I just finished devouring the most yummilicious maple-mustard glazed salmon (DM me for recipe) made from fish I picked up this morning from Kish Fish on Bow Street across from my office.
So fresh it's flopping, the quality of the fish is excellent, although the selection is limited based on what's coming in fresh. There is also a small selection of frozen and smoked product available, and I saw that packages of peeled and deveined shrimp were in plentiful supply, a product I've had a hard time sourcing in Dublin.
It's a wholesale in the back, retail in the front kind of operation, so don't expect posh premises. But walk in, smell the wonderful briny aroma of fresh seafood, and you'll know you're in good hands. Prices were better than what I've seen at supermarkets, and so far, the quality has been better as well.
I think the fact that there were two grannies there haranguing the patient fishmongers about which piece of which fish was the freshest and the best value gives it a stamp of old skool approval, too.
Bottom Line: on a SCALE of 1-8, it's a sevFIN (see what I did there??) read more
