We bought two tickets costing almost $90 for the horrific Alpha Blondy and Pablo Moses "show" that was supposed to take place last Saturday night, June 18, 2016, at Kings Hall in Seattle. We got our tickets on-line through Brown Paper Tickets.
To put it in a nutshell, we waited from 8 p.m., the posted starting time for the event -- AND FOR THE NEXT FIVE HOURS TO PAST 1:00 A.M. SUNDAY MORNING-- for anyone to show up and play...but a total no show for the bands !!!???
Whoever was running the promotion had the road support crew come out on the stage every hour or so like they were tuning up for the show to start...but nothing happened outside of the canned reggae cuts blaring from the speakers, which drove the waiting and increasingly impatient crowd nuts.
Left at that witching hour, with dozens of paying customers leaving earlier from frustration, and a mob screaming for refunds starting to form at the ticket window!
The most unprofessionally-run concert and musical event that we have ever had the misfortune to be part of and witness.
Seriously wonder if a riot took place there, once people started realizing that no show was going to occur in the last half-hour before the advertised 2 a.m. closing time...and that the promoter didn't have the cash to give refunds back to all...lol.
Terrible...terrible...terrible disappointment and waste of a Saturday night...
Even more disappointing, however, was that Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) refused to honor our refund request. During BPT's "investigation" into the many complaints generated, apparently the promoter blatantly lied to them, stating the concert took place at midnight and they stupidly took his word at face value. The truth, however, was documented shortly thereafter on the "Alpha Blondy in Seattle" Facebook page, which had many attendees complaining about the total rip-off. In checking it today, however -- someone, somehow, conveniently had those vitriolic, accurate posts deleted...lol?
In our opinion, Brown Paper Tickets is as culpable as the scam artist promoter of this fraudulent Alpha Blondy concert and facilitated criminal theft by not supporting their customers.
Will never trust Brown Paper Tickets ever again nor frequent a venue like Kings Hall that allows shady promoter scams to be perpetrated against trusting customers...STAY AWAY! read more
