I've been living in apartments in major cities for a long time so I know what to expect; which would be loud neighbors, noises, "inconveniences," etc. and this has been my favorite place. Some of the reviews complain about loud neighbors and loud tenants but i don't know what else u can expect from living in a major city, in the middle of a city. I would say I don't have the quietest neighbors but I also can't promise I'm the most quiet neighbor either. It's shared living, giving and taking. The apartments are affordable for the location, come with central A/C and designated parking spaces (which is a huge thing for ktown), units come with dishwashers and fridges, and is moderately spacious. The location and the units for the cost, is definitely the biggest positive. Aside from location, the property manager, Ubaldo, has been the best most attentive property manager I've ever had. He is always available to answer any concerns or issues we run into, he is very nice and very approachable. From the moment I was supposed to rent a unit and everything in between, he's been so helpful and transparent/honest. I've been here for over 2 years and I do not plan on moving at all just because of how happy I am with my home. Also huge shout out to Jesus the property maintenance/ caretaker. He's the best, he's super clean and makes sure all areas of the property are well kept and he's very on top of everything. Highly recommend joining our community. read more

Aside from the location being in the city (can't avoid everything) with some noises, this apartment building is run by the best and most caring property manager. My wife and I have been living here for about 1 1/2 years now and since day one the move-in process was handled very professional and friendly the Manager Ubaldo made sure we were settled in and everything was working out perfectly. The property itself is kept very clean and up to date around all common areas, laundry room, parking lot, mailroom elevators, lobby, pool area, gym, mini golf putting green and hallways. Front of the building is kept nicely maintained at all times. Ubaldo the property manager is very friendly and attentive you can always expect to have a good positive interaction with him or any of the staff working around the property. We are leasing a 1 bedroom unit on the second floor facing the street with a nice balcony, the fresh breeze we get every morning and every afternoon with the shade of the beautiful trees during the day in front is amazing. This street is a lil busy but very nice to see that people enjoy taking a walk around the neighborhood with their families alone and in many cases with their furry friends this apartment complex is very doggie friendly and the neighborhood as well. People are always out and about at all hours enjoying the neighborhood and all it has to offer in the middle of K-town. We love having so much to do around here at walking distance, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, concert venues lots to do around this side of town. The apartment units themselves are very up to date with fresh neutral colors in paint, clean modern appliances, central ac and new flooring. Very spacious floor plan for the price. Whenever something needs fixing or repaired management does a great job of responding properly and efficiently. Management does a great job of keeping tenants up-to-date with any maintenance work or inspections being done throughout the building whether it be via text email or even by living printed flyer posts on your door or around the property for everyone to read. They always keep you informed and safe. We just renewed another year lease due to the fact that we love living here. It's all do in part to the great work, Ubaldo and he's crew do. We've been living at Kingsley Drive Apartments for almost a year now, and overall it's been a positive experience. The location is fantastic - walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and public transit also the kids school is nearby which is a nice bonus. The unit is with good natural light and complete appliances in the kitchen. The building is well-maintained and the common areas are always clean and smells fresh. I also like our parking space and they have this new site or app that we can easily book for an extra space if we needed. Hassle free and very convenient for a very cheap price! The staff truly sets this place apart. Jesus, our maintenance person, is incredibly friendly and responsive. Our manager, Ubaldo, genuinely cares about his tenants and creates such a welcoming atmosphere. He's warm, approachable, and handles everything with impressive professionalism. My kids have grown fond of him, and his management style is honestly one of the main reasons we want to stay. Overall a great location within Koreatown and a solid size for the value. My roommate and I lived in a 2 bed, 2 bath. Extremely frustrated with our upstairs neighbors, you can literally hear everything because the floors are so thin. The constant footsteps and sounds coming from upstairs were unbearable. Then you have neighbors in the courtyard being loud and if you live in a corner apartment you can hear everything in the pool. Also expect random things like your mailbox being broken into. One of the worst things about this unit was also the random clogging and plumbing issues. I woke up one morning to the sound of my bathroom sink overflowing. I thought I had caused the issue, but after trial and error the sink magically unclogged itself. Then a month later it clogged itself. The water was yellow, dirt, particles and dead bugs came out of the pipe. Also, the neighbors upstairs threw their entire dinner down the kitchen sink and clogged their sink which clogged ours. The kitchen was flooding! I contacted the landlord and they asked me "what do you want to do about it?" Really? Also expect your security deposit to be slashed to $70 after they literally deduct ~$350 for a full cleaning and painting. THEN they deducted even more for additional future charges. Somewhat deceptive, you all need to be more transparent about this. I am so upset about this. My roommate and I spent hours cleaning the apartment upon move-out and the landlord told us "we didn't need to clean it." Really? The passive aggressiveness is unreal. read more

