Lets just say my experience was drastic.
My feelings are so repressed that I don't even want to look at my hair anymore.
Anywho, this is what went down...
So Kinh Do, the owner of the hair salon, gave me a cut for my hair.
My hair is pretty damaged and I hadn't a cut for almost seven months now. I initially wanted to go to California Hair Salon in Bixby Knolls, but the last time I had went, it was booked up. I gave Kinh Do a try A LONG WHILE AGO and actually ended up being satisfied with my haircut. He was very attentive to details and made sure my hair was even.
Fast forward to today....
I asked for a trim on my layers, a v-shape for my hair, bottom layer to be cut 1 inch, 2 inches off of my bangs, an bangs to be cut to the left. .
This is what I got...
BUT WAIT!!!!!!
Prior to touching my hair, the man was eating food and then went to wipe it off with a towel. He proceeded to start cutting my hair. (Note: My hair is very thick and he didn't use enough conditioner, so it was difficult for him to cut the whole entire time.)
(Me inside: Okay cool......I'll let this slide.)
He used a razor, instead of thinning scissors to thin out my hair because apparently to him this is the correct method. Also, he was alternating back and forth to my hair and watching his soap opera drama. WHAAAAT???????? He continues to cut my hair with the razor without a pair of scissors. The end result was so tragic. I noticed my hair was totally uneven, but then I thought to myself: hmmm maybe it's because I didn't straighten my hair. Anywho again, I paid $15 and tipped him $3. I would have tipped him $5, if it was great.
I went inside my car and looked at my car mirror........O M G.....it brought me back down to a nightmarish of memory lane.....I looked like my 13 year old self that was into mullets and scenic hairstyles.
I head home and went to straighten my hair. IT WAS A PRETTY BAD END RESULT TOO. My v-shape was terribly-terribly-terribly uneven.
So what did Ms. Loretta D. do?????
I went straight back to the salon and told him that I was not satisfied with my haircut and that it was uneven and that I want it fixed. Okay I didn't say it that mean, but in a graceful and polite way like a real lady. He fixed my hair and it became more decent looking. I noticed that he was actually taking his time on it, yet he was still alternating back and forth to watch his soap opera drama. The downside is...he cut more inches of MY HAIR OFF. My hair used to be past my breasts and now its near my chest. Fortunately, he didn't charge me.
I am not returning back to this place EVER AGAIN. The man was nice and polite, but his cutting skills are not so hot and keen like last time. Not to mention, this place is meant for the older folks and I still gave it another go. Why did I go here again?????????? I don't know anymore!
For those who are reading this, please do not come here unless you want to bring your mom or pops. He would do an excellent job on them. If you have had a bad haircut like me, here's my unsolicited advice: take biotin.
