Do not go to this place. Washing machines were nasty and dryers took your money but didn't dry my clothes.

Golden Isles Laundry - Dirty floor

I've been to a lot of laundromats, and Golden Isles Laundry definitely stands out in some…read moreways--both good and bad. On the plus side, the facility itself is great. It's clean, spacious, and well laid out, which makes doing laundry a lot less of a chore. There are plenty of washers and dryers available, and I really appreciate the variety of sizes--you can handle anything from a small load to bulky items without a problem. That said, there are a couple of downsides that are hard to ignore. First, you have to use a laundry card, and frustratingly, it can only be loaded with cash. In a world where most places take cards or mobile payments, that feels outdated and inconvenient. The biggest issue, though, has been the customer service--specifically the evening attendant. I'm a weekly evening customer, and almost every week I've witnessed him being extremely rude to at least one customer. Unfortunately, about a week ago, I was on the receiving end. He was very gruff with me for using a folding table in an area he had recently mopped. To be fair, it was about an hour before closing, and I understand he has responsibilities to finish up. However, there was no signage, barrier, or any indication that the area was closed or unavailable for use. I brushed it off at the time, assuming he might have just been having a bad day. However, my most recent visit on April 15 really changed my perspective. The attendant was again rude--this time to another customer--and the situation escalated unnecessarily. A woman was in an area he had just mopped (again, with no signage or barriers indicating it was off-limits). She had earbuds in and couldn't hear him, but instead of handling it calmly, he became confrontational and ultimately called the police because she wasn't responding to him. The police arrived, spoke with her, and then left after hearing her side of the story. The whole situation was uncomfortable to witness and honestly made me feel uneasy. It's a shame because customers should be able to do something as routine as laundry without feeling tense or worried about being spoken to harshly. It also feels like there are unspoken rules that customers are expected to follow, without any clear communication. Simple signage or barriers--especially closer to closing time--could make a big difference and prevent situations like this altogether. While one customer spending around $20 a week (about $80 a month) might not seem significant to the business, it is to me. At this point, I'd rather spend my time and money somewhere I feel more comfortable and treated with basic courtesy. Overall, the facility itself is great, but the lack of modern payment options and ongoing issues with the evening attendant make it difficult to recommend.

But the woman working there came over and explained the system and in 3 minutes I was rolling. Place is busy and that's because it is clean and well maintained. I'm not a fan of going to "the mat". Hostile, Unprofessional, and Unresolved Experience -- Avoid This Location(SKIDAWAY LOCATION)…read more I've been a loyal customer at the Suds on Skidaway Road (Savannah) for years--until a completely unacceptable encounter with an employee named Charmaine. From the start, Charmaine seemed irritated. She offered no help, spoke rudely, and got aggressive when I asked a simple question about my receipt after paying with exact cash (since the card machine was down). Her attitude was unprovoked and inappropriate. She handwrote "needs to pay" on my receipt and highlighted it, which left me confused. When I asked for clarification, she snapped, yelled, and became hostile--in front of my child and her own, including one handling laundry behind the counter. She made disturbing comments about my clothes, and as I left, she yelled: "That's why you have to bring your stank a clothes in here to wash, you uppity bi***!"** This behavior--especially in front of children--was disturbing and unnecessary. When I reported it to the store manager (Brittany), she offered no apology. She claimed Charmaine called her during the incident but said the call dropped. That's false--I heard them on speakerphone. Charmaine even went outside yelling about me on the phone as I was leaving. I escalated to the district manager (Christie). She called after I contacted other stores, said she'd follow up--but didn't. When I called her back, she acted like she didn't know who I was and seemed annoyed I followed up. She simply suggested I go to another Suds location. When I picked up my clothes, Charmaine was still working, and no one acknowledged the issue. No apology. No accountability. This location clearly has high turnover, poor management, and zero customer service. It's also not in a safe or welcoming area--and now I understand why. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Avoid this location at all costs.

Hostile, unprofessional, unstable employee (Charmaine ) -- awful experience in front of children…read more No resolution from management. I've been a regular at the Suds on Skidaway Road (Savannah Location) for years with no issues -- until I encountered Charmaine. From the moment I walked in, she looked irritated that I was even there. She offered no help, had a nasty attitude, and became aggressive when I asked a simple question about my receipt after paying in exact cash. The card machine was broken, and when I offered to pay in cash, she rudely told me it had to be exact cash in a very nasty tone. After I paid, she handwrote "needs to pay" on my receipt and highlighted it, which left me confused. When I asked for clarification to avoid issues later, she became hostile, started yelling, and behaved in a highly unprofessional manner -- all in front of her own children who were present- one being behind the counter and handling customer's laundry -and my child, who was with me at the time. She also made unsettling comments about my clothes that made me fear she might intentionally damage them. I was genuinely concerned that she may have access to my card information and could misuse it. She yelled " that's why you have to bring your stank a** clothes in here to wash, you uppity bi***. This behavior was completely inappropriate and honestly unnecessary -- especially in front of children. This review is specifically about Charmaine who appeared to be mentally unstable. When I reported this matter, there was no apology or feedback from the store manager( Brittany) at all. She shared that when Charmaine called her about me requesting a receipt, she did not hear Charmaine being disrespectful because the phone hung up. However, this is untrue because I heard her on speaker phone in collaboration with her. Charmaine grew so angry she went outside leaning against a car yelling about me to her on the phone as I was leaving. Also when escalated to district manager (Christie), she did not follow up with me later like she assured. She did call initially after I called multiple stores sharing the incident. She assured she would be sure to follow up with me that afternoon regarding what would be happening. However, she did not. I had to follow up with her, and when I called her, she behaved as if she did not know who I was- initially , and also did not seem very apologetic towards the situation. She shared she was still investigating, but her tone was much different than earlier - there was no interest or concern for my experience. It seemed as if she was annoyed I was following up. I expressed that I did not feel comfortable with the situation or how it was being handled and she suggested that I go to another Suds location. Smh. When I went to go pick up my clothing, there was no sign of remorse. There was no apology and the worker was still there actively working. The store manager was present (Brittany) and did not offer an ounce of acknowledgment or accountability . Very disappointing. The only reason I went there was because it was close to my home. But honestly it's not located in a safe or favorable area. There is a new attendant that works there every couple of months. Steer clear! I would rate zero stars if that was an option.
