I was a long-time customer of Friendly Grove and trusted them with my dogs for years…read more Unfortunately, that trust was broken after a grooming appointment where one of my doodles came back unable to walk. My husband had to physically carry him out of the vehicle. When I contacted the business, I spoke with Maddy at the front desk, who reassured me that my dog had not sustained an injury while in their care. However, I was not present and was never shown any video footage or documentation to support that claim, which left me with serious concerns about what actually happened. Months later, I received a brief email asking me to update my information in their portal. I responded honestly and shared how unsettled I still felt about the previous incident. Shortly after, a staff member called and said they would be happy to schedule grooming appointments for my dogs since they hadn't been in for a while. However, when I arrived to pick them up, I was told that my dogs were not actually scheduled for grooming but that they "accommodated them anyway." I was then informed that Friendly Grove would no longer be grooming dogs at all. The entire interaction felt incredibly confusing and dismissive, and it came across as though they were simply trying to push us out as customers. They offered a $120 credit for that service and essentially told us to find another groomer. My dogs had been going there for years, and $120 doesn't even cover the cost of a single grooming service. After years of loyalty, the lack of transparency, accountability, and communication was extremely disappointing. I expected far better treatment from a place we trusted with our pets for so long.

We tried a couple other local kennels before Sylvan, so we have comparison experience…read more No kennels come close to Sylvan. My dog doesn't have the best manners - but they see him for the big love that he is. They smile as big as he does when they see each other. They remember tiny details about his silly personality quirks. (Usually just seeing him once a year for a few days) They care for all of his needs and bring him so much joy. The first time they even texted details about his day to help us feel more comfortable leaving him at a new place. Every time he comes home from Sylvan, we can tell he misses all the friends he made at the kennel - human and other dog friends. Honestly, we would never consider taking him anywhere else at this point. Pro tip - the grooming and nail trimming service is worth every penny - and such a reasonable cost.

While they didn't have what I needed that day, I could tell right away it was the kind of place I'd want to come back to. A few months later, we adopted what we think is a 1-2-year-old Dutch Shepherd/Black Lab mix, full of energy, obsessed with playing hard, and absolutely living for rolling in grass and dirt. Since she sleeps in our bed, keeping her clean is a must! That's when I discovered their amazing self-wash room and grooming services. Now we come in every other week for a nail trim and a good bath. She walks in like the Queen of the Swamp and struts out Queen of the Throw Pillows, smelling fresh, lookin' flawless, and ready to reclaim her spot on the bed. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and you can tell they truly care. Highly recommend Animality for any pet parent looking for great service and a welcoming local vibe.

When I came to pick them up she asked me if I wanted her to bring them to the front. I said yes, but to bring them one at a time since my bitch was in heat. Next thing I see is she is coming out with both dogs. I grabbed one of the dogs and said "No. She is in heat." The groomer responded with "I did not know that". It's one thing to make a mistake but another to lie about it. Additionally, I wrote a letter describing this situation to the owner, Vicki. The manager replied with an email. To it she attached video footage of the event. In this email she attempted to explain why the groomer came out with both dogs together. I had several people read this email to see if they could understand the explanation it. They could not. In this email the manager also tried to rephrase the groomer's statement as"'I didn't know you didn't want me to walk them together because we had just talked about that in the grooming office." It's a good thing they had the video footage because it clearly shows the groomer saying "I did not know that" in response to me saying "No. she is in heat" when she brought them out together. Again I had several people read the email. They couldn't understand it either. The email did not contain one word of apology, which would have gone a long way. I just got an email saying that they had cancelled my future boarding appointments...petty.

I have been taking my dog to various groomers for the past 11 years so I know how Long it typically takes for an appointment. They scheduled her at noon, which I thought was strange because typically it's a 9am drop off and pick up at 330pm. This place had her done at 230. 2.5 hours to groom a pure white giant fluff ball. I specifically stated on the phone, are you sure she is dry because she will stink if not fully dry, as she has an undercoat. They assured me she was almost dry and still in the dryer. This place was also an hour and 20 minutes round trip to get to, so we spent 2hr 40 to drop her off and pick her up today total. I even waited an additional 2 hours to pick her up after the phone call because I was worried she would still be wet, and sure enough, when I saw her I noticed her fur looked wet in multiple places. When I touched her, her neck was wet, her Jing legs were wet, her entire underbelly was wet, I instantly told them she is still wet. The man who worked there took her back to blow dry her further for about 5 minutes tops the brought her back out and said she is pretty done with the dryer, here you go and gave me my half wet dog. I came home, and spent another hour drying her off myself and not to mention hair flying everywhere after they charged me extra for deshedding. Honestly so disappointed and irritated that they did not care enough to do their job properly. It cost 70$ and I tipped 25$ so to have to come home and blow dry her further and brush her also for an additional hour was extremely unreasonable. I will not be taking her back here.
