One year I called December 1 hoping to get in by 12/31 so I didn't blow that year's vision benefit, and couldn't get in, so I paid all year to VSP and couldn't use it that calendar year, it is like taking money and lighting a match under it, so book early, and my glasses came in in about two weeks, I believe they send it out to a VSP lab because of my vision insurance, so again just know it is not like those one hour places, but you will get great service, kind service and a beautiful office in peaceful Celebration, FL! Celebration Eye Care Center is genuinely trying to rip people off for their own financial gain. Here I am thinking I am supporting a small business instead of going to a corporate optometrist and this was such a mistake! 1. They do not value your time. You can show up early and you will still wait 30-45 minutes. Dr. Grand (the older doctor, this place is ran by the grandmother and her granddaughter who is also an optometrist) seemed like a nice enough woman until she took over an hour to do a simple exam/contact lens fitting and then didn't tell me that I'd have to come back again in two week to see her to get my prescription. They won't give it to me until I come back. Okay fine, I guess I will take another day off of work to come in and have my eyes looked at for 2 seconds not like my time is valued to them anyway... 2. They use scare tactics and purposely do not tell people their rights. I looked up my rights, but have never had to do this before with any other eye place because I never have felt like someone took advantage of me. BY LAW IN FLORIDA your contact lens prescription is valid AT LEAST two years. And for glasses FIVE YEARS. They purposely attempt to write it for shorter so you have to come back more often. 3. Mind you, I've been wearing 2-week contacts for over 15 years, they switched me to a one a day contact (same brand) and refuse to give me my prescription until I come back and have them "checked." I went back to get them "checked" and she asked me how they were and then handed me the prescription. Didn't even bother to look at my eyes. At the end when I went to checkout, they were angry I wouldn't buy my contacts there. I had to ask for all my prescriptions and since then have been trying to order contacts myself from 1800 contacts, but they won't approve the order saying my prescription is valid. So I'm currently dealing with going back and forth with 1800-contacts proving to them I have a valid prescription on paper, but can't get their office to respond. They simply want to waste your time and charge you more money, all while selling you "oh we are a small family run business!!" Family ran businesses should take care of their patients and not nickel & dime you. They should not be shady and do things that are unethical. I will be reporting this business to the FTC. Super disappointing- I do NOT recommend going to see anyone in the "Grand Family" unless you want your time wasted and to be overcharged.

When she arrived, she was told they actually do not accept her insurance. This could have been verified before the appointment and would have saved us a wasted trip and time off our day. To make matters worse, this is an AdventHealth location, but we were also informed that they do not participate in AdventHealth Financial Assistance, which was another surprise that wasn't communicated beforehand. Mistakes happen, but confirming insurance coverage is one of the most basic parts of scheduling a medical appointment. We relied on the information we were given, only to find out it was incorrect after arriving. I hope the office improves its verification process so other patients don't have the same experience.

We moved to SC in 2020 but have continued to travel to Florida for my regular yearly eye check-ups with Dr Hanzlik. Now it's time for cataract surgery in my other eye and it's a very easy decision. It also isn't too difficult to get a same week time to come in. But, be prepared to be here for at least 2 hours. Each visit they have an empty pre-waiting room and a packed secondary waiting area. Everytime I have checked in, I am warned, "sorry, it's a really, really long wait today." At this point the long wait is average. So just expect to be there for a while.

Now it's three weeks later and I called them an hour ago. I was told to hold while they checked whether they arrived. 20 minutes on hold later my call is routed to a machine that says they are now closed. It is Noon! Then it forwarded me to a voicemail, and then it said I couldn't leave a voicemail because the voicemails are full. Who is in charge and running this place? I've called back and am still on hold for over 30 minutes. I should have taken note of the bad service; all I needed was my contact prescription. I had a moderate wait to get called back, but reasonable for a doctor type scenario. One area I really appreciate: America's Best is very transparent on pricing. They let you know the prices in big bold letters so you don't feel like you got rug pulled on price. I was told before any exam what the pricing was and what to expect. That level of transparency make it easy for "me to see" and know what to expect to pay and do. Going back in 2 weeks for a contact examination.
