When you get there, you see people on their personal cell phones. Am a long-time patient, but when calling to get a sick visit on Friday morning, you get told 'we are closing at noon', and our urgent care is not open Friday's. They are open Saturdays. I got advised to go to an urgent care in the area. Forget about getting timely care from your provider even when you are a longtime patient when you have an emergency.

I was taken as an emergency, I was welcomed by a very pleasant woman who made the new patient process so pleasant. They identified the issue, got medication to pharmacy within 15 minutes and i was on my may. I have been back several times and always the same positive experience. She always has the warmest smile, and her attire is quite dapper. I wish she was my PCP. My complaint is about ob/gyn. I had an appointment to get an iud. When I walked to the back, there was a slew of women having a pow wow, and as I passed, I heard, 'It's for her.' Ok. It WAS for me, but they made it seem like it was a new procedure, and I was a test patient. No problem. Let's just get 'er done. Undressed and waiting about 20 mins just to have a nurse come tell me that the midwife didn't want to proceed, no other explanation than that. I left. I then made an appointment at PPH and got it done. I went today, for a breast exam. I was early, got called to the back on time, did the little things with a med tech, who asked me what my issue was. I told her that my reason for being there was on the screen in front of her. She reads it, and then says what the issue was. I then said, 'Ok, well, that's the issue. That's why I'm here.' She tells me the midwife would be in shortly and I needed to undress from the waist up. 40 mins later, I'm still waiting. At minute 41, I just got dressed and left. Is it intentional, that my visits to their ob/gyn never go as planned, or was the med tech mad because of my comment? When I left, I didn't see my chart in the place it should be near the exam room. So, maybe she was a little salty, and decided to make me wait. She was so unimportant that I don't even recall her name, and I never forget a name. Needless to say, I won't be returning to the ob/gyn at ghv family health center. Ob/gyn gets no stars. In my opinion, from my experiences, they need a real ob/gyn, or two. Let the widwife be optional, for those who choose to see her. She clearly gets overbooked, and cannot keep up pace. I had other things I needed to do today, and waiting nearly an hour for a breast exam...then again, there's no telling how much longer I would've been waiting. But keep up the wonderful work, Urgent Care!

A slight sniffle will get you a vaccine, so just remember that if you are not ok with taking meds just because, you have a firm "NO!" There are always new nurses when I go. Perhaps it's the doctors demeanor and attitude that has them all leaving. Office is always cold and expect to wait at least an hour from your scheduled appointment. I think they take on more than they can handle. The waiting room is very depressing. It has stained carpets, dead plants and an old plug in heater that I'm sure I saw at my grandmothers house growing up. Now that I think about it, I may just change DR. Geez...
