STAY AWAY FROM KINN REAL ESTATE IF YOU DON"T WANT BAD SERVICE!!!
This is a company after one thing, and that is profit. I found Aaron Kinn of Kinn Real Estate on a website called TopAgentsRanked.com because I was moving from Hawaii to Fort Worth, TX and I didn't know anyone in the area or anything about the neighborhoods and communities in the area. I contacted him and spoke to him on the phone several times about our expectations for our new home and that we were planning on purchasing new construction. We scheduled to meet when I arrived from Hawaii, but the day before that appointment he canceled and assigned a colleague of his named Mike Hedtke that Aaron stated was very experienced and would provide great service in his place. Mike did anything but provide great service.
For those of you who don't know, sometimes Realtors offer credits from their part of the commission, in particular when you purchase a new construction home from a builder because it requires substantially reduced workload for them. Mike called us and we met with him on a Sunday and visited 4 builders and 1 owned home that day and the last builder that day had a inventory home, brand new ready to move in. We ended up purchasing this home and closing about a month in a half later. Mike's total amount of work with our account consisted of the 1 day of showing us builders and a second day of picking up the key to the home we bought and meeting us at the house to view it a 2nd time. If you factor in commute, time on the phone calling the builders and home owner and perhaps paperwork processing, the total work hours may have added up to 20hrs. We felt that because the effort necessary for our account was minimal, that perhaps he would be willing to offer a credit of 1% of the commission as a good-faith jester for giving him the account, mind you most good agents would offer this themselves without prompting from their client. Instead, I politely asked if he would be willing to provide the credit in an email, text and phone message (in that order) and each one went unanswered. It was over two weeks and several phone calls and emails before I got any response pertaining to the credit question and it took me emailing Aaron to get that from Mike. He stated that I had miscalculated how much work was necessary for our account (no I did not) and that if I wanted discounted Effort that I should have told him first and we could have negotiated it. I didn't know that effort was relative to moneys paid, but for this company, I guess so. Mike completely ignored me for the better part of 3 weeks and when I tried to reach Aaron Kinn about it to get his take on assigning a very poor agent to my account, I got no reply from my voicemail from him either.
Bottom line, this company has horrible customer service and piss poor communication etiquette. The one thing that a Realtor has to do is communicate with their client and these guys chose not to. I only posed a question about a possible credit that is completely at the discretion of the Realtor and very common in their industry and all this guy had to do was reply and say that he was not going to do it in a courteous manner and we would have been fine with it. They finally decided to give us a $500 credit ($1300 less than the 1% we were asking about) and an FU to boot about the topic and they will no longer return my messages or calls. It was never really about the money, more about the understanding that you were getting nearly $5400 for maybe 20hrs of work and you were going to be ok with that? I could have easily met with the builders myself after that first day and said thanks for the tour and left you off the closing contract, but no, how they said thanks for basically free money (works out to about $270 per hour) they wouldn't so much as offer to buy they microwave for us. (Another thing realtors do on a regular basis.)
This company is piss poor at best and horrible at worst. If you aren't doing what they want you to do or you have a question that is not to their liking, they we just ignore you until you go away. read more
