
