This independent coffee roastery and wholesaler's was a pleasant surprise! They're located on the main drag of Embro, Ontario - entrance from the back of the building and not through the salon at the front - and we found them purely by accident when we were camping near there, heading towards Woodstock, Ontario.
Kintore's bricks and mortar store opened only in January, when lo-and-behold, COVID19 hit, and they had to close! It was very nice inside, inviting. The staff (owner?) was knowledgeable and friendly, and knows most of his customers. They offer brewed coffee in mild, medium, and strong, and they offer whole beans by the pound. Behind the cash, there's an area where they roast the beans if you happen to catch them doing so; we did not.
There's a section in front of the cash, near the back of the shop and restaurant (where there would normally be seating and tables) with shelving displaying work by local artists and a jeweler. They also sell coffee travel mugs, hats, and tee-shirts with their logo on them.
I would definitely go back, when ever I might find myself back in their neighbourhood. I recommend a visit. read more
