This place is amazing. It has the most amazing and beautiful views of Nice. If you happen to visit Nice, I highly recommend visiting this locations I recommend wearing comfortable shoes, since there are a lot of stairs and going up and down. If you're into instagram, snap chat and TikTok this location is for you. The waterfall in this place is out of world. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. Also, this location has the most gorgeous views of Nice. I highly recommend adding this chateau to your itinerary. It is a spot that you don't want to miss. read more

Beautiful views of Nice, gorgeous views of the ocean and buildings down below. We learned the hard way that there was an elevator we can take (we had an umbrella stroller with a baby in it) so we climbed the stairs and held onto her stroller at the same time, going up and down the stairs. Then we learned once we got to the bottom, that there's an elevator!!! Oh well, next time. I'll be back here next month so if we have a chance to stop in again, we'll remember to use the elevator this time around. Come here when the sun is setting, we went earlier in the day and it was pretty hot, even though it was foggy. Just be careful not to stay too late, they close the gates on you without checking. read more

Amazing views in the heart of Nice and this is where you can get away from the noise and people that populate the tourist trap that is downtown. Downtown is basically a bunch of high end stores, but this location gets you away from it all. It's a bit of a walk, but worth every step. The views at the different levels are fantastic, and the waterfall was very refreshing and calming to watch. Get away from it all and enjoy this place. It's truly a majestic spot in the French Rivera . read more

This was a beautiful spot! Would highly recommend anyone who stops by Nice to come for amazing views! There are multiple paths - some with stairs and others that you can drive up. Personally went up the stairs for a bit of a workout and also a very quiet but scenic route ++if you have kiddos there's a playground for them to run around and play in! ++if you're into history there's a lot of signs posted around the place that tell you about the history of the fortress and how it was built then rebuilt centuries later +++panorma spot - literally labeled panorama, but just follow signs to go up. The view of the ocean and the red brick roofs...too beautiful!!! +++magical "waterfall" (labeled cascade) that starts and stops kind of randomly but is absolutely beautiful when it goes!! read more

Well worth the hike to the top, this was one of my favorite parts of my recent trip to France. The views of the coast and city are spectacular. The park at the top has a lot of playgrounds for kids too. If you stay up there too late, they will close the gates and lock you in so be careful to watch the time. I had to wander the park for a long time before I eventually found a way out that was unlocked. read more

Worth the hike/walk to soak in all the views and beauty! There is also a free elevator if needed, so no excuses not to check this place out! There is a park at the very top, which is the least interesting part - mainly a very mediocre looking cafe and a bunch of kids playing. Highly recommend you climb the stairs if you can, its not that bad if your in decent shape (enjoy and take your time) or take the elevator up the hill to see the gorgeous view across Nice and walk around as the view is breathtaking. We saw several runners taking this path too. Great place for pics! Tip: It closes before dark so be well aware depending on the time of year you wont see the sunset from up here but its still just s beautiful from the bottom of the hill right on the water. read more

A leisurely step back in history, this spot is the origin of all Nice. After exploring Old Nice, follow the Promenade des Anglais along to the Hotel Suisse and locate the nearby 213 stairs that lead up to "Castle Hill" , or Le Colline du Chateau. Ascend to the serene sound of the waterfall, and you'll eventually reach the second best view of the Baie de Anges (reserving Fort Du Alban for my personal favorite. Be sure to take a breather at the circular Observatory platform located atop the Naval Museum. Once you've reached the very top of the stairs, you'll find the ruins of Nikaia, a 3rd Century BC trading post for the Celtic Ligurians. Eventually, the Romans conquered it and developed a medieval town with the central Cathedral of Saint Marie. Now, you'll find a playground, the historic ruins, beautiful stone mosaics, and premier picnic spots, or grab a snack on the fly from the small cafe and take in the scenes from one of the many benches. read more

Terrific little walk. Beautiful stone steps. The stones were beautifully arranged. There's also one point where there's a waterfall. The small park is full of tight ropers as well. This seems to be the sport of choice for the French! I had nice jog around the park and the view is stunning with luscious greens all around. The water and red roofed village is stunning from the park. This is a must do if you're in Nice. read more

Great views! It's a great place to watch sunset and in general to get a great view of the water as well as the city. There are stairs to climb up, but it's not too bad. There is also an elevator that you can choose to take if you want. Highly recommend! It's right next to the promenade, and the views are awesome. read more

A must see in Nice! There were not as many stairs as I was anticipating, and the "hike" up was extremely easy. If you do not have mobility difficulties, the stairs should be relatively easy. We went on a sunny day with clear skies, which made the sea a bright blue! read more

This is super easy to get to and to climb up there is a free elevator! Which is awesome because I was super dead when I decided to find this place, at the end of the day, and you just walk around and there are ruins, apparently two, I only saw one. There is this beautiful waterfall and boy did it feel marvelous while in the heat and walking around. Oh and let us not forget about the views! You see all of Nice and the water is so blue, and it looks so much more slower and peaceful from above. There are restaurants, I was shocked, and did not look at the prices, but I had eaten lunch before anyways, and there are play structures and greens, there was a kid camp there, and you can bring your dogs here. Find some shade and bring a book and relax! A must since it is all free and you can get wet and enjoy the great views and see where and how far you walked! read more

It's about 400 stairs to the top, but it was worth every step. You don't even need to make it all the way to the top to take in the sweeping panoramic views of Nice and the Sea. Along the way it is beautifully landscaped with various trees and lovely flowers. The waterfall at the top is the cherry on top! read more

Who the hell would give this less than 5 stars?! Incredible view of Nice, and it's free. It's a slight hike, nothing impossible. My wife and I really enjoyed this area and the view. You really get a panoramic view of the coast and the harbor area of Nice. Great pictures! read more