I don't usually write many reviews but I just moved in and have had a great first impression. First of all, the current manager Eun is extremely nice and hard working. She will really go the extra mile for you. She continues to be friendly even after you move in. If you ever have any issues, she will always have your back. The apartment is a great community. Everyone is nice and friendly. It's a place where you can definitely get to know your neighbors. Speaking of community, the apartment is in a great area. Everything - metro, restaurants, , are all within walking distance. You can go over to Hollywood, downtown LA, Venice, Beverly Hills even without having a car. At the same time the actual road for the apartment is nice and quiet. Oh plus you have free parking. It's hard to find all these things together so this apartment is a rare find. Last the apartment itself. It was sparkling clean when I moved in with what seem to be new appliances. The closet is nice and big. Bathroom top tier. And windows nice and big. At first, this apartment may seem nice and decent from the pictures and the apartment tour, but once we moved in, we slowly realized it was a big mistake. Our apartment was on the third floor. We dealt with loud noisy neighbors in the courtyard and the walls are super thin so expect to hear the neighbor upstairs walking and stomping all over the place. Furthermore, the garbage disposal from the unit above us clogged our kitchen sink and flooded our kitchen. We had to deal with this unnecessary inconvenience. The master bedroom also had an unexpected sink flooding that came out of nowhere. The bathroom walls are also super fragile making the hangers in the bathroom inefficient to hold towels and toiletries. Additionally, the current landlord was not very accommodating when we reported multiple noise complaints coming from upstairs after 11pm. She said that there's nothing she can do. Not helpful whatsoever. When we notified her about officially moving out after our lease ended, she was very passive aggressive with us. Also, don't expect to get your deposit back in full. She charged us for cleaning fees that cost up to $200 and notified us about this after we spent hours cleaning the apartment making sure we don't lose our deposit. In addition to that, she also had miscellaneous charges that were unexpected. In return, we only got $70 back from the deposit. Quite deceiving I would say. Would I recommend this place to anyone? This place was decent except the packages were constantly being stolen, mailboxes were broken into regularly, the doors are not properly secure and overall not the safest place to live. What made this tolerable was the manager who had worked there for years. BUT now the old manager retired and was replaced by a new lady who is the WORST. She is SO RUDE on the phone, so dismissive, lazy (doesn't want to go out of her way for anything) and is just overall terrible. What was the criteria for hiring her?? She's only been there like a month and she already sounds like she hates being there. Also, since she's been there the hallways and the garbage areas are not as clean, they always smell like trash or human urine (like what is happening) and it just generally feels unsafe and unsanitary. With a terrible new management office like that I'm definitely not renewing my lease. No way. I suggest people find a better place to live because both the building and now the manager sucks. read more

