We have been going to Kirk's for many years. Yes usually really good that's why we go back and each time spending over $50-100 each time. Well unfortunately today will be our last day ever stepping foot inside. After paying 90.00 today we forgot to purchase the stone crab hammer and we only had a credit card and they would not let me purchase it because it was under $10.00 and I didn't understand that they wouldn't let me buy it because of their minimal fee they told me to never come back. Keep in mind I spent 80 dollars yesterday and 90 dollars there today. I am very sad about this and the way I was treated, they treated me like I was dirt. I spend hundreds of dollars at Kirk's every year and bring many friends and family here. I can no longer come back to this place ,what a horrible way to run a business. They need to learn how to run a business where they appreciate and value good customers . Honestly they could have handled this in many different ways yet they chose to destroy one of their most loyal and repeated customers . ALSO SHRIMP CUSTOMERS BEWARE ON HOW THEY WEIGH THEM . But they have a LOT of wonderful & fresh seafood options that we would love to try! But their stone crab is the BEST, always fresh and always stocked. They also do the cracking for you so that you can skip the hard work and get to eating! Their service and product is top notch - hard to find these days! This place is top notch. When we come to visit my wife's parents, I am always hoping for some fresh stone crab claws for dinner. We stopped in early and got several pounds of these delightful claws during a recent visit. According to my "in the know" in-laws, this is THE place to get fresh claws in season. The folks inside were super helpful and efficient and moved people through quickly. It is a pretty small place so can get busy. It's not a bad idea to call ahead and reserve some claws during the busy season as the supply is limited. They also sell fresh fish and crab cakes (which we ended up buying also for lunch). Everything is strictly carry-out. Our meal that evening back at the condo was one of the best we had during our most recent visit to Marco Island with the fresh stone crab, a salad and some french bread - makes my mouth water just thinking about it! read more

Four visits in four days. We hit the jackpot with Kirk Fish Company. It is stone crab season and I live for that, even though we live in Northern VA. Our vacation in Marco Island was heaven; it was made perfect by our daily visits to this shining star. Why did it stand out? -Incredibly fresh and multiple size offerings of stone crabs -very helpful and friendly team -the place does NOT SMELL LIKE FISH. I know that is a weird statement but this place is so fresh and a "fishy" smell is the worst. They run a very clean operation. -Excellent gulf shrimp and cocktail sauce. -Outstanding stone crab sauce. We took 3 pounds back home on the plane to Virginia and used our Kirk Fish Company mallet. My only wish: That there was an allowance given to customers for not having them crack the stone crab claws. We prefer to crack our own and realize they crack the claws; it is included in the overall cost. Just a thought. read more

We got some excellent shrimp and grouper here. The shrimp was extra large and three pounds fed six people and was some of the best ever. The grouper was some of the best fish ever.
