My wife's chicken wings were no better, but her steak frite was nice apparently. However my burger was raw, and needed to be replaced with one which was medium at best. Medium steaks are fine, but not processed meat. The Moorings pricing isn't exactly competitive either. So they can't afford to be messing it up with what's put in the plate. It's not expensive, but at these prices you expect better. They kindly subtracted the starters from the bill, but of course by then it's too late. Yes, there's a reason it's quiet.

It was also a bit tricky to get through to housekeeping, room service, and the front desk- but it did seem like it was a busy day. I had always wanted to stay and when I found out that the Bafta Scotland Awards Ceremony was to be held just along the road, I thought this is the perfect opportunity to stay and become a citizen. I also wanted to make it more special as now I am newly-wed and only recently got back from my Honeymoon. I thought it would be nice to continue with a cheeky mini-moon. I messaged citizenM and explained that I would like to surprise my new husband as we celebrated our mini-moon. They did explain that they may not be able to depending on busy business is and also they cannot leave alcohol in the room, which I can completely understand. The citizenM Ambassadors emailed me back and asked for a wee bit of information about ourselves and I explained how we met working on Avengers: Infinity War in Edinburgh and that we had an Avengers themed wedding. Well, they absolutely blew us away and they surprised us with our own wee Avengers themed Earth-616 main Marvel Universe just for us. It was so much fun, you could tell whoever decorated enjoyed this and knew there Avengers characters. The room is intimate but was just perfect for us with all the mode cons. The room's lights, TV and blinds could be all controlled by an iPad. It was such a novelty and we loved our stay. The Ambassadors (the staff) really looked after us. Even the night Ambassadors who looked after us when we got back from our evening at the Baftas. They showed us their evening bar menu and my husband chose a couple of mini pies. He is still raving about those wee pies. Hehe!! We had an awesome stay and absolutely loved all the thought, time and attention to the detail for our Avengers themed mini-moon. We can't thank the Ambassadors enough and we both can't wait to stay again.

The room itself was exactly the same. Overall, the layout and king bed are always enjoyable, but the hard floor makes for a difficult experience if you're trying to do some in-room stretching/yoga/exercising. A couple things unique to my visit in Glasgow: -During check-in, it asked me what type of room I'd like (meaning, the level/view). I chose a lower room, as it said it was a city view. This was more like a view of the building across the street on the west side of the building. But the lower room was good because... -One of the elevators wasn't working when I checked in, so being able to take stairs up to my room was something I took advantage of. -The actual spot in Glasgow I found very convenient for my purposes. I was able to walk to the university area in about 25 min, as well as over to my favorite spot (Mono/Monorail) in the same amount of time. It was also very close to the Glasgow Queen St station. So all in all, a good experience and I would definitely stay here again.

I noticed that there are lots of pictures of the booze in the room. I have to say, I took one. Decanters of actual whiskey, gin, and vodka - not your average hotel. But I decided to post a picture of the artwork in the hallway instead. Quick note about the staff: REALLY great staff. Two of us in my party needed to print something. Brian's way important, mine was not. But we both received great service and a concern for our needs. Between all that and early check-in, looking after our bags, and helping out at every turn, we were very pleased with the staff. Overall, a good value and a great location.

The food provided by the hotel for the wedding was delicious and the bar staff were very attentive.

But they kept telling us they were cleaning the rooms. Finally we got our rooms. The rooms were very nice but lacked drawers. After we settled in we went to the hotels social hour. It consisted of free wine. It was very nice. The hotel included an excellent breakfast. The hotel restaurant was also excellent. Aside our waiting to get our rooms the staff was very friendly and helpful.