This has to be one of the WORST buildings I've ever lived in in my entire life... I have never been so unhappy with my living situation then I am right now at Kingsley Drive apartments. For starters, the current tenants who live here are extremely NOISY and DO NOT CARE FOR THE PEACE OF OTHERS. I have my neighbors being loud starting at 6am than can last to as late as 2-3am. Slamming doors, stomping on the floor, excessive yelling, and I've even had instances of dogs barking for constant hours upon end. Secondly, the structure of the building is awful. It is poorly built so that I am able to hear EVERYTHING that's going on in the unit above me and next to me. Again, noise can range from starting at 6am and can last the entire day until 2-3am (basically have piece of mind for 3 hours in the span of 24 hours). Third, the management in the building is UNRELIABLE and LAZY. I have had constant issues with my living situation and have brought it upon myself to ask them MULTIPLE times for situations to my problems that all stem from living here, and the most they suggest is "I'll send an email" or "Let's wait it out and see." They are completely unhelpful with any situation I've had and frankly extremely unprofessional. If I could give 0 stars, I really would. I do NOT suggest moving in here if you're looking for a peaceful and quiet place to live. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I am a current tenant of the building and this is probably THE WORST living situation I have ever had to endure. Firstly, the fact that there was an eviction pending with one of the most insanely loud people ever was never disclosed to me prior to moving in. Had I known, I would NOT have moved into this building. When I came to tour the unit it was described as "one of the best units available." LIES! Whoever built this building is a moron. If you're considering moving into an apartment here that faces one of the two courtyards - BEWARE. EVERYTHING ECHOES. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT THAT PEOPLE NEED TO SLEEP. Parties, video games/tv, late night phone chats... Management tells us that there's nothing they can do because no one can be evicted right now due to covid-19. Management also does not consider providing any credits to their responsible and majorly inconvenienced residents due to the fact that we have to deal with DECRON'S PROBLEM. I honestly wish someone from Decron had to sleep here and experience what we do. It must be nice to sleep in your quiet, comfy homes. Yes, that was mad passive aggressive REALNESS because I am f*cking over it. I will say the ONLY redeeming quality of this building is the maintenance staff. Update 9/20/19. While Kyong has continued to be helpful and lovely, I need to be realistic about what is happening here. In the past 3 months, I've seen 2 roaches. I know that may not seem like alot to some people, but the first one I saw in June, it was HUGE like a good 2 inches and it was almost dead, near the kitchen stove. Fine, I had my good friend come over and help me get rid of it. Fast forward to tonight, while I am doing my nightly stretches in my bedroom, I thought I saw a spider but lo and behold a baby ROACH is literally 5 inches from my face, saying hello. I have lived in apartments all of my life, across Tokyo, Manhattan, and LA and have never ever seen a roach INSIDE my bedroom. What is happening to this place? I have communicated my concern so hopefully they will do something about this. In addition to this, this building has undergone major renovations and the new neighbors are really noisy and inconsiderate. We've had sketchy people stealing mail & laundry, neighborhood kids trying to break into our laundry room (we called 911 and they got arrested), etc etc. Kyong has done a good job of addressing all of these issues but this is just the reality of living in K-town now. read more

I've been living here for a several months now and absolutely love it. Coming from the beach suburbs, I had lowered my expectations for safety, and quietness but this location comprises on neither. Extremely quiet at night, friendly neighbors, with tons of nearby restaurants and grocery stores you can walk to (Ralphs, Jons). Also close to all the bars & nightlife in ktown if you're into that. Units come with secured parking which is also great, and most mornings have plenty of street parking for guests. Amenities include an onsite gym (one multi-purpose weight machine and rest cardio), sauna (works really well), hot tub, putting green, driving net, small soaking pool, and an outdoor charcoal bbq grill. If you're more serious about the gym, there is a 24 Hour Fitness Active, a Wilfit gym less than 5 min walking, as well as a yoga studio (Yogaworks) right across the complex. My apartment is spacious, has central AC (great for this summertime heat) and elevators have always worked properly for me. Kyong and Scott and all of the maintenance staff are extremely welcoming, friendly, and professional. I'm glad they are managing the complex. I thought it would be tough adjusting to ktown and living alone, but now I can see myself staying put! Highly recommend living here. read more

I lived at Kingsley Dr. apt with my 89 year old mother for one year. The apt itself was subpar, the company basically put a coat of paint on existing walls and trim, and kept all original windows and sliding glass door which didn't close properly. They used the least expensive fixtures and materials to make a great photo, but once you're in the apt you notice all the corners they cut. Car got broken into in the "secured garage" Lots of safety issues which was a huge concern for my 89 year old mother. However the only saving grace was the manager Eun who is quite amazing. She's the hardest working manager I've met while renting. Eun addressed my car situation immediately by hiring a temporary security guard to patrol the building at night, and checked in with me during her busy day. She facilitated my departure with ease and efficiency. Kingsley Management company should value such an incredible employee working for them so diligently. read more

