The bathroom is huge & the towel warmer was a nice touch. My only complaint about is that there's no elevator but we managed fine. Also not convenient to have to ask for ice to be brought to my room but the staff was always helpful. Being Americans on our first visit to Scotland we didn't know what to expect but we were very happy & hope to come back.

Granted this can make it slightly tricky to find, particularly if you're a visitor to the city. This is a minor niggle. My mum and sister booked a room here on a recent visit. (There was genuinely no room at my place, honest.) It's cheapness and location were the deciding factors, I wasn't expecting too much and since we'd be out and about most of the time it wouldn't matter anyway. It was just a bed, you know? However, I was really surprised by just how lovely the place was. Clean, nicely designed, friendly staff, en suite shower, TV, wi fi, computer, tea and coffee making facilities. You're not supposed to get all that for £25.00 a night are you? Did I mention the full Scottish Breakfast buffet and free parking? A real bargain. The only really negative thing to come from the experience was setting foot back in my own flat, which is in a building structurally identical to the hotel. They had done such a good job on the decor and upkeep of the hotel, my home suddenly felt cold and unwelcoming.

No doubt one of their more 'cost effective' rooms but fine for us all the same. The staff are fabulous - attentive and always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The room itself was exactly the same. Overall, the layout and king bed are always enjoyable, but the hard floor makes for a difficult experience if you're trying to do some in-room stretching/yoga/exercising. A couple things unique to my visit in Glasgow: -During check-in, it asked me what type of room I'd like (meaning, the level/view). I chose a lower room, as it said it was a city view. This was more like a view of the building across the street on the west side of the building. But the lower room was good because... -One of the elevators wasn't working when I checked in, so being able to take stairs up to my room was something I took advantage of. -The actual spot in Glasgow I found very convenient for my purposes. I was able to walk to the university area in about 25 min, as well as over to my favorite spot (Mono/Monorail) in the same amount of time. It was also very close to the Glasgow Queen St station. So all in all, a good experience and I would definitely stay here again.

The bathrooms were also quite luxurious and there's a tub as well as shower. They have free breakfast if you book directly with them, but since we booked it through the Capital One portal, we didn't have that. The keys themselves are physical keys (not keycards). The front desk is nice and even though there wasn't a water bottle filling station, they filled them up for us. They were able to hold onto our baggage after we checked out while we explored the area.

Reminding us that luxury can be accessible and sometimes affordable. With 11 rooms inside the castle and 7 outside this definitely has a boutique feel. Beds are hard and the room are spacious. We enjoyed the cloudy apple juice (haven't seen that in the USA). Staffs were friendly. It would be more convenient if there were microwaves on every floor rather than just one on the first. The location of the microwave on the first floor can be moved away from the entrance where all guests are entering/exiting. Lots of nearby eateries within 10 minutes walking distance.
