It's the bandstand in Cannes that was built by the city's architect, Louis Hourlier in 1880. There were orchestral performances under this carousel shaped stage during that time period. It's appears to be mainly used today as a decorative landmark for festivals, markets, and other events.
It's very impressive looking as you walk up to it. It provides a lot of shade in the summer months. It's beautifully landscaped as well with seasonal flowering plants & shrubs. I can see why people gather here for events. It's in the center of everything. read more