This apartment only allows DirecTV for TV service and ATT for internet (1.5mbps is highest you can get). I must say, living in this apartment has been OK, but lack of internet service provider such as time warner cable, or higher speeds from ATT other than 1.5mbps makes it a horrible habitat for internet gaming nerds such as myself. I've had to use clear 4G because of the higher bandwidth, but garbage latency/ping. They said that they would get TWC soon, but it's been months since I've been told that. Rest assured, I will not be renewing my lease after 1 year of living here. UPDATE: Jun 5, 2014. I have been on month to month since May. I told the manager that I can move out on the 15th of this month and that would be beneficial for me. She said there is nothing she can do, nor will decronproperties. Although I said my final move out date would be end of this month, and seeing that it is month to month basis, I was appalled that they wouldn't let this slide. Lived here for about a year and had a great experience at Kingsley Drive Apartments. Location - This is the big one. DTLA - door to door in less than 30 min the actual train ride - 6-8 min in. Food - everywhere. Grocery store - walking distance. All things K-town - walking distance or very short Lyft ride. I think this apartment is a gem in K-town. Safety - The location of the apartment is close to Wilshire and not as rough as a majority of places in Koreatown. This apartment is in a great pocket of Mid-Wilshire where you can walk to the local grocery store (Ralphs) as well as some awesome Korean and Mexican/El Salvadorian food - all without feeling super sketch. The apartment and walk from the Purple line always felt safe. Maintenance - Kyong (apartment manager) is on top of this with help from her support staff. The apartment is well kept - I'm not too sure how many times they clean the whole apartment, but it never was dirty - that counts if you don't even notice the place needs to be cleaned. The laundromat works well and takes credit cards. Small workout area - usually empty. Dog friendly - and never felt like the place was gross like other apartments that take pets. Apartment Management - They are responsive. Go downstairs - talk to Kyong - and she will get on it ASAP. Nighttime/Daytime Activity - Day and night there is always some sort of busy (as expected - you're in K-town). Friends will have a hard time parking outside due to restaurants goers / apartment blocks having a higher density of people (K-town is awful for parking, so this is typical). For the most part this block is positioned nicely - normal noise from living in a city but nothing obnoxious like drunks yelling or anything of that sort. I would recommend this apartment. read more

In addition, they have REFUSED to renew our lease and multiple other units leases (again, all of us have lived here for YEARS). They WILL NOT transfer us into another unit on a month to month basis or offer us a new lease on a new unit. They are renovating in order to raise rent and simply do not give a single crap about current or future tenants. The entire response posted to this review was forced on Kyong by the higher ups at Decron. They have not responded, but made sure to blast Kyong for getting a low review. They don't care about tenants, they don't care about their staff. They see green and that's it. We've lived at Kingsley Drive Apartments for almost 3 months now have the whole experience has been a great one! My work relocated me to LA from San Diego and having to work from home, my partner and I needed to have a quiet, modern and good space to live/work. The Property Manager Kyong, made our move a smooth one and a pleasant one. We saw a unit on a Tuesday, got approved on Wednesday and signed a lease that Friday! We don't like moving and we plan on being long-term tenants here for years to come. Our place is conveniently located to great restaurants, coffee shops, freeways and much more. The amenities in our unit are all brand new, modern flooring and modern countertops. The building amenities are great too-pretty clean and if we have any issues, Kyong and Esteban, Maintenance team are on top of it. Overall this building is a great value and well worth it! read more

The whole building has been newly remodeled and it's a really great space for the value! Parking is super convenient and simple. I really like that there's only about 82 units in this apartment so it's not really that crowded and waiting for maintenance doesn't take forever. We moved in a few weeks ago and it's been great living here so far. We had a very smooth and easy transition. Thank you to the property manager, Kyong, who is so helpful, caring and always accommodating. Our unit was newly painted and everything was very clean when we moved in. This apartment has all the basic amenities you will need that are well maintained including washers and dryers in every floor, garage parking, gym, elevators, air conditioning, hardwood floors, kitchen appliances and lots of closet space in the unit. Location is excellent. Restaurants, cafes, grocery store, banks/atm, church, public transportation (bus stops and the metro) are walking distance. I've been living in this apartment for 2 years and generally everything is good if you're not living in the unit close to the pool area. You'll get the noise from either the pool or the other building in front of you which is only about 10 feet away. You'll be enjoying the late night talking, flirting, laughing, partying and even making out from time to time. The worst one happened in 3am in the evening. Just be prepared for that if you're considering it. Other than that, the pros are clean apartment and free parking spot. The maintenance guy is the most efficient and effective guy I've ever seen. The manager is nice and warmhearted. Double check if the unit you're moving in is not right next to the pool area. Otherwise, get yourself a pair of earplugs! PS, I've reported to the building manager for at least 6 times but there are ALWAYS people talking outside of your window loudly. read more

This is a great place to live! Maintenance is awesome and helpful, it's the best I've seen living in LA. Apt managers are super helpful and resposive to any of my needs. The location is amazing so much great food and market options, I usually end up walking all over just to check what's going on. Walking distance to the purple line if you want to go downtown and it's part of the metro expansion aswell. We were just walking around calling numbers, and we came across this place by chance, since it wasn't listed on Zillow. The manager, Ms. Kyong, was very welcoming and answered all of our questions and showed us units that were available, and processed our application on the spot! Since moving in, we've only had to call on Esteban the maintenance man once to take care of a small drip in the bathtub, and his response was very memorable; "No problems, only solutions!" Great outlook, right? The neighbors seem very amiable, and it's a fairly quiet community for the most part. Some of the neighbors have dogs, but so far we haven't heard any barking as of yet. The location couldn't be better, either! Super walkable, as Koreatown is famous for. We can just walk wherever we need to go to, so our car gets lonely in the garage. Can't wait to try out the sauna and the gym once we finish moving in. Ms. Kyong and Scott the assistant manager have definitely done a great job of making sure we're taken care of, always ready to answer our questions. One of the best apartments to live around the area. The apartment is in the middle of everything so you have tons of great restaurants, bars, and grocery stores within the walking/driving range. Apartment is really safe as well. What makes this a good place to live is the manager, Ms. Kyong. She is extremely prompt and wonderful at what she does. She finished the whole application process for me within the same day and I was able to move in the day after I filed an application. She is really good at taking care of any complaints you might have, responsive to your needs, and very quick at what you ask her for. The maintenance crew is super nice as well and they have a great leasing agent, Scott, on Saturdays too so seriously consider moving here if you're thinking about it. read more

***Update to this review*** The phone number Decron left in their reply is out of service. Just like the 24 hour emergency maintenance number posted on the leasing offices door. We are still waiting for our AC to be repaired...it has now been over two weeks since we have been able to cool our apartment. In addition, the reply left on my fiances post suggested she/we consider moving into a newly renovated unit. We would love to, and tried to, but we were immediately declined due to our credit having decreased since we moved in (due to my medical issues). No consideration for the fact we are extremely inconvenienced current tenants or for our rental history. We would love to just move into a newly renovated unit here and not have to deal with sudden, unexpected relocation...but Decron will not let us do so!!! ****************************** First off, I want to say that this review has nothing to do with Kyong Sin. She's been a great on-site manager who truly cares about and does what she can for her tenants. Unfortunately, Decron Properties doesn't care about their tenants at all. My fiance has lived here almost two years. I've had a number of surgeries recently which have caused a need to live with her. We wanted to move into a two bedroom as there are a number of them vacant at this time and Kyong initially told us no problem, that we wouldn't need to reapply and run credit (as we explained our credit had taken some negative hits as a result of my four surgeries in the past year). Later, we are told we have to apply so we did, and we were immediately turned down. No consideration of the fact that we are current tenants, and have been good tenants. Then, in conversation with Kyong a couple of weeks ago, we find out we cannot renew the lease on our one bedroom when it ends at the end of August. When were they going to tell us this? We still haven't received any formal notice. They are renovating all the units (presumably to rent them at higher rates) and want to renovate ours. So, they are basically kicking us and many other long-term tenants out due to greed. They won't transfer us to another one bedroom without having us reapply and running credit (which they wouldn't have done to just renew our lease). Fast forward to our AC breaking in the middle of a heat wave. We took a day and a half off of work to have it repaired. It was broken for almost 5 days. Once it was repaired, we were told by the AC tech that there is a problem with some valves which causes a pipe from our water heater to leak, so they emptied all our hot water. Now we have no ability to shower or do dishes, have to keep our hot faucets on so that water doesn't accumulate even more, and have a bucket under the ceiling. We called Kyong and she told us that she cannot call an after hours plumber because the management gave her a certain limit on the credit card she can use for this building, and that limit was hit by the cost of all the renovations. So, what do we do? We go into a currently gutted apartment that's awaiting renovations, all the way on the other side of the building, to take our showers so we aren't gross for work tomorrow. Funny part? The unit we showered in is one of the two bedrooms we were trying to transfer into. Talk about adding insult to injury. So this management cares about making money and moving new people with money in, but couldn't care less about current tenants or the ways that they are completely messing up those current tenants lives. Best apartment up keep I've ever seen. I have to give credit to Kyong (Manager) for making the environment clean and comfortable. The carpet in the common area gets shampooed every week! We've been here for 5 yrs and Kyong is one of the reasons we stay. It's nice to know that your manager is looking out for you. I've been living here for 4 months now and so far no real complaints. Any issue (damaged window blind, malfunctioning faucet) gets fixed right away. The apartment is great, the amenities are plentiful, and the area is a walking distance away from the metro station and anything else I go to on a daily basis. Another user has mentioned bad internet with limited options, but that comment is outdated. TWC started offering their service for a few months now, and you can have speeds up to 20mbps. In this regard, it compares to all the previous places in West LA that I've lived at. read more

I've been living here for just a couple months but I love everything about this place. The building itself is very clean and the manager is so sweet and fast with requests. Moved from NY and found this apartment. great manager on site and maintenance!!! very quite and good neighbors. Also I love location of this apartment, everything in koreatown is very close. I read previous reviewer's complain about internet service, but they already had TWC service when I moved in. Also my thought was internet service problems doesn't do anything with apartment. it is internet company's problem. I have no issue at all so far living in this apartment. if you are looking for quite place and great neighbor.... I would recommend this apartment. read more

Great place to live. Central to everything in ktown and within walking distance. Been here for several years and the manager Kyong is great. Always stop by the office to say hi. She is always on the look out to keep our community safe. Being in the city that's a tough job but her concern for the residents is outstanding. Also want to add about the internet here which one previous resident mentioned. So I work in the tech industry and the AT&T service was horrible. But that's was not the because of the management. This directly related to AT&T. The distance from here to the CO would allow for 6MB connection but AT&T capped it at 768kb not 1.5mb as previously stated. I performed a line test and questioned AT&T. Their response ... they capped on purpose due to old equipment and this area being saturated. As for the TWC it takes time. They need a contract. I deal with this stuff all day at work...lol since then TWC is available and now I get 100MB+. It is annoying when people don't understand and write bad reviews about something they don't understand and blame others. *Disclaimer* I am in no way related to the management nor the property in any way. The units are nice, location (10-min. walk to Metro Purple Line) great, but what makes this building special is the superintendent. She lives in the building herself, and always goes above and beyond; any issue is addressed promptly and thoroughly. We moved here in 2016, after selling our Long Beach home of 18 years because we could no longer tolerate the commute to LA. We were apprehensive about living in an apartment after so many years in a single-family home, but have found lots of upsides and very little downside. She ensures the common areas are kept clean, takes personal pride in the building, and is extremely responsive. It definitely wouldn't be nearly so good without her! read more

Great apt complex to live in, quiet and clean. Kyong is always very helpful with accommodations and runs the place very well. 5/5!!
